See?!? I’m glad you caught it. You made me pause your reaction just so I could put my two cents in. 😂 And yes; you should watch the Confessions Tour. One of her best shows right after her Blond Ambition Tour. The Blond Ambition Tour is still her #1 all time best ever!!❤️⭐️🙌🏼
Madonna is not from New York. She was born in Bay City Michigan. Raised in Pontiac and Rochester north of Detroit. She Moved to New York City at 18 yrs old to go study dance. Her musical and dance roots are in NYC.
MUST REACT TO THIS TOUR OPENING! The entire show will blow you away.... the Opening from The Confessions Tour would be amazing as a drunk reaction. You won't be disappointed!!!
watch now "sorry"! Sorry was a continuation from the "Hung Up" music video. It features Madonna and her dancers roaming around a city in a van, dancing on roller skates, and the singer fighting with a group of men in a cage. The van was designed in tv show "pimp my car" for madonna, before being used in the video.
A few things about the video, she filmed it after falling off a horse and breaking 8 bones in her left arm. The reason, why when she's walking down the streets her left hand, is in her pocket as a sling. At the very beginning, she also touches her left shoulder because of it. It was supposed to feature a lot of Krumping, but the initial director photographer David LaChapelle quit cause Madonna was screaming at him over the phone and he just hung it up (all puns intended).
This video defiantely set her apart from the pack. I just rememeber that Her and Mariah had a huge comeback year-when everybody said their hits day were over lol!
she was born in Michigan and moved to NYC when she was 19 but the people are dancing on the street in LA and get into an American taxi then when they get out they're in a black cab in London which is why they're looking around confused, then in the second chorus Madonna is walking down a back alley in London and the next scene is on a London Underground train, it's such a brilliantly simple video that gets the point across so well
Madonna was born in Michigan but she is originated from New York as an artist. Part of the New York art scene of the '80s. Best friends with art history figures like Andy Warhol, Keith Haring... Had love affair with Basquiat.
Madonna was born & raised in Bay City, Michigan, a suburb outside of the Detroit. She identifies with NYC because that is where she first went to become famous. Madonna basically illustrates the struggle of a woman who is craving for her love interest to respond more speedily to her requests. She illustrates her impatience by comparing how slow time seems to move when we are waiting for something (her alone in a dance studio waiting) versus how quickly time seems to move when we are having fun (the outside world enjoying themselves which she eventually joins as she can no longer wait). Great reaction!
"Hung Up" prominently features a sample from the instrumental introduction to ABBA's single "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)", for which Madonna personally sought permission from its songwriters, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. This is thought to be only the second time Andersson and Ulvaeus have given permission to sample one of their songs, following Fugees song "Rumble in the Jungle" for the soundtrack of the film When We Were Kings.
Madonna wrote to ABBA members Bjorn and Benny personally to get their permission to use the sample. This was the second time ABBA had granted such a request. Previously, Fugees were given permission to sample the bass and synthesizer from this for their 1997 hit "Rumble In The Jungle." Bjorn explained how they granted permission to the Queen of Pop: "Madonna wrote a very, very nice letter saying please, please we have had a wonderful idea which involves 'Gimme Gimme.' We said we would have to listen to it first, but after half a minute I knew it was brilliant. That is one of the few we have allowed. Five years earlier we said yes to the Fugees. But to everyone else we said no. I think the Madonna record shows that ABBA is part of the DNA set-up of pop." The music video is a tribute to John Travolta, his movies and to dancing in general. It starts with Madonna clad in a pink leotard dancing alone in a ballet studio and concludes at a gaming parlor where she dances with her backup troupe. Interspersed are scenes of people displaying their dancing skills in a variety of settings, including a Los Angeles residential neighborhood, a small restaurant and the London Underground. It also features the physical discipline Parkour.
The dancers at the bus stop are an example of how M has always stayed on the pulse of what’s up. Those dancers were in the documentary “Rize” doing a dance they invented called Crumpin. In the doc they do “stripper dance” which morphed into what twerking is now.
