Awesome trip! I had an islander roommate when I lived in Guam. We just threw the titan triggerfish that a friend got spear fishing on the grill without skinning or gutting. No holes in the fish. We took the skin off after it was cooked. It was so good and juicy! The gut sack I guess is so tough it didn't leak into the meat!
Speaking of the snails we all have paths that we go down! The ones that believe in God follow the same paths. We may be on different journeys but we know that God is guiding us through life and life is good. That’s my path living the way God intended me to. Armor ( thick skinned) fish are the best for me is ocean talley(blue trigger), tripletail, grey trigger...Cooked I will take fresh tripletail over anything...raw would probably be a #1 sushi grade firm wahoo with iridescence on the meat! 👍 ain't nothing better imo
ayy the no ice is true back home is expensive we used to freeze empty soda bottles and used that to keep fish cold for long trips and we can keep using that over and over again

Gabe your so right my whole family moved to Destin Florida last August except me I'm still in socal for now I went out in the gulf and caught some trigger fish and filleted them up and it was amazing not kidding so so good I fish for bluefin here that's my favorite but triggerfish is now my second favorite of all time this was an epic video thanks oh. We catch a lot of Trigger fish in southern Baja....and they really are the best eating...just such a bisch to clean! So fiddly! Ohh yeah...going Safari style on that Trigger...nothing wasted, man if I had a dozen tortillas, a onion, a lemon, a tomato, cilantro, and a couple jalapeno chasers. Meal fit for a king. OK ...I'm suddenly scurrying around to find my keys realizing all I'm missing is the fish. 👍
Am disabled and can no longer spearfish. Your videos are great! Spent virtually my entire childhood swimming in the intercoastal and in the Gulf of Mexico, never had problems with sharks except twice , once by a small Blacktip and the second by an 18 ft. Tiger shark. Remarkably the Tiger lived in the Boca Ciega Bay area and he seemed not to be aggressive toward swimmers and was more or less curious. However, a friend of mine was stalked by Old Hitler about a 20 ft Hammerhead while diving in the Gulf. Oh yeah, at 16 jumped off the John's Pass bridge on a bet at night. The tide was extremely strong and I had to swim hard to reach shore before being swept out into the Gulf, one time as my shoe went on the down stroke it thumped hard on an object, a shark. So you know, it takes a certain amount of balls to do what you do.
Once again that was a great freaking show wonderful fishing and man that chef I would eat a whole bunch of plates of everything that he cooked because that all looked absolutely amazing holy moly you do some amazing things and I'm really happy that you're able to do this and I'm really jealous too lol
Gabe you are one lucky man or shall I say blessed, Crystal is an absolute doll baby, not only is she drop dead gorgeous but she has a personality to kill for and of course she’s from Kentucky that’s my home state so I’m sure that has a lot to do with it. Loved this Panama vid! I was just down in Puerto Morales Mexico and finally got my chance to go out fishing. We trolled around for like 5 hours and nothing so we asked to stop and bottom fish for a bit and we did sone work! Caught a bunch of yellow tail and 3 triggers. We brought them back and the chef at the hotel restaurant whole fried the snapper and then made trigger tacos! I’ll tell you what the trigger was sone of the best fish I ever ate! I’m trying to plan a trip down to Fl this December to try to go out and catch me some more triggers! Lol :)

Another great video, I have seen the result of a trigger defending its nest, and attacking swimmers in the Maldives, and the victims had chunks taken out of their legs, we were asked to help spear it in the end as people were afraid to swim, which we did and had it curried for dinner. So Good!

I had no idea Trigger fish were trash fish. When travelling in Mexico I ate one as the Mexicans love eating them. It was great. Same with the Bermuda Chub I had in Jamaica.
We call those type of trigger fish “Black Old Wife/Wives Fish” in certain parts of the Caribbean . They supposedly taste better than the Queen Trigger fish variety.
