  • Thank you for watching. I was recently able to interview Roy Eugene Davis, a Kriya Yoga teacher and direct student of Paramahansa Yogananda. Many mornings had we spent together in this same room since 2000. This was the first recorded conversation. Mr. Davis discusses the most important qualities to have to experience full Self-realization, common obstacles to the path, what his experiences with Yogananda were like, and many other topics.

    I met Mr. Davis in 1978. He was so kind and he encouraged me very much to continue on the meditation path I was already on. I'll always remember him with great affection and appreciation. I was 27 at that time. Now at 72, his presence is still clear in my heart. Thank you for this video.

    27:20 read a little, meditate more, think of god all the time. Don’t allow your mind to be troubled by what others do or don’t do, and don’t look back and don’t look to the left or to the right but look straight ahead to the goal and go all the way in this incarnation and you can do it.

    As he was describing about the times he was around Yogananda, I noticed something around 2:28 from close to his picture on the wall. It could be anything but I perceived this as a blessing from Yogananda and I accept it.

    A side issue, seeing you are an astrologer: I would be happy to believe in astrloly, but I don't. Because I don't see any scientifically sound basis for it. Is there a website that provides such a basis you could refer me to ?

    • @petervankan1
      @petervankan1 5 лет назад

      @@KriyaYogaOnline Thanks for reacting. I wasn't worried, just interested, and never thought I needed astrology in order to be Self aware. It's just that being a disciple of Yogananda while not believing in astrology (or the yuga's or other notions that strike me as at odds with science) occasionally feels a little odd. Nothing wrong with astrology being solely based on tradition of course, if that's the case, as long as it works.

      Somethings are "ParaScientific". I am always surprised when it works myself.

    There are so many, many ways that mankind has come up with to supposedly help the seeker with his innate longing to know who he is at his core. And, I suppose that's good. But, many "paths" seem so very complex and many are even stressful in practice. It seems strange to me because, afterall, when you get down to it we "spiritual aspirants" are only like fish swimming here and there . . . looking for water!

      No, karma yoga and kriya yoga are different. Karma yoga is the path of detached action, and kriya yoga is mastering over one's life energies. There are 4 path to self realization:
      1. Bhakti
      2. Gyana
      3. Karma
      4. Kriya

    Hi Ryan,
    Please clarify some of my doubts. In the present world, spirituality is all about consciously destroying all our accumulated karma and become liberated beings. Now as I am conscious that I have lot of karma to destroy which I accumulated over a lot of lifetimes, Am I not an Enlightened being in the beginning ??.. Was that a conscious choice to come down from non dual existence to this dual physical form ?? In short, Is spirituality only about one way direction from dual to non dual ? I am sure lot of people had this question. What does scriptures say about this ?
    Thanks,

    • @KriyaYogaOnline
      @KriyaYogaOnline  7 лет назад +3

      It depends on the scripture and the point of view. Some say what you describe is only an illusion, and all we have to do is reveal the illusion for what it is. This cannot be commented on in any way that will clear your doubts. Only your direct inquiry into what is true will reveal that. Otherwise, anyone can quote any scripture that supports their own points of view.

    • @boardsandstuff5008
      @boardsandstuff5008 7 лет назад +1

      Is all about experiencing your true nature beyond words, definitions and ideas. Pure existence, conciousness and joy. This world is delusion and incarnation is due to previous desires, attachments. Just do it, just be it. You are Him you just have to increase your knowing.
