Not against someone untrained. A white belt that trains 3 times a week is gonna strangle someone who doesn't train at all. I've gotten bigger, stronger, more dangerous guys than me with a little control

If the person you’re fighting isn’t ridiculously bigger & stronger than you, and or untrained, then these can work really well
I’d say if you’re 5’9 160 pounds in good shape
If a guy is 6’6 400 pound strongman you’re screwed unless you take his back and do a RNC
now of course if a guy is 6’3 260(inside joke) then these can still work because that isn’t such a big weight discrepancy

@@floatinggoose9197 True, although the windows is closing every day. So many people are aware of BJJ now, the "bad guys" are also getting more proficient. But you're right, for the most part odds are that if you train you will be ahead of your opponent, even a bigger one. Just have to drill and practice so when the time comes it is second nature to you.

I've seen number two in William Fairburn scientific self-defense. (front stranglehold). But the way that you showed it in the way that he showed it it goes by so fast I feel like I'm missing something because there's no way it's that simple. I guess the biggest question I have is what's compressing the carotid arteries on the side you lift the arm up that you duck under?

Thumbs Up! - first choke as aggressor is coming into your space is a good move. Choke 2, looks inefficient , as a- his back is exposed to you if you want to kidney punch him, or on the way there before hand, liver punch him. and then you can crush his calve muscles -Choke 3 looks like you are going out of your way to reach the aggreessor, when you were initially able to pull away -
