The first thing I warn about these type of piercings is there is a huge risk of tooth damage. I have had 18 year olds that have straight out said ”I can get dentures.” I have to keep my mouth from falling to the floor and my eyes Rolling to the back of my head. I refuse to knowingly damage others teeth.
I have gotten that response. Though I have had clients that refused to remove jewelry from misplaced labret and lip piercings even though their gums had began to show signs of damage. I had one flat out tell me, "the only reason you want me to take out is because you didn't do the piercing."

You need to consider the placement of this piercing and the structure of the mouth. Unlike a lip piercing or a beauty mark, the back of the jewelry is right where your front teeth meet. You should be wishing that piercers that care enough about their clients and are ethical, refuse to do high risk piercings like this one even if it's cute. As they should be informing their clients to the risks of all oral piercings.
I liked the look of the Ashley, but didn't want the problems with teeth, biting the bar, etc so I got a vertical labret and when I want it to look more like an Ashley I either put a small ball on the bottom of the curved barbell or a flat disk on the bottom. Then it looks more like an Ashley, but has none of the issues.
I thought the Ashley was stylish and different. No one is walking around with it. So I decided to get. And I've have it for 8months. And I have a front gab it doesn't get caught or nothing. Now I want to change my ball smaller and I want to get it clean. I think it still healing on the right side. Now my cousin went and got hers done and it Reject it. And the guy how did my piercing told me it might shifted so he made it a bit uneven and over the months its been perfectly Positioned. Now I am worried about working after the pandemic. Ive had mine for a year. Does anatomy matter? Mine fits perfectly against the back of my lip. It has never hit my front teeth and rarely the back disc sits on my bottom teeth and snags some but its happened twice when i was eating aggressively. Love mine and hopefully wont have to let it go
I’m so sorry and I have to say this. This guy is very informative and I think it’s great he’s helping people out warning them of the risks of getting certain piercings that might not be good for you. However, this guy will say no to almost every piercing you want if it’s not like a nose or regular ear or tongue piercing. He will say all those cool cute ones are bad and not to get them. Notice, he doesn’t have many himself….
Well him being "informative" is literally just saying the risk that comes with any oral piercing while refusing to explain how proper placement will negate all of the risk. I don't believe this is a proper piercer since he can't even explain something an apprentice piercer would.
As a responsible and experienced piercer I feel that it is my responsibility to refuse to do any piercing that is at a high risk of causing damage. Regardless of how cute they maybe. I have a number f piercing that are just not visible.
@@bhadj1285 yes an inexperienced piercer, who hasn't seen first hand the damage experimental piercings this can do, will be happy to do this and many other dangerous piercings. I value my client's long term health to do these piercings. I'm sure that there are plenty of piercers that will claim that there is a magic placement that will eliminate risk but the reality is unless the person's anatomy is prefect, there is no placement that will completely avoid contact with teeth. Especially with the longer post during the swelling.
A regular lip piercing touches your gums and teeth, a tongue piercing is risky too if you don’t ask the piercer to do it so it won’t touch your teeth…solution, when the swelling goes down or when the piercing is healed and you decide you want different jewelry…switch to bioplast that way you will not have metal to risk damaging your smile.
Yes but it isn't located right where the teeth come together and can be adjusted to limit contact. Bioplastic can also cause damage with the add risk of it possibly being toxic.
I was wondering if a surface dermal could be placed in the lip for a fake Ashley Piercing look it seems that that would work since it is a good bit of skin. I don’t see why it would reject and you still get the look of the ball being on the lip without it going all the way through the tooth I’m going to look into that alternative.
I have had my Ashley & my tongue for 5 years. In my city there are only two tattoo and piercing shops that have reputable piercer‘s and also sell quality jewelry no cheap shit, never put Spencer / cheap jewelry it will eat your lip & the risk of migration is higher. Btw mine is super straight, healed amazing 😉 & my job doesn’t mind :)
I love the look of the Ashley piercing. But never will get one. There are other piercings I want to get. Easier to find cons than pros for this piercing. I laughed at your comment "It's a piercing......that's cool, right?" Love your videos. Keep up the great work.
