I don't know what you're hearing, but JBLs are overrated. Splashy highs, shouty mids, and fake bass. They're for those who care for style over substance.

@@jerryjazzbo2845 Nah! JBL is great, but overpriced. My Charge 5 sounds great out of the box. Definitely a major improvement from the Charge 3 & 4. It has crystal clear highs and decent bass, especially for its size.
