Looking good! I bought a CC1fairly recently and got a little discouraged at my learning pace. Seeing these videos come up has in a way inspired me to continue on the journey of typing at the speed of thought!
OMG OMG OMG! So excited for the final design! Though I was initially a bit sad that the thumbsticks were moved from a bolt-on to an integrated part, I can see that there is a rail at the hand. I'm thinking of printing a custom bolt-on that will arch above that and hold a trackball. Tough to see how/where else I'd put a trackball so that I can still reach it. No matter what though, I'm super excited for it. Ordered it weeks ago and cannot wait to see how it all goes! Keep up the great work; we appreciate you all!
Ooh, I did just notice that the forge keyboard website still says 105 backers. It's been that way for weeks, well before I made my order, so there should be at least 1 more backer on there! ;)
really enjoying watching this journey unfold. I am completely confused by the prototype, tho. It looks like only two buttons for the thumb now. And the home row looks like it is arcing in the wrong direction, i.e., concave rather than convex. Am I mistaken?
Great questions, yes the M4G requires one less 3D switch than CC1 due to the mouse functionality transitioning to analog via bolt-ons. You're also correct that the finger plate is concave rather than convex like CC1 however this part of the device does not contact your fingers on either. The PCB with the switches where your fingers make contact on both devices is flat
Watching Riley use the CharaChorder One, I'm getting the idea that you're supposed to arch your hands above it, like you're supposed to do when playing the piano. How much I'll be able to actually *do* that is yet to be seen; I'm very lazy. :P
The prints in this video were made by a Bambu X1 Carbon. As someone who's been 3D printing for about as long as 3D printing has existed I've been completely blown away by this machine, especially for the value. I have used printers which cost 6 figures that are nowhere close to the performance and quality

You can do it!

IMO the third button for the thumb on the CC1 is not necessary anyway, its to hard to use properly. I really like the new design.
@@MrKyllenbeck I agree.
Hi there, why all the sharp edges on something that's going to go in your hand?
The edges are not sharp, nor do they go in your hand. Great question

What kind of 3D printer are you using to achieve such high quality prints? Is it just a high quality carbon fiber filament that's essential?

Can't wait to get it in your hands 😁
Nice
Niceeee
Is this better than the charachorder one?
Bro... That question is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child