I had it done think took it out for an interview. When i went back they said they dont do it anymore as they had a lot of rejection. I told her i didnt have any issues except for the intial piercing the bar was too small and my lip swallowed it. They changed the bar. Ive had it for well over 7 years no issues. Mine healed straight with no issues. But everybody is different. I lovee this piercing.
what about the ones that go through the lip and into the lower lip line but doesn't go into the mouth? Are there different risks/cons to them? I have been considering getting one of them down but i don't want it to go into my mouth. This video has been extremely helpful thank you!!!
I just got this piercing a few weeks ago. Noticed it was pierced at an angle on the inside (when I got home). Lots of swelling did occur and the biggest thing, EATING SUCKS during the swelling process. I’ve bitten the bar while chewing fast and when I’m mainly unconscious of trying to eat carefully with it. Last week I was eating something and the bar end got bitten down into my tooth 😩 so now I have a small dent in my tooth( not noticeable thank god). I will say if I’d seen this video before I got it I wouldn’t have gotten it. I am learning to get used to it and how to work around it, I do really like it on me as well. Definitely do your research but aside from this I haven’t had much of an issue with the healing.
Any oral piercing can damage your gums and teeth tho I have a Monroe piercing and it rubbed away part of the gum on the tooth that was behind the flat part of the bar I also had my tongue pierced and was constantly biting the bar by mistake when eating at first which could have easily cracked a few teeth so that is a risk with any piercing that's around or in your mouth not just this one.
I use to have a Ashley Piercing but I got rid of it because it was a Nuisance and I didn't want to have Damage to my Front Teeth I now have a plain Side Labret
Is the vertical labret prone to migration and rejection too then? as it's basically the same piercing just an opposite angle though the lip i ended up with the vertical labret because I didn't trust the local pircing shop to do a Ashley with it being experimental. I do kind of regret it as the Ashley is so much nicer but it's still my favourite pircing so.. tho I will say I had a horrible time healing it as with the lip being soft tissue the ball manage to slightly inbed in to my lip even with no swelling then the bottom whole got a irritation bump, luckily it has mostly healed now and its straight thank god as there was a few moments I thought it was gonna be wonky lol
On the bottom of your lip there is thicker tissue. Thus a vertical is less likely to reject or migrate because it's anchored behind it. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching.
I have a vertical labret and my lower lip is full so when I wear a disk or small ball on the bottom of the curved barbell it's almost hidden so it looks more like an Ashley, but it's completely outside the mouth so you don't run the risk of damaging your teeth. I absolutely adore my vertical labret. It's my favorite of all my piecings.
I got mine done awhile back and it lasted a day. The girl that pierced it didn't put a larger "bar" in it for the swelling and it got imbedded in my lip.. I was kind of wreckless and went to the mall. It wasn't even what I wanted 😂 mistakes were made
I got it done and love it had it for a month alrdy and so in love just gotta be carefully when u first get it done it’s obviously sensitive so ya but if u want go for it
I notice that the risk of rejection is a lot higher than other oral piercings that are “similar”. Like the vertical labret piercing is a lesser risk of rejection, but it is also a surface piercing. Is there an anatomical reason for this? Is the flesh a lot more hardy/ deep vertically than horizontally? (Just a note, I don’t consider myself to know anything, but I am very interested in piercing and I am educating myself) :)
I got a double helix one with a straight bar and the other with a curved barbell i don’t sleep on my piercing however the straight barbell is inflamed and the flat back has started to sink into my ear skin is starting to grow over where it is sinking at! what are my options ... i have been doing sea salt soaks icing it down to help with swelling while it does help with the tension and eases the pain for a few hours it has a stinging sensation and pus that is whitish with some blood from the wound I’ve tried to remove it myself but swelling isn’t allowing it
It would best to put a longer post in. It's hard to say what is going on but swelling beyond the length of the jewelry creates this cycle. The body reacts to the short jewelry like it would trauma and keeps producing swelling as a reaction. Sadly about the option is replacing the jewelry or removing the jewelry.
