Freah blue crab is better than lobster to me but Gable blows away the flavor. All that head butter and the new shell growing up t in the corner of the carapse is delious. Even spread it on a peice of baugette. Yum.

I used to eat oysters. Catch a bad oyster as I once did in New Orleans and that food poisoning will instill an abundance of caution in you too. It’s why I skip them altogether these days. Too many toxic substances in our waterways to take the chance. I REALLY miss eating raw and fried oysters. 😢

Gabe, I've been getting together a fishing trip on the 10th of October out of Hubbard's Marina in Madeira Beach. It's their 10 hour trip to bottom fish, maybe you and Crystal might make it. So far there is 6-8 of us with possibly 4-6 more.
The smaller black drums are actually better to eat, bigger ones tend to be loaded with worms, cool video 👍

In Va/NC we used to get a whole Bushel of Steamed Blue Crabs on the table, Black Pepper in Vinegar and Pitchers of Ice Cold Beer.. sooo good. Plus Sea Side Salt Oysters raw, the Delicacy is the Little Crab that lives in the Oyster…
Great video yet again. Yall should try boiling blueclaw crab's cooked in a Marinara sauce or a Fra Diavolo sauce. First split the bodies and clean them good and the meat just comes right out of um when done. Or try the sauteed beer, butter and garlic way if you never have. Either way you won't be disappointed.

blue crabs molt on a full moon. Best and heaviest crabs are the days before full moon. As long as the shells are dirty, good chance the crab will be full of meat.

The thing about only eating oysters in months that end in R was started a long time ago just to keep people from harvesting them in the summer months when they are trying to spawn. You can eat them year round safely.
