- Here's a review of the 2022 Porsche Macan GTS, filmed in Madison, Wisconsin. This is a pretty special review because it's my brand new personal vehicle! Solid review and appreciate you also pointing out the areas that you didn't quite like! I own the 22 Macan S and totally agree with you that it does NOT feel like an SUV in anyway shape or form. Also love that you went all-in with the options to give the interior jus as much love (saw that Burmester upgrade 👌)

Pretty much the spec I would of go for. Color choice is simply 10/10 no doubt.
The only thing I would no go for is sunroof to get some more headspace.

My dash cam is actually a separate one I bought and installed - for 2022, Porsche didn’t offer a prewired dash cam :(

GTS+Kreide = good combo. As much as I like the plastic update in the back, the front is a miss :/
Hi Steven, great review as always. How do you find the thermally and noise-insulated glass? I was not sure if I should get that option for my GTS build. The main reason is that I am afraid of it blocking out the exhaust sound as well. Do you think that's a problem for you on your drives?
Thanks Kent! Good question - I personally love the insulated glass, since I was looking for a luxury quiet ride as well. It definitely does block out a bit of the exhaust sound, but it’s still loud enough for me haha :) I also often start the car with my door open so that I can hear the fantastic start-up sound too!

Congrats, you’ll love it! 😊 the Bose speakers are decent but the Burmester is significantly better (just quite expensive)! If you’re an audiophile, definitely go with the Burmesters, but if you care more about the engine sound, Bose is probably good enough :)

Yep the Bose definitely have good bass! I think the surround sound Bose system is $990 extra or something like that? And the base is not surround sound.
I am ordering the very same Macan , color etc , only difference is is im having the side black stripe in the exterior color ( shows the GTS more also lol) and was getting the Bose speakers BUT being that Ilove music would you say the burmester is a big leap better than the Bose? it is a lot more money , I mean a lot for what you could get off market for half . your car looks amazing
I do think the Burmester is a pretty significant increase in sound quality, but it also is a significant increase in price haha…my logic was that I’m already spending a lot on the rest of the car, might as well get the best 🤣

Awesome review. You’ve spec’s the Mecan very similar to almost exact same as how I want mine. What do you think about the audio still? Is it really 5k worth better than the bose? Could you tell them aprt easy? Also do you hear it w the engine/exhaust? Congrats on your car m8!
Thanks Mazyar, congratulations on your future Macan too! I think the audio is worth the upgrade if you’re often listening to music in your car. You can definitely hear the low grumble of the engine even if your music volume is pretty high! But if you’re more interested in quiet driving and hearing the engine noise, might just be better to stick with the Bose :)

I had heard that the GTS version doesn’t get the tow hitch option but I think that was wrong info and now there should be no obstacle for me to get this car. Well except not knowing which color and the money but hey, you only love once right? Contrast again
After nearly 2K miles on my 22 Macan GTS, I prefer Sport mode over N or S+. It doesn’t compromise the air suspension’s ability to dampen sharp pavement irregularities one bit compared to Normal, even though it lowers the chassis a bit.
100% agree with you! Sport is definitely the sweet spot. S+ is tough to enjoy unless you’re on a windy road with no lights/stops :)

Great review. I just took delivery of my 23 Chalk GTS custom build 🥰. The color is much more stunning in person than in pics/vids! I wish I got the upgraded sound system. Otherwise love my spec.

Nice review. I’ve heard several people say that the Burmester sound system is only really worth it if you plan on also using lossless (uncompressed) music files and not Spotify or something like that. Have you tried different types of music files in your Macan? What’s been your experience? Thanks

I personally haven’t tried different music formats on my Macan, I just use Apple Music for everything and actually turned off lossless downloads to save some space on my phone. So my experience is only from a ‘normal’ music file standpoint, and it still sounds pretty incredible! While the Bose sound system is also decent and would definitely satisfy most buyers, the Burmester is definitely a step ahead. Only recommendation I can give is to try and hear it in person at a dealership or something!

How do you like the racetex interior? I am debating between it and the full leather.
I love the RaceTex! I specifically put it in all the non-touch areas though - none on the steering wheel or the shifter. I love the look and feel of the inserts on the seats, so I got the GTS package just for it!
Is the '22 GTS powertrain essentially a tuned version of the '22 S? As both are using the same 2.9L Twin-Turbo V6?

Is there any reason, you didn`t order´the race tex headliner?
Thanks for watching! I debated that option for a while but didn’t end up getting it since the pano sunroof eats up a lot of headliner space. It would’ve definitely been a cool touch to have it though!
Should I go for the macan GTS or the merc amg gle 53 coupe
Those are both fairly different vehicles! The AMG GLE is going to be much larger, so don’t feel as athletic, but will have a larger road presence if you’re looking for that. The Macan GTS is going to be a much better ‘driver’s car’, if that’s what you’re looking for, but won’t have nearly the cargo capacity or passenger space as the GLE.

I see 3k of CArbon Fiber.... Where do u get 10k in Carbon Fiber? (I own a 23 GTS as well)
I laughed a bit too. The interior leather package went from 10k to 6k and pricing on sheet is 4.5k 😄
Hahaha it’s hard to remember all the exact numbers! 😅 But yes you’re completely correct - $4,790 for the GTS leather interior package.
For the carbon fiber, I have:
- Door sills
- Steering wheel
- Gear shifter
- Interior Trim
Definitely not $10k as I mentioned, I may have been exaggerating a bit haha :)

I’m being told the Burmester stereo has a stop order on the amps and the car arrives without an amp. Did you experience that?