Body Piercing & Tattooing okay than you i was thinking it was to short or my ear just swelled more than normal as i have quite a few piercing from triple forward to Tragus conch and this has never happened to me before so i will look into getting a long post because this is causing me agony
Omg I'm so sad. I've been wanting a facial piercing for a while and chose this one...but I didn't know this stuff...sigh now I'll have to choose another. It would drive me NUTS if it went off center
Have mine for about 6 months and it has a little white bump that just formed on the inside of my lip 😩I love this piercing and don’t want to take it out ,how do I get rid of the bump?
I need your opinion please! So I have alot of piercings none have caused me any trouble. However my 5 week old 3 and 4 lobe piercings, are really angry at me for some reason. I'm guessing because I slept on them for the first time. I woke up and my lobe is red, swollen and a bit sensitive. I clean my piercings regilouisly morning and before bed. I know you can't see them of course. Do you think after 5 weeks they would still be swollen from the pressure? Need peace of mind. Thank you!
This is a reaction to the trauma caused by sleeping on the piercings. At six weeks, they are more than likely not healed. What are you using to clean the piercings?
@@BodyPiercingTattooing why wouldn't it? After you shorten the bar and replace with the jewelry with a bioflex one, I would think it wouldn't hit your teeth and gums anywhere near the stainless steel jewelry.
Is it possible to hit something in the bottom lip like a vein or artery? My fteind seems to think the piercer hit a vein but I done think that's possible
😂sorry but this made me laugh! Why not a vertical labret? I did mine today and i love it! If you put a small ball on the under side and a nice stone or something on the uper it will look like a ashley! :)
i am in need of help/advice… I really want a lip piercing but I’m stuck in deciding between Ashley, vertical labret, or labret. can someone tell me which one to get please!! 🥰🖤 :)) :p
I honestly think that somebody decided they liked the labret without sometimes looking like you have a goatee lol, that was the only reason I started doing research on an Ashley was because I liked the look of the vertical labret but not all the time
What length should the swelling bar be? I want mine done with a curved flat disc labret most piercers don’t use them so I have to order my jewelry then get the piercing.
It completely depends on your anatomy. The rule of thumb is the thickness of the tissue plus at least 1/8th of an inch. However, I do not advise doing it yourself.
so i got my ashley done a few days ago and the part that’s inside my mouth, the circle part kinda goes inside my skin where it rests a little bit (idk if this makes sense) but idk if this is a problem or not
This is a sign that it is swelling beyond the length of the jewelry. If it is later in the healing it could be nesting but either way keep a close eye on it.
Hi Davo! I had mine done a little bit ago and I had it on for about 8 months. I loved it! Looked gorgeous on me ❤️ I had no problems with it touching or hitting my teeth as my pierce placed it spot on and changed my labret to a shorter one after three months which made it snug.. and perfect. I took it off a month ago sadly because it was difficult for me in my private life 😬 and that is the only reason why I took it off.
Your one of the lucky ones and it's my experience that the longer you have the piercings the more issues you see. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Same here girl !! It never bothered my teeth and it healed perfectly 😭 but it caused a issue where I hurt .... my partner .... lol I got it again I’ve had it for a month again no problems but I’m debating on taking it off 😭
Guadalupe Rodriguez lol 😂 girl I feel your pain. I am contemplating on getting the other Ashley where instead of it being inverted the ball goes from under your lip over the other side but isn’t directly inside your mouth.
Give it time, it will begin to cause damage elsewhere. I really don't understand re-piercing piercings you have had issues with over and over thinking the outcome is going to be different.
If you are talking about the bottom lip, it's a vertical labret, the top a jestrum. Jestrums tend to have more issues and rely heavily on having the right anatomy.
Thank you. Yes, it is on the list of piercings, I won't do. I always try to take the time to explain to clients why I won't do a piercing. Education is one of the most important parts of piercing. Sometimes it's even more important with riskier piercings you don't ethically feel comfortable doing.
Oh I thought you were talking about some kind of jewelry. Often the internet will rename something a number of times. I'm guessing that it will effect the angle and placement. Which may increase contact with teeth and gums once it wears off.
@Body Piercing & Tattooing experience wiz good. Same piercer iv had for a while. But pretty much painless swallow lip for a few dayz now. It seems to b going down now. Also I expect a swallow lip for a few dayz or so.

