Brilliant job, Emily. You can't master it in a day, but your confidence and willingness to follow instructions were faultless. You both radiate happiness and make enjoyable videos
Emily did very well -- her first weld looks better than my current welding, and I've been welding for years! Something about needing steady hands, which I lack.
I had one of the first Murex portable units (Trades cut 6) and it was quite the tool when we were doing a lot of sheet metal work. You need a seriously good compressor and a good line drier to keep up with the air consumption and to extend cutting tip life ( the Murex consumables were very costly so it's worth checking that price before you choose a model)
Well done Emily. Welding is something you learn, it's not a natural thing to do. Think about moving a pool of water along by blowing down a drinking straw. Too fast and the pool will spread out,too slow and the pool will flood the area you're blowing. Too much lean on the straw and pool will go in the direction your leaning too fast. Not enough lean and the pool won't move.its a gentle balancing act.
That shot from the other side while she was welding, watching the cherry slowly move down the line, was pretty darn cool. Never seen nor considered that perspective and I must say it was satisfying to watch
You need to get a pot of Tip Dip Tom! The tips stay clean and last ages if you dip the hot tip in tip dip after every bit of welding. Hats off to Emily, she’s amazing!
Very cool vid hope your holidays were good and bravo to Emily great work and Tom’s a lucky guy to have such a talented wife. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 don’t worry about the welds that’s what grinders are for 👍🏻👍🏻
Good job Emily you’re a very quick learner with a brilliant attitude to work. It’s good to see you making time to teach your wife Tom. I remember the first time I used a mig welder to make a bracket I picked it up and it fell apart 😂. That’s when I learnt you have to turn the gas on 😂😂
Well done Emily. Good job. You’re doing well. Tom you’re going to have to up your game because Emily is getting very competent in quite a bit. You’re good at the farm work but you can’t make biscuits and cakes. Great job. Enjoyable to watch
I think Tom should join Emily in the kitchen to learn how to bake some bread and cookies, it would be funny to see if Tom looks as good in a pinny as Emily did in the welding gear. God bless
Excellent video Tom, you are very patient and like Emily said a good teacher, what I like about Emily is that she will try anything she’s never afraid to have a go,you’ve got a good wife Tom"
I think Mrs. Lamb will take over your jobs on the farm, way quicker than you think Tom! :D she´s quite skilled :D Way to go Mrs. Lamb !!!!!! Before you know it ! it will be her who says " This is Lamb ! Mrs Lamb ! " :D :D :D
Well done you two nice bit of team. I did wonder when you was cutting through why the plate hadn't fallen on your toes. Thank, you both for a great video
General rule of thumb: where there's slag you drag. I read, in my 1942 Lincoln Electric Arc Welding Manual, about a technique called 'Fleet Fillet' where the rod is at 90° to the direction of travel but that seems to be an exception.
Your Emily did very good i must say on that welding for the first time. When i welded for my first time the MOT guy asked if i'd done it with a glue gun. needless to say he was not impressed, lol. anyway, many years later, I'm no expert, but i now know how to weld. I even have a mig & stick in my arsenal. Loved the video btw, specially when you danced behind Emily while she was welding, lol ha ha ha
when i replace a cutting edge i also add struts to keep the cut edge straight if you got a good straight blade already, keeps it straight for new blade and saves time.
Have u ever thought about taking up rallying Tom ? Might need to upgrade the tyres though. That plasma cutter is a beast, it will save u money in the long term doing it urself. Looks like Emily's birthday present might be steel toecapped boots. U two are the A team, cracking video. Cheers, Poth 👍👍
Hey Tom, did you used to be The Milk Tray Man in the past, suave sophisticated dashing....knows how to show a lady a good time. Emily is one in a million
Happy New Year Tom What a fantastic thing to do, discount code from agrilink Your videos are definitely a cut above the rest lol Sure is quicker than the old cutting touch, looks to be more accurate too Loving the blues brother vibe lol Back UK Farmer's 🇬🇧 Geoff
Takes a few goes to get good and your welds on the underside starting to look much more even. Glad you enjoyed it, damn useful skill, wish I had time and kit to get better at it but only ever had a go at a mates and I’d be happy with your last welds. Learning easily as fast as I did and you’re luckier that you’ll get plenty of chances to practice and keep improving with expert help.
Great job Emily, it needs to sound like bacon frying in the pan. Try to hold the tip at 45° and use your other hand to balance the torch on. You really need to wear leather welding gloves but good first try, you had a good techer in Tom.
Nice one Emily you have done a Grand Job. But Tom when Emily was cutting the end and she was holding the torch at a wrong angle she was standing away from the bucket but you were leaning up against it so you was more stable and you forgot to tell her about that. But she did a great job for her first time 👌👍👏😎
She improved a lot towards the end of welding that. Hopefully she finds something else to weld, even if it's a modern art piece. She'll be a pro in no time! :) P.S that thumbnail is very good looking, some may even say Netflix quality it looks so good. Great job. ;)
Good evening, Tom. Emily. Great video again. The edge of the bucket was well worn. You are a good teacher, Tom. Or are you scared Emily doesnt make you cake if you dont.
Have a couple of edges to change soon , we always cut the welds away so not to lose any plate , looks an easier job to cut behind the original edge and weld a wider one on
Get yourself some flat magnets with chamfered holes in the middle and bolt those to a piece of angle iron. Now you have a universal plasma cutting guide.
Tell Emily it's just like doing eyeliner or brows - you gotta have an anchor. If you float your hand around in the air then you've got no control. Same principle if you're laying a weld, doing a cats eye, dressing some pork, or painting the mina Lisa
Quick learner, suppose y'all need to buy her all the personal kit! Lol, always works better when its your own... & Those welds are much better than most guys that say they can weld, harhar!
good job Emily next time brace yourself where your not tying to balance see how Tom is all smirky when he leans against the bucket and starts to cut , because he's taking out alot of the instability even when he arcs . you will get better every time you do it :)
Wow Emily you are multi- skilled. Tom is a lucky man to have the perfect wife.
Brilliant job, Emily. You can't master it in a day, but your confidence and willingness to follow instructions were faultless. You both radiate happiness and make enjoyable videos
Total respect to Emily, you did really well and practice is the only way to get better.
She done very well. Good teacher too . Nice to see a married farming couple replace a bucket edge . Can’t be millions of us 😂
Emily did very well -- her first weld looks better than my current welding, and I've been welding for years! Something about needing steady hands, which I lack.
Hats off to Emily. It to me three days of sold welding to look like hers at the end. She did a great job.
A very handy lady Mrs lamb. Top-team and no shouting at each other 😊
Anyone else trying to find an excuse to buy themselves a plasma cutter? Need one, no. Want one, yes 😂
@@pruplebug agri link sell them …….
Yup, I can think of about five to argue my case to the wife with. One of the five is that she'll look good using it.
Of course you need a plasma cutter! You NEED one to satisfy your desire to have a plasma cutter!
Q.E.D.
I don't need one but I have a friend that has one if I ever find a use or ever want to play🤣

