I originally bought it in black and had it for 17 days before I brushed my arm up against the tile in the shower. After drying off, I was surprised to see that there was some titanium showing through on the top part of the bezel. This was standard tile, not diamond not sapphire so suffice it to say I was pretty shocked. I contacted Apple to discuss the durability of the DLC coating and after voicing my concerns I was offered to exchange it with the standard titanium version, and I’m very happy that I did. The black ruins the beauty of the watch because you lose a lot of the features whereas the natural titanium finish pops and shows every beautiful detail.
@@jasonandrew412 Something really strange... the scratch I showed in the video I couldn't get it off, it looked properly marked... be the watch seemed to self heal, it was so weird, but the end of the week I couldn't see the scratch!
@@BuckleAndBand I tried to massage it out, used magic eraser, tried everything but it was not material transfer, definitely titanium showing through.. glad I went with natural titanium
Bro, to be honest, the Ultra Silver color looks more good than the Ultra black. I purchased the Silver Ultra-2 😊. A change in the color to black made people more interesting in it, but Ultra Silver looks more beautiful to eyes. And also i need not worry on scratches 😊
I currently use a Suunto Core, and my favorite feature is the barometer-it alerts me to pressure drops, so I know a storm is coming without needing internet access. Can the Apple Watch Ultra do the same? If so, I’m ready to buy it now. If anyone knows please comment
Great video love your style flow and overall review aesthetic! I just bought the ultra 2 in black with the black trail loop and it looks and feels absolutely amazing. Totally worth it as a new Apple Watch user (this is my first). I’m 198lb and 5’10 with about 22% body fat and this watch looks great with sporty outfits as well as street / casual. I would feel confident wearing it in a business setting as well because it’s modern minimal classy looking with a touch of refined. Kind of like James Bond when he’s off duty in the mountains. Still sharp and fitted. But ready for tough stuff. My only complaint so far is the speaker volume when playing music seems really low when I’m outdoors and there is noise around me. Almost to the point where I wonder if the speaker is blown. Have to hold up to my ear to hear it even after telling Siri to max out the volume. It’s rare I use that (mostly to distract my kids) but it’s worth noting. Other than that. Go for it! You won’t regret it. ❤️
Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment! Glad you’re enjoying the Ultra 2-it sounds like a perfect fit for your style and lifestyle! The black with the trail loop definitely has that sleek, James Bond vibe you mentioned, and I agree-it’s such a versatile look that can pull off sporty, casual, and even business settings effortlessly. The speaker volume issue outdoors is a good callout! The speaker isn't always strong enough in noisy environments, so that’s useful feedback for anyone thinking of using it that way. Overall, though, it sounds like it’s been a solid upgrade and that you’re making the most of it. Thanks again for sharing your experience, and enjoy your new watch!
How does the on device Siri compare on the Ultra 2 vs the Ultra 1? I have an Ultra 1 (along with the dressier Series 10). And between the Ultra 1 & the series 10 I find the 10 has way more accurate and faster Siri. Was wondering if it made sense to trade in and upgrade to the an Ultra 2.
I should have recorded it on video, but yes I found Siri to be faster on the Apple Watch Ultra 1, than the ultra 2... I mean they're both quick but a work out would start half a second faster on the older one
@@BuckleAndBand That’s interesting. The older model has better Siri? I would have thought the Ultra 2 would be better because it’s on device rather than constantly looking to the phone or internet to handle everything. Ever since watchOS 11.1 I’ve found my Ultra 1 Siri to be very slow and always gets my iMessage dictation wrong.
Hey great question so I've been using the normal apple watches and ultras for years and I've never seen this happen? I can't speak on the AWU2 as I've not really had it long enough, but to be honest that would be covered by warranty I think
Definitely prefer the black its more sleek and classy ! The silver looks like a block of shiny metal which screams look at me - it isn’t very discreet . Another factor is jewellery, if people wear gold then black is the better option .
Absolutely agree! The black has that understated elegance-it's sleek without trying too hard, and pairs perfectly with different styles and jewelry, especially gold. The silver, while eye-catching, does tend to draw a lot of attention, which isn't always ideal. Black is subtle but sophisticated, making it a versatile choice for any look. Great points!
But when we wear an AWU, it’s not to look discreet 😂. I would love to see the stats on the type of customers having an UW. What’s the percentage of people that want an Apple Watch for 1st : what an Apple Watch offer and 2nd choose it mainly for sport… For sport, Garmin is way ahead. I’m quite sure that the vast majority of AWU are like me : choosing Apple over other smartwatches, because I am in Apple ecosystem with my other devices and/or because they are on top of the game. AND choosing the Ultra over the Series, because of the look (and the extra battery, but secondary even if that’s nice to have). Of course, it’s bulky and less confortable to wear comparing to other bulky watches and big Garmin are more confortable. I’m 100% sure that a Series 10 would feel more confortable to wear all day (I don’t feel it during the night), but I accept this little « inconvenience » because for myself, it’s really not annoying. And I didn’t wear watches for almost 20 years :-)
I had this watch for about a week and it wasn't the most comfortable thing to wear. It's big and clunky and I felt like I was wearing a chunk of metal on my wrist. It's definitely a cool looking watch but definitely NOT a joy to wear, at least for me anyway. I ultimately refunded it and bought an aluminum Series 10, and now I'm very happy with my watch.
Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like comfort was a major factor for you, and it’s great that you found something that fits your needs better with the Series 10. The heavier, chunkier watches definitely have a distinct style, but they’re not for everyone, especially if you prefer something lighter and more streamlined.

This is giving me serious Alan Partridge vibes !
Ahaaaaa!
The chip on this is old now, latest chips are S10, only on Series 10.
Looks great, I’m waiting for the Ultra 3.
Good choice!
Lovely video! Btw Is this filmed in Torquay? I think I recognise that beach!
Hi, Thank you! Yes it is, do you live in Cornwall?
No but I’ve holidayed there a few times. Lovely spot!
Got my like just to be at the ocean on that cold 😊
It was freezing but so refreshing!

Can i know is there any long term impact on swimming for AWU2? I heard cases where the apple watch SE2 doesn't function, went into infinite loop etc.

Also double the memory capacity and the ability to listen to music or podcasts on the Ultra-2 speaker. Can’t do that with the Ultra-1
Nice!

WTF! Over $400 for the buckle and band strap is insane! That's more than the Apple Milanese strap.
It’s $199 not $400?
This is a true Swiss strap (check how much a breitling strap is, and you’ll see the BB is a great deal!)
My AW1 and AW2 are useless when swimming...the display doesnt work wet..
Yes it’s good for viewing data though
Silver
Nice
black is nice, but I think you can see scratches in the watch on the black one. owns the other one
I’ve banged it against concrete walls and debris no scratches at all
Yes I was a bit worried about that, so far so good
