That little piece of metal that fits into the bottom and covers that hole was designed to prevent pressurized hydraulic fluid from shooting out and into your eye during bleeding or clutch fluid change procedures. I followed your video closely as I was reassembling my slave and master cylinders. Thank you for the detail you provided throughout. BTW... you will stare at the master cylnder clutch handle and rue the day you didn't repaint it when you had it off and clean. Rue... rue the day. :)
The little clip cover is stop fluid squirting out over the bike little hole brake fulid return.thanks for video i can never find circlip pliers that fit so always had somone else rebuild so glad i can know

interesting idea for the little flap of metal, but the float on top would serve the same purpose.
Nice job showing each and every step. Appreciate your detail!

Yup. Very thorough. Thank you. Just rebuilt my clutch so all this extra stuff is great.
glad it helped
Very well done, thanks for posting.
Well, this was my second attempt. None of this stuff is too difficult, you just have to be willing to try.
Thanks for sharing its a big help
The tiny passage in the bottom of the master cylinder reservoir was my failure. you have to get that clean
Thank you .But almost nothing you can see on your video because camera located not in ride position.
Is there a gasket in between the slave cylinder and engine block?
No. Clean metal to metal
Yes there is a seal between crankcase and the slave cylinder, and it hardens by the time. You should replace it while you are there.
