    I joined the p way at Eastleigh in '88 and remember seeing this video at the Woking training school! Happy days and miss the brotherhood of our gang!

    1980s Orange Vests and Overalls date it the that 1980s time frames as well

    Judging by the livery and multiple unit types used I would say probably mid-late 1980’s for dating

    What makes that thing that funny noise that the worker watching for train has?

      The constant "whoop-whoop" sound is from a system called Pee-Wee, which was a warning system that British Rail used for P-way work to provide advance warning of a train for lookouts and the P-way gang. The honking sound is the lookout horn; basically a trumpet that the lookout would be given to warn the gang if he saw a train coming.