Hey, Davo! Great video! I’ve always thought Ashley piercings were cute, but they definitely are just asking for damaged teeth. 😬 do they scar a lot as well? Also, I was wondering if the risks are the same for horizontal labret piercings minus the tooth damage. Do you do those or do they have too many issues?
Yes there will be scarring. Horizontal lip piercings are a surface to surface piercing through soft tissue. So, there is a high risk of rejection and migration.
Body Piercing & Tattooing would you possibly consider doing a video on them? I’ve actually seen one in person and thought it looked cool, but I don’t know how practical it would be.
I'll consider it. I have a body piercing basics planned that covers the difference between established piercings and experimental piercings. However, I should do one that covers surface to surface piercings.
I've heard from the Piercer that I know that if the piercer placed the piercing right and if the jewelry is right then there will be no problem having an Ashley piercing is that true?
I suggest a vertical labret. In my eyes, they’re absolutely gorgeous, regardless of lip size. It’s still a piercing in the center but it doesn’t come in contact with your teeth (if I am correct).
I love my vertical labret! I've had it since July of last year and I get tons of compliments about it (usually on Instagram since we're still wearing masks everywhere). I've never bitten down on it and it has never contacted my teeth. It was hard for me not to wear lipstick for 8 weeks but it was worth it.
It is about likelihood of it happening. Ex: a vertical tongue pierce has the potential for chipping teeth. People can bite on it. Some people do, some don't ( although the majority do get at least 1 chip). A horizontal tip of the tongue piercing will DEFINITELY chip the teeth over and over. As he said, piercers try to put in labret lip piercings so that they are positioned so they don't damage the teeth ( although they can cause erosion of the gums). He didnt say "regular" lip piercings don't/can't cause oral damage, he is saying it is far more likely with the Ashley piercing, which is my I juxtapose the vertical tongue with the horizontal to show a similar occurence of potential damage.
Just stumbled on your channel now, what a great to the point and impartial video :) I was considering this but I do have weak teeth so I don't think it would be a good idea - so thank you for the insight!
I’ve been having my Ashley piercing for a month now and I just recently got a bump on the inside of my lip, is there anything I can do to get rid of this?
Yes but plastic is hard enough to cause just as much damage to teeth and gums. As there is the added possible risks of ingesting plastic and having it in your body.
@@Sarah-xd5cq It depends on the size of your lips. Bc people say the same with a Medusa but mine doesn’t hit my teeth often. And I’ve asked girls with lips like mine and they said the Ashley doesn’t hit their teeth
Hahah I watched One of the same video for before I got my smiley and you didn’t recommend it and not then one hahah but thank you they’re very education
My goal is that you understand the risks going in. Sadly there are a number of piercers out there that won't even discuss the risks at all before doing the piercing. I'm hoping to change that.
Just buy you a pack of gems that stick on your face and stick one to the middle of your bottom lip. Then you get the look of it without all of the complications lol. I do think they are hella cute but I could never have a gaping scar in the middle of my bottom lip. Definitely not for me but I can see the appeal.
i’ve had mine for about 3 months (did it myself), and i’ve actually had a lot of luck with the healing thank god, but it did shift up higher than where i pierced it. I don’t mind it, but it did happen, so if you get yours done, maybe pierce it lower... and the worse thing about having it is that it always gets caught on my teeth and i’m definitely worried one day it will chip. but for now, it’s super cute and i’m okay with being a dumbass lmao
Proper placement exists and not everything you've just heard of is a "trend" my dude. If you think this is a bad and damaging piercing while thinking any other lip piercing is ok, I wouldn't advise trusting a word you say 🤷🤷
Sorry but the location places the jewelry at a higher risk with both the top and bottom front teeth. With other oral piercings, the placement can be adjusted to where the contact with teeth and gums can be reduced. Also there is increased issues with the piercing migrating.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing you just explained how you're wrong. With any oral piercing including an Ashley the placement can be adjusted and pierced at angles that decrease the possibility of the jewelry rubbing against the teeth or gums. The only real issue with any piercing that goes through the actual lip is migration but that's just something that happens with more than just lip piercings so it's just something to keep in mind.