Those 40 seconds of monologue with Madonna’s a**s in the back (3:10) 🤯 Just genius!! Nice work bro, Madonna it’s the last and most value piece of the 80’s art pop who’s still trending 39’s later. 👑
Madonna's dance studio leotard is a replica of one that Karen Gormley wore in "Saturday Night Fever," only a different shade. Her nighttime strut is an homage to John Travolta's strut in the same film.
The video is no Vogue, but the song is catchy and although I don't live for pelvic thrusts at a camera in a unitard, it's incredible that she was in her late 40s and built like that. She made great pop music and especially (mostly) some brilliant videos, but her dedication to keep up the dancing and the creativity as long as she possibly can is inspiring. I wish I had half her energy and drive.
Madonna gives winks to ABBA, Olivia Newton -John's leotard in her "Physical" video and John Travolta's dance moves from Saturday Night Fever. Also, the movie "Perfect" with Jamie Lee Curtis. I'm sure I missed so many more things. 70's & 80's are timeless!
I really appreciate your reviews because not many straight guys, or people in general nowadays, respect Madonna for all the incredible art she’s put out. Even through all the controversy, everyone has a favorite Madonna song.
I think youre right about the taxi driver, that part was la, i think she pportrait a lot of cities, just uniting people to dance. I will susbcribe to your patron, for the single reason, that i will love to see you watching confessions tour, i watched in rome and london, and still is the best day of my life.
Madonna is from Bay City Michigan, but she grew up around the state like Pontiac and other places in the state. She started in New York City but that's her professional career story.
"It's just about the celebration of dance" - you're right! Madonna is the Dance Queen! This song ended up being the #01 Club Dance Song on Billboard 00-09 Decade End Charts! 😅 (and Madonna's "Music" was the #02 of the decade!)
I think it's London, by the looks of the taxi. I believe she was living/based in England at the time of this album and tour. I could be wrong, tho, because she is definitely a New Yorder at heart. Also, I owned a dark pink top just like Madonna's here...leotards were the rage, back in the disco days. : )
You are my new favorite channel. I’m obsessed with Madonna, and I love listening to music drunk. Basically I love what you do. I will keep watching. Thank you!!
7:25 the pattern on the tube seat is distinctly of a London Underground tube. Pretty sure this is multi location? And isn't the parkour scenes in London South Bank stairs?
Madonna is from Detroit Michigan, and this video was shot in London, actually in this era M was living in England, because of what happened with American Life album she was not feeling safe in the US, she calls that era the "Bush years", as soon as Obama became president she came back to live in the US.
She was sooooo fit gawd 😳 and now ... well. Miss her ballerina body since then 😪. Great react bro, you must check her re done Erotica from this era, flawless 👌
Madonna is from Detroit she moved to NY when she was 18 with barely no money and was playing instruments in her boyfriend's band Breakfast club when they allowed her to sing and found out she was a better singer than all ( there is even a movie released recently called Breakfast club telling that story with an actress that looks just like young Madonna, but unfortunately she died before the movie was even released ) most of this video was recorded in London where she was living at that time
The clip is filmed in Los Angeles and London but the imaging scenarios are even Paris, New York, Shanghai and Tokyo. Madonna was born in Bay City ( Michigan) and move to New York ( 'with 35 dollars in her pocket ') in 1978.
Sorry, I'm late to the Madonna deep dive. Definitely, you should make a reaction to the Confessions Opening Tour London Concert. It's just WOW. There are other songs as well, and the order is not the same as the CD.
Trivia the dance studio scenes are a homage to Saturday night fever some parts of the movie were set in. Also the scenes in the dance studio Madge had fallen off her horse days before and severely injured her shoulder hence the not so great moves as opposed to the arcade.
I am now aware they are in London.
She filmed this a few months after a broken collar bone, hand, and I believe ribs. After a horse riding accident
See?!? I’m glad you caught it. You made me pause your reaction just so I could put my two cents in. 😂
And yes; you should watch the Confessions Tour. One of her best shows right after her Blond Ambition Tour. The Blond Ambition Tour is still her #1 all time best ever!!❤️⭐️🙌🏼
Lol
You need react to “SORRY” because, is the continue of this video! Please..

