i enjoy other people hearing him for the first time and having exactly the same reaction I had. Just absolutely awestruck, gobsmacked, flabbergasted... he wasn't one of the greatest, he was THE greatest. he deserved all the love and goodness this world has to give, and more.
This is a cover that was performed during the Great Depression by Al Jolson and many others after. I love George’s version because of the orchestra and of course George’s emotions during the song. He was a perfectionist and that’s why everything he ever did was fantastic!!
This was amazing. I loved it also and so loved it. I’m not surprised though because George Michael can sing anything and everything and make it sound perfect it is so beautiful I can’t say enough about it. I loved it so much and I love George Michael so much I just wish As Americans showed him that more and how great he was, I know all of Europe he felt more comfortable there, but he was so great and amazing. I will love him forever, and I will always believe he’s the best. I hope he knew just how much we all loved him
There is something in the sound of his voice that is totally special! I just love him. He always gave his all! Thank you for your appreciation of this song.❤
I love George Michael’s voice. To me one of his most incredible live performances is him singing “Find me somebody to love” with Queen at the Freddy Mercury tribute concert. Mind blowing & legendary.💞
There was literally no genre that he couldn't cover and he sounded absolutely amazing doing it. Pop, R&B, Jazz, Techno, just perfection. I would recommend anything from the Concert of Hope. This concert was an ask from Princess Diana for her AIDS charity. It was in 1993 I think. Killer/Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Love Is In Need Of Love, are both amazing from that concert. The last song was Freedom '90 and they incorporated some really cool changes. The entire concert was amazing. His performance of The Long And Winding Road at a Linda McCartney memorial concert was so unbelievable beautiful. Paul said George sang the song better than he did. His performance of A Different Corner on the BBC Parkinson Show is beautiful too. There are so many amazing performances. Just take your pick.
Another amazing George Michael performance. He had such a social conscience which you can really hear in Praying for Time. It's from the early 90's but could be written today. And have you seen the full rehearsal of Somebody to Love with Queen? He's just standing there singing with David Bowie and the other performers watching him. Pure class.
that was such a brilliant performance and demonstrated George's incredible vocal range. At this level, i can only come up with Freddie. This was in 2000 at Pavarotti & Friends.
Thank you, thank you so much for doing this reaction. This is a stuning performance. His vocals are out of this world. He had an incredible presence on stage that it kept the listener glued to the performance. ❤
Am very happy to say I was in Wembley Stadium the very first time he sang that song in public in October 1999 and it was at least as good as this version. His voice was incredible and the way it echoed through the stadium you could feel it reverberate right through your body, truly amazing.
I wonder if people realise just what a talent we all lost on that Christmas Day in 2016.I wonder if George ever new just how much people loved him and his music. Many of us are finding it hard to cope with his loss.Such a crying shame,he went much too young.RIP George.May the earth that covers you be light.
@@bridgethegapreactions try listening to I Believe When I Fall In Love by Stevie Wonder which GM was singing early 90s. I am thinking it first appeared on a cassette tape given to attendees of Cover To Cover tour. Is now on the remastered Faith album. Only ever recorded live.
So powerful , so charismatic, his voice was a jewel 💎 generous on stage . It was a real pleasure when George sung like this . He gave everything with subtlety. Miss him everyday , thank you for your cool reaction
This is the first time that I've ever seen someone reacting to a song, that feels the need to repeat it due to being so good! It's incredible that George's voice is completely natural and never required singing lessons. What we are viewing and continue to, is down to nature and sheer hard work. It's impossible to tell when only listening to George's songs, which are live or performed in a recording studio. God bless you George for the immense impact you have had on music throughtout the modern era. In my opinion, no-one can perform better than you.🇦🇺💖🌟🎶
I’ve not seen this live performance before. Amazing!! Anything from his live MTV Unplugged concert is mind blowing. Star People, stands out to me, but literally every single song performed in that concert is perfect. Thanks for posting! ✌🏻✌🏻
Thanks for doing this Johnny - it’s an astonishing performance by George - my all time favourite male singer/songwriter. Gives me goosebumps every time.
Couldn't be more delighted watching you getting your socks knocked off by this performance!!! Might I next suggest Star People ( live MTV Unplugged) to see and hear George and his long time backup singers and band absolutely kill it. Best regards from across the pond :)
"Star People" on Unplugged is a great performance. I think it might be partly about Madonna. Specifically the parts where he says "Maybe your daddy didn't love you enough, girl" and "Do you have a little tale to tell". The first line of Madonna's "Live To Tell" is "I have a tale to tell".
The album this song is on called Songs from the Last Century is so smooth it's brilliant. I listen to it all the time! Love George, he'll always be my favourite singer of all time.
Brother, Can You Spare a Dime is a Depression era song composed by Gorney and Harburg and recorded multiple times by many artists including Bing Crosby
This charity event was George's first live performance in Italiy. He was joined by other performers such as Eurythmics. Aqua, Enrique Iglesias, Monica Naranjo...... The Dalai Lama was the special guest who gave a message of peace in his opening remarks. George's association with the opera star Pavarotti went back to the time when George recorded Miss Sarajevo for his "songs from the last century" album.
He did a duet with Pavarotti on that shoe, Don't let the Sun go down on me. Pavarotti in his language and George in English. They don't get any better than George, just listening to that voice, even You have been loved, and I can't make You Love Me on MTV unplugged, stunning as well, he never fails to deliver and the emotion in his face when singing them 2 slower songs. He puts his whole heart into it
Hello again Jonny, Must share to one and all this treasure of a duet: "living for the city" VH1 live '97 with George and his idol Stevie Wonder. Upload credit and major shout-out to Urkel 15 who has the most extensive GM playlist on YT. And I guarantee you can't watch this performance just once!! Two legends at their best and showing the love! Let's spread the word that this gem of musical history is here for us. Peace!
They dont make singers like George anymore, hes in a league of his own. Thank you for not speaking through the song. The voice he has is outstanding and like you said them last 2 words, no one could have done that. Everytime I see this song I have to listen to it, can't pass that song by. Try some of his more emotional songs from MTV Unplugged, You Have Been Loved and I Can't make You Love Me

