People seem to be surprised that Ireland would send a song like this to Eurovision, dont forget Ireland were the 1st country to celebrate Halloween , as a child many the story i listened to were witches and horror stories combined to frighten the shit out of you
but you also have to factor in that most people are incredible stupid and have an out dated view of Ireland e.g poverty, deeply religious and conservative, potatoes, alcohol etc excuse me now i have to slide down a rainbow to dig for potatoes in ditches because im so incredibly poor.
To be Fair, Ireland has been a pagan country for longer and way before christianity ever came to our shores. Even our flavour of Catholicism is steep in pagan roots. Including Bridget, Yule, bonfires, faeries and Samhain etc. to name a few. The spiritual connection to nature has very much been blended into our christian traditions. But I reckon at this time you'd find more staunch Irish Catholics in the states than in Ireland. They have somehow confused their Irish heritage with being catholic. js.
As lithuanian, I fully understand you. Lithuania was the last pagan country in Europe, we officially became christins first in 1387. We have many pagan traditions, even for Christmas, there are many pagan music groups. Love, love, love this song and performance!
The best I have ever seen and tells a story within. My question is some people say they are religious?? What's that got to do with this performance ?? Is it because the boyfriend created looks looks devil like?
You can't compare it to previous years. Songs like Rock and Roll kids as a song are far more timeless that this as the song itself is just so beautiful. Bambi clearly realised what it takes to win ESC nowadays. You literally have to put on a massive performance. The song is far from the best ESC has ever had, but from a theatrics point of view, its the best in the history,
We grew up Catholic with a understanding of the dark mythology from our past here in Ireland. Stories of Banshees, witches and satanic circles, and pagan rituals were common. Well done to Bambi Thug for celebrating that tradition.
Anything that is different from the standard generic euro-fare that we usually get (UK - I'm looking at you) has got to be good, and this has got it in pentacles! That is one extremely well-constructed and performed song - they've got my vote!
This year I decided not to watch all entries before watching the festival itself and boy did this one surprise me because of it. Loved every second of it though, and the ending, with the scream and the slogan, gave me chills.
The Symbols that she has, like the star on the ground and the symbol on her forehead and some of her tattoos represent Druid symbols...Ancient Ireland. They are not satanic. I'm not sure, but I think her hair represents Antlers not devil horns...what druids would have worn. If the elderly irish people have a problem with it, they really should look up their ancient Irish history. Also her pink and blue outfit is a nod to the Trans flag. I think its amazing. Very theatrical. Amazing performance. If it doesn't win...Ireland will still be a very proud country. 🇮🇪
Yeah the artist is actually non binary I believe they are the first to perform on euro vision it truly is amazing to see the trans rep in dark times for trans people
It's not a song you want to just hear. You need to see the performance cause the song and the visuals blends together perfectly. It's unique experience which is what Eurovision is all about.
Just to point out that until last year Ireland had won the Contest more times than anyone else-7 times. Sweden caught us last year. And that includes winning it three times in a row including four times in five years. And we staged it every time after winning.
@@theeggtimertictic1136 Especially as most countries would give anything to win and host it because that’s a huge way of showcasing your country to hundreds of millions of people. They decided there would be no women left.

The first trial , and one of the most famous , was that of Dame Alice Kyteler , who hailed from County Kilkenny .
