Makes total sense. People know they can find info but want the confirmation that what they are learning is correct. The buyer needs to be able to say - "I get it!"
very helpful. I've been running an online course for 2.5 years. We're close to hitting 1M in sales, but this helps synthesize and remind us of things we've learned.
Hey! From long I have been thinking of launching a course. Can you help or assist me with that!? Would be very helpful if you share some of your experience with me. What's your tg?
I do totally get it. Knowing that people are buying a result they want, not a course or even a service, helps me understand how to approach selling them. And it forces me to be very clear on what problem I’m solving for them. Thanks Pat!
I never comment on videos, I've watched 100s if not 1000s, but I WAS HIGHLY MOTIVATED TO PUT THE COMMENT that- YOU'VE SOLVED ONE OF MY BIGGEST QUERY in this video, which i've been finding it all over youtube for last few weeks!! You are awesome Pat!
Thank you. This helps with understanding why someone would buy a course when a lot of info is already out there. Convenience to find the info all in one place. Makes sense!
Thank you. Great tips & Tic Tacs! My first course is launching in little over a month and I was lying if I said I wasn't scared to death. But I'm prepared!
Hey Pat ! Yep, online courses are the best, if u can create a good course. The great thing is that now, almost any niche can be profitable. Only need to build an audience !
Kevin V. Philippe This is true but your presentation can be a deciding factor. I saw a course on Skillshare about making courses for Skillshare. The presentation left a great deal to be desired. It was very monotonous, halting and left me with the impression the presenter had not taken the time to learn his lines. I battled on to the end, after three attempt, but I did not find it easy or enjoyable. Needless to say I am in no rush to watch any more of his courses. He could probably benefit from some of Pat's courses.
Excelente! Soy un creador de Cursos OnLine para restaurantes y voy a iniciar pronto su promoción. Sus consejos me parecen muy inteligentes y lógicos y siento que van a ser de gran ayuda para mi. Gracias!
Sending Blessings Pat...im still at it, it's getting exciting over here...looking into, Spreaker vs Lypsen..storage wise...cost wise, so studying that...fun sidenote my husband is starting to say, 'Well what's Pat think....?' When I bring up a question, he didn't know I was watching your online course...lol showed him your vids yesterday, 'He is a good teacher!', he says...and yup you are! He is 62 I'm 56...we are GOING to do this! So excited..Thanks Pat!!!
Thanks, Pat! This content helps me alot! I am an especialist in videomarketing here in Brazil and what the most people want to know is: how to sell my on line couse. So I teach them how 'I' do with mine. Thank you again!
I Get It! Like the "convenience" angle. I'm offering a complete and focused product that will save the prospect weeks and maybe months of research! Thanks Pat.
Talk about good timing. Myself and my partner are looking to do a number of online courses, so this is very timely. The first one we are doing involves using the product itself to make the course. So this will, hopefully, addresses the trust issue. As for the third point you made about selling what is already available, I had already realised that what you are selling isn't the course so much as paying me to do the research for them. So what they are buying is my time. Anyway, thanks Pat for confirming that we are going in the right direction.
I loved this video. Then again I am a not surprised; Ipurchased a ton of products from you Pat over the years. Perfect timing for me- working o my first course
I get it! Im close to launching my golf program and kind of flirting with the idea of paying you to check out what i have on my website so far... anywhere where i can find more info about this?
Thank you. I'm going to start creating an online course before that your video has given clarity on how to sell the product. So I will keep these points in mind once I start the marketing campaign and also try to create the value to the customers.
I get it, and I can see how you use your principles. I saw CAOC webinar with JLD, was interested but didn't jump on it. When you did it with the offer of monthly accountability calls to care for your audience you're sending there, that made the difference of trust for me to make the purchase. #TeamFlynn #ForTheWin 👊
You basically answered my top 3 questions and concerns I kept asking myself about online course creation all in one video. Dude you seriously read my mind. Thank you.
This was really needed and so motivational! I recently launched my first ever online course for Muslims to communicate better. I sometimes face hesitation when having to 'sell' to my followers and I still need to overcome that hesitation. I've been giving a lot of free content so far. Listening to your tips definitely inspires me! By the way I discovered you via your podcast and now accidentally found a video when looking up 'how to sell a course' and you are equally cool on video! Thank you for EVERYTHING you do, thank you for your work, thank you for being you!
Ah....the sacrifices you make for us are real. 🤣 Seriously though, these are great principles that everyone should take note of. This goes right back to the point you and Chris Ducker made about doing business as people (rather than as a company) by building trust. It's been my experience that the best tic-tac...er...tactic for building trust is being your *real* self, which is something you excel at. If I see a Lambo or a private jet in an ad for someone's personal brand, my B.S. detector starts flashing. 🚨