a suggestion from me: George's duet with Toby Bourke "waltz away dreaming". This version was recorded in the studio only 3 days after the passing of George's Mum Leslie.
You had never heard of this very old amazing song before? Written in 1932 (Depression era, obviously, given the lyrics) by Yip Harburg. By far, my absolute favorite live performance of the great George Michael...2nd being Somebody To Love ❤
The King of Pop, he did almost every music genre out there and he did it perfectly!! Long live the King!!
GM said that this was was the perfect song to showcase his voice and that he really got to ‘show off’ with it, he wasn’t lyin, chills every time

George had one of the best male voices. Don't care what anybody says, it's a fact.
I totally agree, and I personally think he had the best voice ever and forever
There is something in the sound of his voice that is totally special! I just love him. He always gave his all! Thank you for your appreciation of this song.❤
Long and Winding Road please. He sang this at the Linda McCartney tribute, with Paul in the audience. That performance is stunning.
He can sing anything.

Excellent suggestion!

Thank you so much for doing this one!
Please react to "I can't make you love me" live.
You could watch his live cover of tonight an Elton John song at rock in Rio or his unplugged I can’t make you love me.
I love George's cover of Tonight, it's so emotional, always brings a tear to my eyes even after all these years, it's timeless.
for me, "Tonight" was his BEST Cover ever. George's two concerts at Rock in Rio 1991 were incredible.

As I said Britains best ever vocalist
Yes it is a cover. It was written during the depression and sung by Al Jolson
By Yip Harburg, writer of much of the content for The Wizard of Oz. First popularized by Bing Crosby. 🙏🏽
Fantastic Performance. You should do first reaction to Symphonica...it is where he performs his songs with a full orchestra...
GREAT REVIEW Johnny! YES it’s a COVER 1932 Bing Crosby about American dream and the great depression. ❤
