Hi Sovereign Saurus, just a quick random question. Q. Are brand new 2024, mint condition, Royal Mint sealed Sovereigns devalued if taken out of the sealed card? I am sure other audience members would be interested to know this as new collectors/stackers. Thank you. PS. Where can I buy those tubes which hold sovereigns in capsules please? What size do I ask for? Thanks again.
As a new fan, I am finding your videos of increasing interest! Thank you. Like the relaxed, informative style you convey. Question? You mentioned you have some favourite coins. May I ask what they are and why? Perhaps you could consider doing a short video for us all about this? If not possible, I will still watch and learn from what you say and show us. Best wishes.
Nice stack maty; I'm just gonna stack half ounce of coins & bars only, so when the price of gold hits £2100, it will be more easier for me to sell than the seller of an ounce of coin & bars.
The thought of piecemeal-ing my coins 1-2’s would be painful. £360 for sovereigns that I paid £197-£220 for from a dealer is just good business as far as I’m concerned.
Hello Saurus, many thanks for an inportant video once again. The downfall with selling one's entire stack en masse on a rainy day/season is the potential loss if the spot price at that point has fallen heavily. When buying bullion sovereigns I buy for two stacks: On dips: Edwards, which I will sell again as soon as I can make a profit (as to hedge against inflation). For collecting: Young Vic shield backs. In hoping I will not need to ever sell the latter, I have no qualms selling my Edwards. I guess you are taking profits too from time to time by selling some of you duplicates? All the best to you and a Happy Sunday 🙂
That sounds good. In my stack there are coins I would definitely try to hang on to Vs coins I'd be happy to sell if needed. I do sell some from time to time when it makes sense though I only buy what I'd be comfortable keeping
Nice to see the sovereigns. Again I’m just concerned how to get the money back in uk. When you say spot I calculate a sovereign as just under 8 grams. Would a dealer /jeweller say yes that’s it’s weight in gold but I need to take less than that to cover cost of melting down gold. ? I watched Flog it programme on Friday. (24 November 2023) 10 gold sovereigns weren’t getting spot price at auction. The experts didn’t seem to value the sovereigns any higher than that and they barely made that price in the auction. They Made £170 on average. A bit worrying when you think a modern sovereign from royal mint costing best part of £400. An old Edward or Victorian sovereign I thought should be worth at least £350. Would a dealer offer say like £280 at best. ?? That’s what I’m wondering. It would make me cautious about buying gold if not getting the actual spot price or a fair return. Great to see all your gold coins. Thanks.
Hello Hetty, this is my nightmare too! I simply refuse to take a loss on my investments and that's why I will not go in too deep on precious metals (just dipping my toes). Breaking even when selling is not too good either. If you buy gold for a total of e.g. £3000 over the years and you manage to break even when selling in e.g. 2035 - you'll have the same £3000 back, and that sum will give you exactly the same purchasing power in 2035 as having left the money in your savings account 😞
I have £250000 invested in PM's mainly Gold. I will be investing a further £500000 when I sell my buy to let properties. I am 35 next month and hope on retiring in 5 years.
I still couldn’t find those tubes you have with the screw top, so l bought the red push top air tube. Not good the lid came off when a tipped the tube. So l still need to buy one like yours

Hey thanks for stopping by. I'll make a note of that and include in the near future yes 👍🏼
Soon be 3000 dollars an oz ,,turn your paper into gold 😅
I wouldn't be all that surprised although we will see

Hey thanks for watching
There's a few people who have considered that in their stacking 👍🏼
@@SovereignSaurus I'm quite surprised they don't, considering the years they have behind their stacking experience.
Stop waving that 2005 at me, I'm still after one! 😂
Haha sorry Sir
Not available for1960 or 1961, 1975 or 1977? Perhaps I'm wrong!
Correct yes, apparently there was 1 minted in 1975 only, it was to mark the closure of the Tower Hill site so to me that's as good as not existing
Great video as usual. Any idea what the inside and outside diameter of the clear tubes are? Coin Tube (Sovs and 0.25 oz inside capsules)
33mm if I remember correctly 👌🏽
Both the inside and the outside are 33mm? @@SovereignSaurus
The inside diameter I think because the capsules outer diameter was just below this@@criscarp-v1t
Thank you for your reply@@SovereignSaurus
I got a South Africa sovereign recently… It’s a pretty coin!
Fantastic. Lovely coins
@@SovereignSaurus thanks! 👍

Oh my goodness! To even DREAM of owning just one is something! Wow! You have worked hard for that stack. Well done.
Yeah when you're sat in the profit there's certainly more options that make sense

I agree you do need to know when and where to sell it. Having to sell is so different then selling for the best profit. Really enjoyed it Thanks.
Yes good point Cash

Interesting thought and comment, makes you think..😮
Lol
There are multiple dealers in the UK paying £370 or more currently (as I reply spot of £1590/Oz)
Copperish red
Yeah, I like gold gold
Colour
Not sure why the RM think it's a nicer colour
great video, always important to have an exit strategy. Plus always love to see your sov collection beautiful and all in good condition.
I recorded a shield sovereign 'stock take' video recently bit long but lots of shiney 😁

It’s great I stoped working at 38.
@@golddiggerdave 38 that's a bit late isn't it?