It’s handy having a wife around the workshop. I’ll have to get one 😅
That final bit of welding looked decent!!! Fair play to her.
Emily done so much better than I can and I’ve been welding bits for years lol
Well done Emily. Welding is something you learn, it's not a natural thing to do. Think about moving a pool of water along by blowing down a drinking straw. One word for Emily welding is Excellent, job for your multi skilled wife. 👍👍
Toptastic Emily
now we are welding
Good video Mr Tom Lamb 😎
That shot from the other side while she was welding, watching the cherry slowly move down the line, was pretty darn cool. Never seen nor considered that perspective and I must say it was satisfying to watch
That Mrs is a keeper! Take good care of her :)
You did the right thing marrying her, there aren’t many like Emily, absolutely great couple.
Colin Furze has the "safety tie", Emily has the "safety plait" 👍
You need to get a pot of Tip Dip Tom! The tips stay clean and last ages if you dip the hot tip in tip dip after every bit of welding.
Hats off to Emily, she’s amazing!
Good idea!!
Emily, totally brilliant. Cheers Tom.
Great seeing to young people get on together lol.
Great welding Emily
You’ve gotta a good wife an partner their mucker, she’s not afraid of work, fair play to you both, pleasure watching your exploits together,,,,,👍👍

In fact .... give her yours! Very Good welding for first try!@😁
Fair play with the welding she did great, it's all practice.
Emily has go the patience of a saint with you as her teacher Tom, good for her first attempt. WELDERFABBER might see it differently LOL
Great job wit poth the plasma cutter and welder Mrs Lamb. God bless you both
Hi Tom. Emily did a great job on her first attempt, head and shoulders above my own. Never hurts to have an experienced welder on staff.

@ yes I agree I wonder if Tom could do such a good job as Emily did with her welding.
Great video Tom Emily was definitely improving and getting better at welding well done Emily
Your Mrs did a really good job there Tom. Good for you both.
A woman that laughs at your Bond joke is a keeper.
And the fact she wants to keep trying shows character.
I think she done very good. You can see new machinery nearby with worse welding on. I think she was very good.
Emily, 11/10!! Excellent job...
Another entertaining video, remember having to do that with a 9” angle grinder!
Excellent video Tom, you are very patient and like Emily said a good teacher, what I like about Emily is that she will try anything she’s never afraid to have a go,you’ve got a good wife Tom"
Nice one tom and the Apprentice
Good job on the new edge Tom and Thanks for bringing Emily Along. Any skills taught pay back dividends in the long run. Thanks for posting....
Great video and top work by Emily.

My wife can weld like a demon, she used to make steel sculptures. It's a good skill that more people need.
Not bad welds at all really for first time I have seen people who get paid to do it put out worse haha keep it up both of you.
when i replace a cutting edge i also add struts to keep the cut edge straight if you got a good straight blade already, keeps it straight for new blade and saves time.

Emily was doing a great job, I see that the See Food diet is going well. 😀😁
Yes! Thank you!
Good effort by Emily gets better with practice.
girl got welders fit
Hey Tom, I’d look at hardfacing mig wire for the other worn edges/ sections, which would be great welding practice for Emily😊

Mr. Lamb. Your patience has improved. Have you started taking your pills? Nice training session folks. Very nice!