Oh my goodness, Pat this is one of the best videos you've like ever done!!! Your personality is definitely there, you promoted your course, you had a great persuasion for joining teamflynn, truth truth all over this about why people buy and not cheating....I'm just blown away at your honesty and care
In addition to your third point I would add that a quality course also provides comprehensive assessment and most youtube videos don't do that. Assessment helps people understand their weaknesses and what they need to review in order to master material.
Holy cow ! After setting up a website and creating tons of content that sound like " blah , blah, blah" as a complete newbie 2 months ago, It just clicked ! I think.....lol. I'm working things out slowly. 50 steps forward, 49 back. The wheels are turning ! Thanks Pat !
It's amazing that it took you years to get it and this just makes me love you more. Your authenticity and you being open to tell us your journey is incredible. Thanks for sharing and teaching. I totally get it. #teamflynn
Hey Pat, I was just thinking of creating an online course and got a notification about this video. I just had to watch it. Thanks a lot, man. You really help!
These simple concepts make perfect sense. It is procuring the potential buyer's trust that will demand the largest investment of my time, as a seller, I would presume. Demonstrating how a buyer will benefit; how is life will be better and making clear the savings in time and the convenience that my online course provides is a easier matter entirely. Thanks Pat Flynn.
Sell and serve at the same time... beautifully put, Pat. I get it. Thanks for the vid. Love your style. Hats off to the production team. Speaking of convenience, though, I'd love to see some bookmarks or fullscreen markers for each of the tips that way I can jump to certain spots of your video that I'm most interested in. Keep 'em coming - 100k is on the way :)
I'm stalking you, Pat! Just Kidding. Your calls to action work. I've hit the bell on RUclips so I am alerted to your videos. PS - I have an e-mail going your way regarding what we talked about during the DSG webinar last week.
Yo Louie Luc! You said something in your last podcast that had me laughing. I'm going to have to go back and listen to it again to remember what it was.
Hope it wasn't a grammar mistake or something that doesn't make any sense. I noticed a few after recording but I'll try to go back and correct them. :)
Got it. Thanks Pat. I hear and read a lot about how you have to be trustworthy to sell. Scammers don't succeed. Good. Also glad to hear what I hoped was true: people want to save time and effort by being guided through something, rather than wading through stacks of information to find gems. I certainly don't want to wade through stacks of information again, experts are wonderful!
Great video Pat, so awesome :) I remember hearing about you as a guest on The Investor's Podcast with Preston and Stig years back. They said that you were such an influence to them, so I had to look you up. Now years later, I'm creating my own online course and you're helping me as well :) Thanks Pat!
Thanks for the great video. I appreciate your honest and helpful information. It gets old hearing everyone on youtube tell us how quick and easy it is to sell a course for thousands of dollars overnight! I'll be checking out some of your other videos.
I love your content. With my 10 years of experience in online business, it's still helpful. I think in 2022 begginers in online course industry should focus on membership programs more.
Hello. I am starting to get used with some things about selling online courses. I watched some of your videos and I can say that I learned something new in each one. I get it. Mostly, I like the fact that you are more informative than, say, inspiring. More and more people are trying to make masses watch their content with s**t talks and inspiring speeches, thus it becomes harder and harder for people who are actually into selling online courses to get info about this market and how it works. I recommend your video to anyone that went to the comment section before watching, just to know if people are agreeing with what you say, or the comment section is only full of spam and bots. I get it. Thank you for your help.
I get it! Content makers and course creators compile information and step by step processes to make people’s lives easier. They should be proud of the services and education they offer, as well as the time and money they save thousands of people with their courses. When the course is created should we diversify distribution platforms and channels immediately or do you have a preference of platform and distribution method that is more focused?
I get it - thank you Pat. I will keep this in mind going forward with my business. Wish you all the best for the New Year of 2022. Take care and stay safe.
And now I get it. Before, I'm thinking, I'm going to sell a course of what I know and what others doesn't know yet. But now you made me realize, that's not how it works. I have to sell a course base on how others will benefit on it. 👍. You're really awesome.
Hey Sharon! You won an SPI pin for commenting within an hour after the video published. Shoot an email to pat@smartpassiveincome.com and we'll hook you up. Congrats! For everyone else tuning in, be sure to subscribe to get notifications when new videos are posted!
It is true that all the information is available for free but "People buy to save time". This is the most valuable advice I've learned 👏
Makes total sense. People know they can find info but want the confirmation that what they are learning is correct. The buyer needs to be able to say - "I get it!"
True that - thanks so much for watching!
very helpful. I've been running an online course for 2.5 years. We're close to hitting 1M in sales, but this helps synthesize and remind us of things we've learned.

