really hope the insurance companies watch this and decline claims on these cars! Otherwise we’re all paying for this from increased premiums
Cars driven through floods are not covered by insurance for any damage. Driver in floods near me destroyed his 4x4. even the AA charged him to tow it away.
I love paying increased premiums 😀
I love the sound of hydrolock in the morning..
I thought that following all our UK rain, that Tom must have lots of new material, glad to say, I wasn’t wrong. 💞
Aye, well I'm down in Melbourne, Australia and looking forward to doing this later today am when the flood rains hit! Queensland is already flooded so it'll be good to join in on the party! Isn't this normal weather just so much fun!
I love how loads of tiny hatchbacks were getting through, and the person in the rangerover that has nearly a metre of wading depth turned around and gave up.😂
Still the Smartest driver in the entire video haha
Until they started having problems from water getting into places it wasn’t supposed to.
This can’t be Birmingham, there is no shopping trolleys in the water
I can't stop watching these🤣🤣🤣🤣
Range Rover; this is too deep for me and I’ve shat out my number plate. plucky little Lupo; coming thruuuuuuuu 😂🎉
I can’t see insurance companies pay up if you deliberately driven through high water and flooded the car .
Especially now they have proof on video. 😂
Even with your lights on
Notice they're getting through?
Any car that can't handle a bit of water is a crap car...
@@daveofyorkshire301there’s a rule for entering flood water, if it’s reaching mid section of your wheels you don’t cross it. There’s no point risking it
@@RandomGuy-ej9gr whose rule, use that here you don't get anywhere...
Mid way is safe, you start worrying if it reaches your electrical system, and if it's a diesel your still OK, as I said if it can't handle it, it's a crap car...
Get a diesel and a snorkel and you drive through halfway up your windscreen...
Small cars were surprisingly good at passing through water puddles 😂.
Yeh , iam amazed they made it through
yeah, no kidding like that little Audi wagon at like 1:37
The bmw in front of me broke down on Friday, and I went past him in my MX5. It’s all about the placement of that air intake
many vehicles with modified air intakes here.
Yes! What Charma said! Have you got a new phone - excellent quality! Great ad for JCB!
post c-19 'pandemic' driving standards have certainly deteriorated. It is as if they have no spatial awareness ! Good video.
Meanwhile insurance companies watch these videos and are looking for reasons not to pay out.
Water logged undercarriage parts and air intakes. Damage comes later as symptoms worsen 😂
Absolutely fantastic work Tom as usual, keep it up mate. Can’t believe how many Thick people are walking amongst us 😂
Love watching these from your channel and BENGREGERS
I'm surprised so many made it through especially the ones at high speed with water so high at the front, the last one was done correctly. The worst one is when you make it through one and then find another deeper one 😂 But is it really worth the risk of ruining your car.
The last one was driving slowly! Amazing!
If you’ve got enough ground clearance on your car then it’s just a case of not going so fast take your bow wave doesn’t swamp the air intake. You don’t necessarily need a big four wheel drive to do that.
At least the last driver knew what they were doing.
Thank you, Tom!
All of these drivers were classed as "special educational needs" when in school. So THIS is what happened to those kids.
There was a 21 plate Mini, dead by the side of the road near me the other day next to the flood it had just tried to get through. .£30 k worth of car ruined, possibly without insurance paying up, for the sake of saving 10 minutes extra on a diversion..
Partly and probably the reason for the high increase in insurance costs on vehicles. Driving vehicles through what is technically a 'river', without a paddle and or outboard motor has got to be on the 'don't do it' list? My question to these.... people would be, why?
Fun fact, we pay for the damages too
@@ryans1147 .... hardly 'fun'?
Flood damage to a car is not covered by insurance. It is classed as self vandalism. (you chose to drive through it)
Imagine Sprinter man is delivering your Amazon parcels ? lol how wet must they have gotten lol
High revs, low gear.
