    I thought 者 at 2:18 meant person? Maybe you confused the reading(もの)because it's the same as 物 which is thing/stuff?

      I think he was going for a "play on words" to help us remember how to write them because Japanese people do that "寒いギャグ"

      OK I gotta attone, I thought "stuff" the noun was a word for all sorts of things including people and that I could make a joke to help people remember it

    4:42 The seabream one is called (鯛) (Tai), which has the same reading as the word Thailand (タイ)(Tai). and that fish literally has the Thai flag as its skin, creating a splendid pun lololololol.

    FYI, the old dragon Kanji means dragon or high level dragon. The new dragon Kanji means wyvern or low level dragon.

    0:39, I have never seen that kanji and my dictionary doesn't even show the なく reading, but it does show the onyomi ム (onomatopoeia I'm assuming). And that's the weird thing about kanji, I don't even doubt 牟く is read naku cause why not and it'll probably show up in a manga with furigana and i'mma be like "great, another useless character I'll never use but remember for the rest of my life".

      fun fact right? 牟 today isn't used like at all because it's use has been pretty much been replaced by 鳴 for all animals. But the origins for the katakana ム originated by that kanji
      really, I'm just showing off how absurd and weird kanji can be in that scene

    Very interesting video. Just an fyi, the "semantic" component of a Chinese character is a radical, the "dog" radical is actually the animal radical.

    狼=おおかみ=大神 aka great god
    鶏=庭+鳥 aka bird in the front yard
    鶴=吊る/釣る aka to hang (with a crane duh), to fish or to lure
    鷹=高 aka eagle flying high in the sky