OK if you do a lower lip piercing with a labret, it is done usually above or below the gum line. It is only going to have contact with the lower teeth or lower him. If you raise that to the area above the border, than the contact is not just the lower teeth but also the upper front teeth. Much in the same way there is increased contact with cheek piercings. This greatly increases the likelihood of the person biting down on the disk. Yes, this can be reduced with shorter jewelry but since main people suck and draw their lips in when they eat, it continues. Additionally talking and how the mouth moves with doing so, increases contact with teeth. Migration and impacting is also an increased risk with this piercing. Partly because of how the back tends to dig into the tissue. To have the disc to sit flat, the angle would have to be off. The also increases the risk of catching on teeth. I think piercers are justifying doing a piercing without advise clients of all the risks involved with getting the piercing. Which is unethical and dangerous.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing every piercing needs to have a person's anatomy considered. There's people who shouldn't really have any lip piercings but most piercers still seem willing to do it because any oral piercing can be dangerous and the risks should always be discussed. Trying to act like an Ashley is any different or more dangerous than other lip piercings is just not true. And again, migration is something that happens to lots of different piercings, it's just something to know before going into it but it's not a dangerous thing.
I think you are trying to convince yourself that it isn't a higher risk piercing than others. It simply has more contact than other oral piercings. Yes, it comes down to anatomy but it also comes down to the piercings location. Since you believe this, I'm guessing you think that a snake eye piercing is not going to cause any more damage than a midline tongue piercing.
So I understand that this can be an irritant to your teeth but so can a tongue piercing, yet you chose to get that one and you thought that one was worth the risk? Just curious where the difference lies.
My tongue piercing is at least 5/8 or more of and inch away from my teeth. An Ashley piercing is either a millimeter away from your teeth or in constant contact. It's a massive difference in risk.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing ok I guess that makes sense. Just was a little confused cause I’ve heard a lot of people who have tongue piercings end up having to take them out from it hitting the backs of their teeth. I loveeeee the Ashley and want to get it but just want to figure out if it’s worth it. Do you have any information on scarring after removal? Also, if I need to have something clear in for work, do they make jewelry that is clear thag I could wear in it?
There really isn't anything that can be worn in the piercing that wouldn't be noticeable. There would be scarring and will look about the same as the piercing would look empty. With the tongue piercing, even with the back teeth the jewelry is much further than it would be with the Ashley piercing. The main issue is when eating and moving food around in the mouth. This risk is increased by not downsizing to the short jewelry and playing with the piercing.

I don't think it would last long. Dermals tend to reject faster in areas where there is a lot of movement.
You are one of the lucky ones but keep a close eye on your front teeth. If so notice damage or they become sensitive, remove the Ashley piercing asap.
Thank you for always educating !! I watch your videos before any piercing I get !!
You're welcome and thank you for watching. I'm always glad to help.
Thank you for sharing your experience and watching. You are one of the lucky ones.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing yes!! I researched my piercer also and asked questions. But they did stop doing them due to all the things you stated.
That's the point of these videos, making an educated decision.
what about the ones that go through the lip and into the lower lip line but doesn't go into the mouth?
Thank you for sharing your experience. My suggestion is downsizing may reduce contact before the piercing causes more damage.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing thank you ! The piercer told me I had to have this one for 3-6 weeks ? I’m on week 4 that sound about right ?
Yeah 4 weeks is a good time to downsize.
update ?
Any oral piercing can damage your gums and teeth tho I have a Monroe piercing and it rubbed away part of the gum on the tooth that was behind the flat part of the bar I also had my tongue pierced and was constantly biting the bar by mistake when eating at first which could have easily cracked a few teeth so that is a risk with any piercing that's around or in your mouth not just this one.
However, some piercing will have a great more contact with teeth like this one.
I use to have a Ashley Piercing but I got rid of it because it was a Nuisance and I didn't want to have Damage to my Front Teeth I now have a plain Side Labret
Thank you for sharing your experience and watching.