2:55 😂😂 Car registration falls loose, lol
Even getting through, there is no guarantee all those little rubber grommets in the bulkhead where wires or actuating cables transition through from the cabin to the engine compartment, are fully waterproof. That means some small ingress of water, to the floor of the passenger cabin, and sometimes the ‘brain’ of the car is in a sealed box down there. You then are putting a lot of faith in that box being really hermetically sealed. It’s taking a risk, but many do similar, because of course, driving all the way back, is painfully slow, and this flooding is so widespread, I do wonder if you might not just encounter another flood? We are so not prepared for this much flooding, so widespread. Take care all.
Awesome video mate, could you put together a video showing us all the vehicles who know how to drive through properly, just to put my mind at rest lmao
Not sure there’s the market for that tbh.
People just want to see the idiots
1:05 the P plates 💀
..... meanwhile, trains are cancelled as the tracks are slightly damp
if I had these kind of road conditions where I live I would be having all kinds of fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.....like phoning around for a tow, estimates for repairs and or re-conditioned engines?......oh, and new socks and shoes.
Until you ran out of vehicles? 😉 don’t tell me you live mid Sahara Desert 🤗
@@freebirdh604 Gloucester.
At this point the weathers pretty much made a new Rufford Ford lol
Outstanding display of Inner and outer Mongolians
I have no idea what that means but I would like to know please...
I think that is an insult to Mongolians. A cold country in the middle of Asia almost certainly suffers much worse driving conditions.
4:43 Now there is a professional driver! Drives through a whole river & is only a few inches off the centreline coming out 🎉
. . . Im not sure driving without a seat belt and spinning the tyres of his company van technically qualifies him as a "professional" driver !!!
A real professional would of stayed in the centre of the road as all roads camber down to the left & right so the middle is higher than the sides of the road
tyres didnt spin@@golic7123
Haha, I lost my number plate like that and had to stay home alone at Christmas, as it was too late to get another 😂
I like the way you show the car sitting there lol
Common sense says don’t drive through water that deep!! Unfortunately, I’m struggling to meet people nowadays with any common sense…not very common 🤣🤪🤦🏻♂️
There seems to be a lot of people suggesting that drowning an engine by driving through deep water would result in an insurance claim?
I've never heard of someone claiming for seizing the engine due to no oil, or ragging it until it blows up, or a misfire eventually blowing a head gasket etc. So why would driving though water and drowning it be covered?
Deliberately driving into floodwater is classed as 'at fault' by insurance companies and your insurance would be null and void.
love how the first ad was for a scrap yard
The clip from 6:50 > is interesting.
You can get an idea of how the tread pattern displaces water.
I guess it's that oblivious "If I go through quick enough, it won't stop me" kinda consumer mentality, that makes these videos so thoroughly entertaining. 🤔😉
Watching these videos is now my life
The JCB was superb 👌
Great updates Tom happy new year 2024
Tom...do you have high waders in case you need to hook up a car to be pulled out ???...crazy people to drive thru high water.........thanks....great vid............
I do have a set waders but I’ll only use them unless I’m going to be in deep water all day
Pro tip; there are vents here and there so even if your car makes it through it doesn't mean you don't have water mixing with fluids.
Honestly it would be a lot less gratifying to see car failures here where there’s no depth gauge and no road closed sign. The true entertainment is when someone picks a side road they have no need to go down, ignores 3 parked cars with white smoke coming out, a “road closed - flood” sign, a depth gauge reading 2ft and a crowd of people pointing their cameras at them. RIP Rufford ford.
A Engine 95 Degres an exhoust an manifold 4-500 degres gehts in 2 sec coold down to 5 degrese.
Sorry my english
All of those Cars are bad in the Future
I live in Birmingham, where is this?
"Drive as fast as you can into it so the massive bow wave covers your entire bonnet and floods the engine....if you're lucky it may also rip off your number plate at the sane time....sorted."
Sometimes it is a relief to see ducks as they are the only signs of intelligent life existing in these places.
Funny thing is there are repair shops on both sides of this flood area and business is booming 😅😅
Cheers Tom! Happy New Year!
surprised it went well so many times !
Good effort for the Volkswagen up on the p plate
Why are some driving into the water so fast? That’s a good way of snapping the fins off of the radiator fan or just getting water up into the engine bay and electrics not to mention water into the differential through breather. The way to go is slow to create a bit of a bow wave then just keep going steady.
