On July 20, 2022, I took the Toden (streetcar/tram) to Minowa-bashi station. There is an old shopping street called Joyful Minowa. In the past, this place was a prostitution district pretending to be a pub/bar. Of course, it is different now. Nearby is Yoshiwara, famous for its oiran (courtesans), and Sanya, a district known for its low-wage workers. Yes, these area have a sad history. Buildings from the early postwar period still remain. In Tokyo, where redevelopment is underway, this shopping district, which remains resilient, is definitely worth a visit.

I don't subscribe, so i don't know how a 245 view video showed up on my recommended feed, but I am so glad it did! Beautiful.
Thank you for watching! Glad to have met you!
Japan's shape language is so distinct. There's so many squares/rectangles mixed with perfect circles and vertical/horizontal lines along natural shapes like foliage and plants. I love the industrial aesthetic mixed with nature.
I like those buildings too. It is a form that is common in many store buildings, especially in the early postwar period, which are different from the usual work.
Thank you so much to share your travel in time! =D I really like to admire the old things ^^
I like walking through these streets. It is a different discovery from new streets :)
Wow!!! Awesome footage. Good Job!
Thank you so much :)
Great video as always! Relaxing and enjoyable to watch. I hope I can come back to Japan soon.
Thanks! Now that the yen is low, it's a good time to travel around Japan :D
@@sunpono Definitely plan on doing that when tourism is fully opened in Japan.
I've just discovered your channel and i really love your works. Your vids and shots are so inspiring. Feels like i've just found a hidden gem of yt. Anyway, i really enjoy watching your contents, i hope i can go back to Japan again soon and visiting some places from your videos.
Thanks so much for finding this channel! I introduce some places that you may not find in tourist guidebooks. I hope this channel will be useful for your next trip :)
What an interesting place. Thanks for the video and the photos!
This place has a lot to offer :)
This is one of your best :)
I enjoy it when you teach the history of a place. I also enjoy it when you focus on some of the smaller details - like the old signs, lights, shrines etc. I can't believe you walked right past the furin without taking a look! ;)
My favourite part was the soba restaurant. I love that traditional style of building, especially with all the plants around it.
Yet another place I hope to visit someday!
haha, You are right, I was walking led by the sound of furin, but I didn't take a picture of them. Maybe my interest in the building had changed :D
Riding Toden, you can also go to Zoshigaya and Sugamo, so it is recommended to buy a one-day pass. 🚃
Oh! You had upgraded your camerabody to xt4! Congrat.
Thanks :) It is very convenient! So, I wish I had bought it earlier. haha :D
Wonderful video! I really like the pictures but also how you grade your GoPro footage. Do you shoot using the Pro Tune mode?
Thanks :) I changed the color to flat and the bit-rate to high.
@@sunpono thank you
