Exactly only bad thing is I’ve watched all the videos so 🤦♂️idk what to do best thing about it is usually there’s no adds constantly playing throughout the whole video
Bedtime, yes! Now I can pay full attention, thank you! I always jump these videos to the front of the line, they're my favorite thing on YT. I've learned at least 5 new things and I'm only halfway through. Congratulations on the Black Badge!
I really really enjoyed this one. Such a unique episode. Felt more relatable from someone on the outside of the industry looking in. I've listened to everyone of your podcasts. This one really gave a good inside look of possible steps a less inclined person might take to get there. Makes me want to shoot my own shot. Thanks for another great story!
Edit: Alethe, what a champ! This was such a beautiful story. As per usual😅💯 Thank you both! ❤️🔥 "Eddie Vedder from accounting""doing a project for Mr.Kawasaki"😂 Classic🤣
I can see she's a great story-teller so I feel like it makes sense she would rank very highly, being able to captivate people's attention is a very nice skill to have
Thanks for the episode, Jack !!! Anytime I can listen to something that's fun and kill work time is great . Congrats to Alethe on getting the Black Badge !!!!
When I was 12 or 13, I crawled on my belly into my parents bedroom, lifted my father's laptop, and secreted it away to my upstairs bedroom. Then I connected it to the phone jack and dialed up a local BBS, the number of which I got from a similarly devious friend. I learned how to pick locks. I made a thing that went boom. I drifted away from this lifestyle because games were just too seductive. I always wonder what would have been had I stayed at the Dark Side of computers and networking.
Yoo cool story, love to see these, keep it up! But a request for the store, can we get an updated version of the posters or hoodies? There are some awesome cover images id love to have as a poster
Love your show! Another great episode. Social engineering is such an exciting topic. Makes me question if I should be working towards this instead of GRC.
" I was always kind of a manipulative kid. I could figure out how to get adults to do what i wanted them to do for me. " " when i lived in America" .. Please recommend.
Are the employees ever told they were tested & failed? Also are some of the tests set up to make the employee believe a hacker got in to see if they report it?
Jack, i love your program! I have learned a lot from it and i love that you can make it so interesting and even get different sides of the issues to talk. Thanks for what you do. I'm a struggling YTer, so i can't support you financially, but I've told people i know, including a sr avsec mgr at Amazon, and i promote you on my channel when i can. It's not much, but i hope it helps. Keep up the good work!!
Social Engineering is the first thing we learn upon entering this world. We learn how to manipulate our parents, other adults, and friends to get what we want.
@@xCheddarB0b42x That's the excuse you live by to justify your salary and shady activities. Hackers are hated by the powers that be. Unless they happen to work for them. It's McCarthyism with a digital mask.
@CheddarChunguska The suggested justification can be applied to every ruthless, selfish behaviour. The point is: When being born, you develop and apply these techniques instinctively, and you are innocent. When a teenager or adult applies the same skills, it's a choice to manipulate and betray other people. So, no one should not celebrate "social engineers". That's a pleonasm, anyway. They should be named for what they do: They are manipulatists / con people.
May I ask why clicking on the link is a bad thing (if you are not a government employee)? Clicking on a link only tells you that the email in question has been read, which you can also do by putting a picture in the email? (And if the website contains a zero-day exploit then the hacker will probably get your information anyway)
Oh LA TI DA...!! One time I got hacked and locked out , so then I turned capsLock off and boom!!! In like Flint... So clean... self hacked myself!!! All in a four days work.
these episodes realy inspire me to give cyber security a shot. currently working as a coder and i think quite alot about ways to attack my software. its terryfing once you learn about it what could all go wrong. i think i would enjoy myself as a white head hacker very much. what i could bring to the table is actual coding advise to fix stuff .. hmmm..
It could be because you listened to it on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or any other podcast platform. This episode is #107 whilst on Spotify Jack already uploaded up to episode #140.
Social engineer aka scammer, hacker, thief, etc. A dangerous occupation in more ways than one. But eh, people like playing Russian roulette. Imagine hacking the mob by mistake.
@@DavidAndersonKirk What about what she said made you think that about her? I took her intro as she was a dumb hollow-headed female rather than pretentious etc.
Whats another hour without beloved sleep... Thank you Jack!!!! Much love man keep them coming please!!!!
I also fall asleep to this😂, but it's because of the content and what I learn. Also his voice tone.

Devouring tons of your content every time I can. Thanks Jack!
Yay a new episode I can listen to while going to bed. Thank you!
That’s literally what I look forward too
she does have a good vocal manner, in my mind the sound almost renders as a pleasant and polite tick sheet
I am glad that she found her way back to Order, even if she does wield a bit of Chaos for the greater good.
Never thought I'd hear a South African on the channel... So happy!! So Cool!! Danko!!🔥❤🔥🔥

What a nice and empathetic manipulator ;) For real though, what a thoughtful woman, and good at her job. She has a very healthy outlook on it all

Ooooh the mention of L.O.R.D. brings back memories :)

This is my favorite podcast, hugely inspirational. I hope to work in infosec someday!
This podcast reminds me of replyall, another favourite. Great episode
Are you playing YTcracker's song "social engineering" in the background in parts of this interview?

Why is social engineering so normalized? Surveillance makes us all sicker.
lol because cyber crime is big business (and a huge threat to legit business, institutions etc)

She definitely nailed the annoying California accent, after saying she is from Africa.
Starting your sentences with the word SO is so played out.

Why is he re-posting old stuff on RUclips and pretending it’s new
Where did he say it was new..? He didn't. Relax. It's free content. Ffs. Yall entitled asf.
It's listed as episode 107. We know it's an older episode from the main site.
I'm only disappointed because I was super excited for a new episode...
Actually, it's new to me. 😂