Cant wait for cybertruck test !!
This is just stupid , how uneducated & ridiculous, you must have deep pockets for repairs later down the line - just unbelievable . The Ford transit was sensible as it’s high up at least .
🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️ I’d think twice before I took my Boat through there, The Insurance companies should take a 👀 at this video too
Well. This is entertaining
I hope these videos are seen by insurance companies…. Why should the rest of us have to put up with increased premiums because of there stupidity 🤬
The RAV4 did it right , you go slow, Don’t let water go into the radiator. And u Keep your Number plates.
Well done to that new driver!!!!!
More luck than judgement
@@bikeman123 Yeah he just got lucky.
Why do the go full pelt in to it? It’s like a brick wall
what has this video taught me? Not to buy a second hand Merc or BMW anytime soon!!
As the air intake is right between the headlights, just below the bonnet, ploughing into shallow flood waters at speed make a wave directly into this intake at the front of the vehicle. All of these cars would have made it through, had it not been for the wave of inexperience. Go slow, make no wave and you will make it through the shallows. LOL
Even when there are flood warnings these people will park in flood areas.
Aber in diesem Land regnet es einfach mir zu viel! 😂😂😂
If in doubt just go flat out 😂😂😂😂😂
Well, it all depends on if a diesel or petrol car. Diesel is fine if the air intake is not submerged, petrol die if you pee on the engine.
Feel sorry for the punters that will ultimately be buying these cars in a few years.
With water being around 800 times more dense than air there’s no surprise these cars act like they’ve hit a wall when they enter the water at any speed much above a crawl.
Someone please go tell the red Peugeot about their missing number plate
Don’t worry, he has 3 now
@@TomSunderland 😂🤣
C1 / Aygo / 107 have the air intake right at the top of the engine which is why I’ve never seen one get stranded on any of these flood videos, no matter how incompetent the driver!!
I guess most of the drivers don’t pay for their vehicles
car plus road ...........boat = river😂
Welcome to numpty Britain.
Almost all were successful??
were about in Birmingham is this ?
If they had a thought it would die of isolation.
Wait... "buses and coaches". What is the difference in the UK? Here in New England the only difference is travel distance, but we call them all busses in practice.
edit: typo
Must be a whole lot of ludicrous thoughts going on inside these peoples head😂
Or none at all!!!!
@@mikelove6502 lol
the trick is to not go faster then your bow wave, have a lifted 4WD and a snorkel.
imagine if england could actually build a road that doesnt go through a literal river. we call these bridge but they are yet to discover those
Plenty of bridges around, fords are much more fun
So a road floods once every few years for a day or so and you want taxpayers to foot the bill for a civil engineering project costing millions just because a few dozen dunces think they can drive their cars through deep water? Get real.
If desperate enough to cross I'd just reverse through at max power😅
We have insurance in case we make ‘mistakes’, however stupid or avoidable.
How a electric car would do going through a lot of deep water like those cars
These drivers are total buffoons..!
Pretty much all made it through quite nicely. Did you not see??
They're probably stolen cars in Birmingham, hence the higher speeds!
When you have no idea what is under that water driving through it is stupid for most vehicles.
THIS IS SUCH A BAD IDEA. You don’t know if you’ll hit an underwater obstruction and, unless you’re very familiar with the road, it’s easy to underestimate the depth. I had a neighbor who tried to drive on a flooded highway. She abounded the car when the water was up to the glass and getting deeper. The deepest flooding that day was ten feet over the pavement.
Probably all end up on auto trader 😂
3:14 textbook
Stupidity beyond belief
Just a bit of seepage
Why so much speed...its like they want to get stranded 🙄
JCB is great lol when are car drivers going to learn? Slow in, Rev engine and slip clutch. if in automatic turn around.
Not one of the testing their brakes after.
Exactly, many speeding off as they are so proud of themselves 🙄
Dont you realise how important they are lol
My 8yr girl asking why they are driving that fast. What should i tell her?
Ok .
So even if your makes it through then i guarantee you your alternator will get ruined with water and the belts will quickly shorten there life.
Cars are only designed to take spray not submerged