Don't forget Erasure. They did it before than Madonna👍
@@titodude Yes true lol - how could I forget them dressed up in drag - Erasure were fantastic 👱♀👧
The video is shot in London. The subway is called The Tube and/or London Undergroud
The podcast Song Exploder did the deep dive on this track recently. Madonna and Stuart Price discuss the process of creating this banger.
It was filmed in London.
CONFESSIONS TOUR petition here - please react to that whole tour it’s her opus dei!!!!

HUNG UP is by far the song I listen the most ❤️

And people say women in their late 40s are “old” and “over” …🤣🤣🤣 … brilliant song, and Madge looks brilliant!
The strut she does down the runway on the Confessions Tour live in London….omg sex personified!

Madonna was born in Bay City, Michigan but moved to New York at 17 to pursue fame and fortune hehe

Madonna was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She moved to new york to study in NYU as a dancer.
I can not wait for the Rebel heart album reaction. It's my fave. If the album was not leaked before the time, it would have done so much better ❤️

haha she's hardly a heifer now. It's hard keeping a ballerina body when you're 64 ;)
This video is a tribute to the movie Saturday Night Fever, Abba, and the disco sound of the 70's
The video was filmed in LA and London by Johan Renck, Swedish award-winning director who directed the HBO mini-series CHERNOBYL
That’s London, not NYC. The trains are different.
Masterpiece
Best options to next reaction: "Music /Disco inferno" or "Erotica /you thrill me" from The Confessions tour 😍
Madonna ❤❤❤❤
she does an excellent version of this at the live earth concert at wembley stadium its on you tube
Madonna is from Michigan
Love your Madonna reactions, you should watch the video for Sorry after Hung up cause the videos are related. You rock.
Madonna currently lives in New York but she grew up in Bay City Michigan near Detroit
You should totally check out the music video for What You Waiting For by Gwen Stefani!
John Travolta Saturday Night Fever
Luv your content. And luv Hung Up in all it's different renditions. Do you think the song would be as iconic without the ABBA sample?
Madonna is from Detroit she moved to NY when she was 18 with barely no money and was playing instruments in her boyfriend's band Breakfast club when they allowed her to sing and found out she was a better singer than all ( there is even a movie released recently called Breakfast club telling that story with an actress that looks just like young Madonna, but unfortunately she died before the movie was even released ) most of this video was recorded in London where she was living at that time
That part where you mentioned which city where Madonna struts in a leather jacket is in Vauxhall in London U.K.
Actually, her origin is Detroit Michigan, but New York since the late 70’s. The video did start in California, hence the Palm Trees.
Confessions Tour 🙌🏽🙏🏼👑✨💜
This music and vídeo are so goooooodddd

At the moment of the recording of this video, she was recovering from a horse riding fall happened a couple of months earlier.
Hey guy, I loved your video reaction too Madonna. I think it's hot when guys listen to Madonna. Anyway, just wanted to say hi big daddy.
The fact she made this bop wiht 47 yeras, is so incrible, even after American Life.
The clip is filmed in Los Angeles and London but the imaging scenarios are even Paris, New York, Shanghai and Tokyo. Madonna was born in Bay City ( Michigan) and move to New York ( 'with 35 dollars in her pocket ') in 1978.
Idk how you missed so much pop culture but better late than never 🤗
Since Ray of Light she made a excelent work with eletronic music.
Madonna is from Bay City Michigan.
You should definitely react to "Hung Up (Live at the 2005 MTV EMAs)" and "Hung Up (Live at the 2006 Grammy Awards)"
The video was filmed on NY, Los Angeles and London
Sorry is a great video too!… and you must watch the confessions tour.

Lo mas madonna
Sorry, I'm late to the Madonna deep dive. Definitely, you should make a reaction to the Confessions Opening Tour London Concert. It's just WOW. There are other songs as well, and the order is not the same as the CD.
Often overlooked that she had eight broken bones whilst filming this after falling off her horse
👑

Simple but good video
“Sorry” video is the second part of this video 🤭😇