Hi there I’m also wanting to start a course could you help me out as well ?
Hii.. dear can you help me how to create online course

Pat, it amazes me all the time how much you serve your audience. Bravo sir. You speak my language. I Get It!
I appreciate you Ted! 🎉
Hey Pat ! Yep, online courses are the best, if u can create a good course. The great thing is that now, almost any niche can be profitable. Only need to build an audience !
Yep, I agree Kevin, I've seen successful online courses spanning from how to plant plants, to eyelash training!
Pat Flynn ahaha ha, gotta love the internet ^^

Have you ever launched it yet?
Thank you.
I'm going to start creating an online course before that your video has given clarity on how to sell the product.
So I will keep these points in mind once I start the marketing campaign and also try to create the value to the customers.
Perfect timing. I'm releasing my Marijuana Stock Investing course later this month :)
would love to check out the details to this.
I thought about doing that, but wasn't sure about the market size. Is it selling well?
Can you provide links? Interested.
It struck me that "People Don't Want to Buy Online Courses". People buy an expected outcome. So simple yet so true. Thanks.
Wow, thanks Dan! Yes, that little bit of extra care goes a long way in this online world! Thanks for being here Dan!
You basically answered my top 3 questions and concerns I kept asking myself about online course creation all in one video. Dude you seriously read my mind. Thank you.
let me know
Yeah Pat is pretty awesome! :)
I get it! But now I just need to DO IT. Thank you!

Thank you for the valuable information.
Thank you!! I just need to do it and stop putting it off. Lack of confidence can be such a killer of your dreams.
#TeamFlynn has the best Tic-Tacs
Haha! I need some green and red branded tic tacs, although those are my LEAST favorite flavors.
For sale. One RUclips video. Mint condition.
🤣
Ah....the sacrifices you make for us are real. 🤣

BTW I do actually have the best Tic Tacs in the world (if I say so myself ) HAHA
Oh my goodness, Pat this is one of the best videos you've like ever done!!! Well done. I need to rewrite the copy for our webinars and virtual conferences. Thanks.
It's amazing that it took you years to get it and this just makes me love you more. Your authenticity and you being open to tell us your journey is incredible. Thanks for sharing and teaching. I totally get it. #teamflynn
It definitely has taken me a while, but once you get it it opens up so many possibilities! 🙏
Hey Pat, I was just thinking of creating an online course and got a notification about this video. I just had to watch it.
Thanks a lot, man. You really help!
i do like tic tacs to be fair :) i love the comedy element you put in your videos Pat, love it!

I get it, your awesoooooooooooooome
Hey Pat. "I GET IT". i'll do it for my next online course. Thank you so much. Amazing content as usual
Thanks Cedric! 🙌
Is hard to gain trust from individuals especially when selling them an item that they must pay for before they receive it...
Yes, this is a huge challenge, hence really focusing on the before vs after, and showing that the instructor is the right person for the job.
One thing to do is to give xx day free refund. My 5cent “tic-tac” to share with you ;)
Well said! :)
I get it! In marketing I have been preaching the sell benefits approach for a long time. Great video and it will help tons.
Sell and serve at the same time... beautifully put, Pat. I get it. Thanks for the vid. Love your style. Hats off to the production team.

Incredibly helpful and truthful video on selling online courses! Thank you for your valuable tips.
I love Tic Tacs! Especially the orange ones! ;-P
Orange is my favorite, too!
Patt Flynn, I have not gotten started yet... one lazy bum. but hearing your voice and getting your advice is amazing. keep up your great work.
Hey Pat. "I GET IT". #teamflynn
I appreciate you Phil! I see you everywhere!

I'm stalking both of you, Phil and Pat, too. :) Regards from your friend, colleague and student known as Louie Luc. ;)

Hey Pat a nice summary of the things we obviously forget, thanks
Smart advice. Thanks. (Entertaining too. Bonus points!)
I totally get it and watched this video for my interview hope it goes well best of luck for your future 💯
Informative, concise and clear. Thanks Pat!
Excellent video! Very simple but so clear, well done.
Thanks a lot. You gave me what I wanted to know. I am lucky that I could find your video on RUclips.
I get it! Thanks Pat. Always giving value. I appreciate you.
Thanks, Pat! I've been so happy to find out I've hit on the #3 being a total newbie to all this))))
Wow, the only person who gave me an outline that made perfect sense and was not asking me for money. Great..
I love your content. With my 10 years of experience in online business, it's still helpful.
I think in 2022 begginers in online course industry should focus on membership programs more.
I get it! You rock.
Really good tips. I sell online piano courses, so it’s good to just get a reaffirmation on these concepts. Do you have a podcast?
Hope all is going well! :)

Agreed, Edia! This one's really informative. Which struck you most?
Brilliant.

Cool Pat, I have my first online course out right now. Keep up the good work. I will be looking for affiliates soon.
Congrats! :)
I get it - thank you Pat. I will keep this in mind going forward with my business. Wish you all the best for the New Year of 2022. Take care and stay safe.
Well done with this breakdown man. For real. I believe these are ESSENTIALS to selling a course. Thank you!
I get it, Pat. Thanks for everything. I learn so much from you.
And now I get it. Before, I'm thinking, I'm going to sell a course of what I know and what others doesn't know yet. But now you made me realize, that's not how it works. I have to sell a course base on how others will benefit on it. 👍. You're really awesome.
Thank you so much for putting this out. This is so useful information 🔥
