My husband is Asturian and we had our trip last 2018 and I felt in love of Asturias, especially Oviedo the cleanest city in Spain. I want to go back there!😇😍😘🙏

My grandma's parents left Asturias in the mid 1800's to Puerto Rico. The Montes family. Most stood on the island while some left to the states and at least 2 returned to Asturias to die. Now I see why the nastalgia was so compelling. I'm taking a trip there next summer. Can't wait.
@Rick roll my family last name was Taboas which sounds very Portuguese but is actually Asturian and Galician it’s cool to learn that I’m Celtic Spanish the other last names were Goyas and Iglesias that was my dads grandmothers side and the grandfathers side was Corsican and Spanish there name was Borgo which was corso and Millán the Spanish name. I’m Puerto Rican btw
@Rick roll I had a buddy from the Philippines with a Spanish last name but my dads grandmas parents were both born in Asturias and immigrated to Puerto Rico.
My grandfather migrated from Asturias in 1909. I have visited there twice and it is a beautiful place. Have a seaside lunch at Cudillero. Visit Covadonga and Picos de Europa. And yes, try the chuletón de buey, the cider and of course the faves (Asturian fabada.) You’d be glad you visited.
I live in México, always have. My grandparents (all four) were spanish; my paternal grandfather was from La Borbolla, Asturias. I hope some day I can visit.
Pues no pierdas la oportunidad de visitarlo porque la zona de la Sierra Plana de La Borbolla, Llanes, la Sierra del Cuera y toda esa zona es..... PRECIOSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....... Un FUERTE ABRAZO desde Gijón para todo México. ;o)
For the first time i was there 1970, i was 2 years old with my brother and my parents. My parents bought a flat there, because my fathers best friend's wife was born there and they also buy a flat. Over 40 years my parents make their vacations there and they love it, especially my father. Ribadesella will always be in my heart. Greetings from Germany
My Cuban paternal grandparents were born in Aviles Asturias. My granny was a ginger and my granddad had black hair and eyes. My mom’s family are from Spain too but she’s also a huge mix of Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe.
My friend, for a moment I did not grasp the reverse psychology of your narration, and my heartbeat began to rise as I thought about the devastatingly critical comment that I was going to write to you (lol) ... Thanks for showing my beautiful and gorgeous homeland . Come to Asturias, you will not regret it; but do not forget to put the umbrella in the suitcase, hahaha
My mother is from Asturias as well as my cousins :) We were lucky to spend 3 months there in 2017. We went at the end of Sept - Dec. We were soooo lucky the weather did not get rainy or cold until later in November, which is rare. You are not kidding about the affordable and DELICIOUS food. The list of it's beauty never ends. Can't wait to get back!
Awesome place. Lived and worked there in 1999 and 2000. Wonderful women and young men. Not so good with the "grumpier" older men (over 50). All my best to Sandra, Teresa, Seve, Paublo of Telecable.
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
asturias is a great place. Compared to southern part of Spain Asturias is kinda cold but retains great spanish traditions. Summer is a good time to visit, along the coast many beautiful small towns. Larger city like Oviedo and Gijon is so cheap and dollar will go a long way.
My grandfather was from here. Never met him. Don't care much for Asturias and it's gloomy weather or Celtic culture. Still trying to find something I like about it
Although poorly managed BREXIT discouraged the average British tourist from travelling to the countryside of Cantabria and Asturias plus COVID vaccinations and overcrowded airports too ! Myself a 75 yr old experienced , regular traveller to Spain since 1977 found the weather in Summer in Asturias was ideal with Brittany Ferries and very fast comfortable Alsa coaches warm , able to travel on foot staying sometimes in hostels or cheap hotels through the villages between Santander to Somiedo and the Picos de Europa where, what was lacking in luxury , was usually well recompensed by the welcoming warmth of the country people and the local cider, Celtic dance and bagpipes etc
My grandparents both sides of my family were from Asturias also some of my aunts and uncles, when my grandparents moved to the US my father was born not to much later.
Exactly like the rest of all the regions who form Spain...this is one of the many many charms wich characterize Spain and make it so particularly special and unique.
The Portuguese language was created earlier than Spanish which is derived from Latin, with greater complex grammar and verbal tenses , so i don't think the Asturian race were older forefathers of the Portuguese race, Bable the old Asturian dialect cannot compare with the rough sounds of Portuguese.

It is called principality for historical reasons, holding the heir to the Crown of Castile and, by extension, the Crown of Spain the noble title of "Prince of Asturias", established by John I of Castile in 1388.

La peninsula de Iberia fue llamada Espania (Hispania). Incluyendo a Portugal (Lusitania) ,Andorra, Gibraltar y parte de la frontera de Francia.