Thank you sir!! You convinced me not to get it. I’ve been complimented on my smile too often to ruin it for being reckless 😅🥰🙂
You're welcome and I'm glad the video helped you to make an educated decision.
It wasn't even what I wanted 😂 mistakes were made
Well, at least now you know and have a better chance of getting a great piercing in the future. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching.
I got it done and love it had it for a month alrdy and so in love just gotta be carefully when u first get it done it’s obviously sensitive so ya but if u want go for it
Also it doesn’t touch my teeth so ya it’s a flat back
Did you have any trouble eating at first and did it get better
@@toniledesma9043 No I did not have trouble eating at all and it did get better honestly I love my piercing and I’m glad I got it
I notice that the risk of rejection is a lot higher than other oral piercings that are “similar”.
I got a double helix one with a straight bar and the other with a curved barbell i don’t sleep on my piercing however the straight barbell is inflamed and the flat back has started to sink into my ear skin is starting to grow over where it is sinking at! what are my options ... i have been doing sea salt soaks icing it down to help with swelling while it does help with the tension and eases the pain for a few hours it has a stinging sensation and pus that is whitish with some blood from the wound
I’ve tried to remove it myself but swelling isn’t allowing it
It would best to put a longer post in.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
Omg I'm so sad. I've been wanting a facial piercing for a while and chose this one...but I didn't know this stuff...sigh now I'll have to choose another. It would drive me NUTS if it went off center
Glad to help and I'm happy to hear that the video helped you make an educated decision.
if you say you don’t recommend it i won’t do it i watched your smiley video a couple years ago and got lucky and only have minimal gum damage
U can put a silicone backing on after it heals to protect your teeth
I really doubt it will make any difference.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing why wouldn't it? After you shorten the bar and replace with the jewelry with a bioflex one, I would think it wouldn't hit your teeth and gums anywhere near the stainless steel jewelry.
Devo, is this the piercing in the middle of lip which I see offen with a ring? Or is that something else?
That’s a different piercing, the Ashley goes through the lip. The one you’re talking about goes through the skin under the lip line
I got mines done ago I have yet to find jewelry to fit what mm can I get
it really depends on your anatomy. I would suggest seeing your piercer and getting the correct size.
Is it possible to hit something in the bottom lip like a vein or artery? My fteind seems to think the piercer hit a vein but I done think that's possible
I feel like a lot of this can be negated by putting a rubber backing on?? Right?
No rubber or plastics only add the additional risk of introducing toxic substances into your body.
I would use glass, plastics aren’t really that great. You have no way of telling what chemicals are used in them.
@countrysidecoffins2925 glass could still damage your teeth so that wouldn't work for erosion or biting. I do understand what you're saying though
@@kristen4137 this is true lol but glass also gives a lot faster than steel
The key is proper placement and correct jewelry sizing. Nothing else will help reduce damage.
I love the set of pros on this one lol
It's a good thing my lower is really thick an it's not even bumping into my teeth
Sounds like you have the anatomy that works with this piecing
What if I’m trying to hide a messed up tooth?😂 I have a tooth that never fully grew in && I feel like this piercing would help with my confidence?
😂sorry but this made me laugh! Why not a vertical labret? I did mine today and i love it! If you put a small ball on the under side and a nice stone or something on the uper it will look like a ashley! :)
If you don’t like your teeth why would you draw more attention to them?
Piercing is all about improving how you look and feel about your body. Regardless if it makes you feel better, then do it.
Would one have the same issues with the plastic labret rings instead of metal?
It is hard plastic, so yes there is still a risk of damage.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing this is going to sound dumb, but what about dermals in the lip?
Dermals have their own issues and do not do well in areas where there is a lot of movement.

A lot of piercings. The biggest difference is that those piercings actually don't have the number of issues that this piercing has.
I love my Ashley piercing.
Well, make sure to remove it as soon as the teeth damage starts.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing I will
where do you get the jewelry for yours?
I'd like to get a faux rook, however I'm confused if a flat piercing is that same as a faux rook. What's the difference?
i am in need of help/advice… I really want a lip piercing but I’m stuck in deciding between Ashley, vertical labret, or labret. can someone tell me which one to get please!! 🥰🖤 :)) :p
As far as risks, vertical labret is the least likely to damage teeth and gums.
