Wrong!!! the uboom drivers are on the sides and if he was to face one side toward the microphone then it would sounded just as forward or more than the flip5 on outdoor mode. These tests are not as accurate compare to real life...I collect speakers as a hobby(I have over 50 lol) and I compared them both already. Anyone want to buy any speakers at a lower price let me know I'll ship it to you for free too...Tell me what you want I just might have it... :D
Thank you for making this comparison. I have 2 of these and the sound paired in stereo is beyond amazing! They play super clean and are very addictive to listen to. They chose the right name for these..... Earfun. In my opinion on this sound comparison the Jbl Flip 5 was the best competition. But of the 2 the Earfun Uboom retained better balance and bass at higher volumes. Both are similar in features, but the Flip 5 is a directional speaker and the Earfun is 360 degree speaker which is why I bought them. The price on the Earfun is also much better than the Flip 5. I love JBL but for the 360 and the price I couldn't pass the Earfun up.
Thank God I got my wonderboom 2 at 45$ cause it's not worth the price they're asking today for it. But I love the video I'm thinking of getting the uboom thanks!
I came across a pair of Uboom selling at a very low price and bought them. Should have them here by next week, perhaps even tomorrow. While I'm not a big fan of omni-directional speakers, this should be interesting. I'll try to post back. At this point I've clocked about 15 hours of listening, which admittedly isn't much. Some initial impressions of Uboom and TWS. The speakers are configured with its drivers sitting close to the bottom. I prefer the sound with the speakers flipped over where the drivers are close to the top of the enclosure. The presentation is more detailed, less congested, and image stability improves. Speaking of image stability, I suspect that its omni-directional design is responsible for relatively poor performance in this regard. It kinda wonders between the speakers. I suspect it's due to phase effects. Too, in TWS the main speaker is a left. The slave, if you like, is a right. It's important to have the correct orientation, as stereo is meant to produce a 3-dimentional image of a recording. The thing we call a soundstage. That won't happen with the channels reversed.
The flip5 sounds more forward but at $119 two uboom’s would surely sound better and still have money for lunch.
