  • Thank you for watching. I was recently able to interview Roy Eugene Davis, a Kriya Yoga teacher and direct student of Paramahansa Yogananda. Many mornings had we spent together in this same room since 2000. This was the second recorded conversation. Mr. Davis discusses how to learn Kriya Yoga, how to practice Kriya Yoga, and many other topics.

This has been minus a note for a year. Simply to say that this grows along with all forms of enlightened spirituality and awareness. More now than ever. This is foundational, helpful, positive.

I don't know.. I read Mr. Davis book "the power of the soul" ("Die Macht der Seele" in german). It was my first spiritual book. I was intrigued. This was 30 years ago. Seeing him the first time now is incredible. What a fascinating and warm-hearted man, and so intelligent. I start crying hearing him. I heard he died shortly. He will be in peace now I'm sure of it.

Thank you Ryan! Great interview! Love the stories and several references to Buddha/Buddhism (as I think Kriya/your teaching and Buddhism are the most effective, the least manipulated and most preserved, path oriented teachings). Also love the little gem of wisdom about "Aspiration and Patience". I need to remember that frequently! And love the respectful, harmonious, loving and relaxed vibe between you and Mr. David. :)

Hi Ryan - I am a long time disciple of Roy Eugene Davis and I have spent much time at CSA (Center for Spiritual Awareness). In fact, I am here right now on a personal retreat. This interview you did is so meaningful to me. I come back to it again and again to see and hear my beloved guru. It touches me profoundly and brings tears to my eyes. I’m so grateful to you for making this video, and just wanted to say thank you so much. God bless you.

At 37:06 there is an orb moving away from Roy at his left shoulder. Another at 37:27 above his head. Another at 37:55...etc. One comment he made resonated with my own experience; the idea of the 'witness' observing with detachment. This is the state of your higher self. There are accounts of people involved in dramatic traumas finding themselves standing beside or above their bodies and simply witnessing with detachment the physical form. In essence, this higher self is the same observer or witness discovered in deep meditation once the lower identity self, or what I call the persona, has been superseded within the practice. It seems that the detached state of "witness" is indeed the perceiver that is capable of dynamically rising to the highest levels of perception and consequently the state of unbounded "knowing" or what is referred to as the 'enlightenment - oneness' state. From this lofty perceptual vantage point, human mental conceptualizations could only be seen as a state of confusion particularly tied to the dimension of physical existence.

The purpose of incarnation on Earth has to be more than for the "wave to dissolve back into the ocean" as Yogananda taught. If we come from the ONE, is the purpose just to return back unchanged to the same condition from which we started after experiencing suffering on Earth? Sri Aurobindo and the Mother taught that we are here for spiritual evolution. Carl Jung called the process of spiritual evolution "individuation." Unfortunately, too often Yogananda taught the Eastern fallacy that life is just a purposeless illusion - a "Great Cosmic Motion Picture Show" for someone's entertainment. Is God entertained by all the suffering?

The only effective yoga to practice in Kali-yuga is bhakti yoga, all the other kind yoga are forbidden.
The reason is that there are not qualified gurus which possess the real technic, it's lost.

You should trust a knowledgeable teacher.... But even an ignorant teacher can lead a sincere soul like you to Mukti through Bakthi.