I want this with a dermal anchor would u recommend a anchor instead??
I don't really think it would stay. Dermals work best when the area is flat.
I honestly think that somebody decided they liked the labret without sometimes looking like you have a goatee lol, that was the only reason I started doing research on an Ashley was because I liked the look of the vertical labret but not all the time
I never thought labret piercings looked like goatees. Maybe the lower ones and with a huge piece of jewelry.
Lol Trust me I don’t plan on doing it myself I’m not that brave ,but thank you so much for the advice !
so i got my ashley done a few days ago and the part that’s inside my mouth, the circle part kinda goes inside my skin where it rests a little bit (idk if this makes sense) but idk if this is a problem or not
Ive gotten the Ashley piercing twice and I thought something was wrong when that was happening to me too but it shouldn’t be a problem
Me too it’s going in front the front and back though 🙃🙃
Best video on the subject. We never do it at our shop. And I'm going to show this amazing video to our customers
Thank you. Yes, it is on the list of piercings, I won't do. I always try to take the time to explain to clients why I won't do a piercing. Education is one of the most important parts of piercing. Sometimes it's even more important with riskier piercings you don't ethically feel comfortable doing.
I know it's dumb...but I want one 🤣 or any lip piercing really. but I have fillers. anyone know if I can get a lip piercing with fillers?
What are fillers?
@@BodyPiercingTattooing lip fillers :)
Oh I thought you were talking about some kind of jewelry. Often the internet will rename something a number of times. I'm guessing that it will effect the angle and placement. Which may increase contact with teeth and gums once it wears off.

Love an actual professional piercer who will be honest and refuse to do shit piercings rather than just take dumb people's money lol.
I've heard from the Piercer that I know that if the piercer placed the piercing right and if the jewelry is right then there will be no problem having an Ashley piercing is that true?
It will only reduce the risk of issues. It is still a piercing that has a much higher risk.

I suggest a vertical labret. In my eyes, they’re absolutely gorgeous, regardless of lip size. It’s still a piercing in the center but it doesn’t come in contact with your teeth (if I am correct).
You are correct and it is a better option.
Thank you for sharing your experience and watching the videos.
If your worried about tooth damage why do you have a tongue piercing.... worst piercing for that. Might as well expect to crack your tooth.
No unlike an Ashley my tongue is much further away from my teeth. This piercing is in direct contact.
Well put.
You can get teeth damage with a tongue piercing. Depending on the tongue you have it.
Just stumbled on your channel now, what a great to the point and impartial video :)
I was considering this but I do have weak teeth so I don't think it would be a good idea - so thank you for the insight!
I’ve been having my Ashley piercing for a month now and I just recently got a bump on the inside of my lip, is there anything I can do to get rid of this?
It’s probably already gone now but rinse with warm salt water, if it’s still there I hope you took it out or went to a professional😌
I have a question. Couldn’t someone just use plastic jewelry for this piercing?
Yes but plastic is hard enough to cause just as much damage to teeth and gums. As there is the added possible risks of ingesting plastic and having it in your body.
Can you do a video on the mandible piercing it looks scary
I'll consider it but it is one of those piercings that I have no interest in even considering doing.
Well I mean, can’t all oral piercings cause teeth damage?
Yes…but the other ones have more space…its another place… the ashley sits just on your front teeth!

That is one way of achieving the look without all the cost or risks.
“ do a lot of enamel damage and enjoy” LOOOOL 😂😂😂 I’m done 😂😭😭

@TIA WARRICK is it still good?
i’ve had mine for about 3 months (did it myself), and i’ve actually had a lot of luck with the healing thank god, but it did shift up higher than where i pierced it. I don’t mind it, but it did happen, so if you get yours done, maybe pierce it lower... and the worse thing about having it is that it always gets caught on my teeth and i’m definitely worried one day it will chip. but for now, it’s super cute and i’m okay with being a dumbass lmao
Chances are that if you pierce below it will migrate back through that soft scar tissue.
If I learn I could loose my teeth because of this piecing. It will be a no go for me..
