with or without yo- I mean delay. 😄
It is different from other tutorials though, and I think it is because it assumes you (the viewer) already knows their way around some of the effects, pedals and how to comfortably use them. The edge has made quite a living on his delay, that's for sure.
But I don't have familiarity with using these yet, so that's probably where I've gotta start.
But I'll be watching again. 🙂

Sorry for the late reply, I just came across your comment! The tone is pretty straight forward: guitar > digital delay with modulation (360ms) > vox ac30tb (in my case, a digital model from the axe fx).Thats it. Then there is a boost (boss fa1) during the distorted part in the 3rd verse

I'm a drummer and was always surrounded by guys who ONLY played VAN HALEN and couldn't write music or play anything else, we would all have to sit for 5 minutes while they played Eruption...bore ...then I took a long vacation to surf in Puerto Rico, and found a U2/Cure guitarist and a Depeche Mode keyboard player, and it was magic...and stayed for a year...never will happen again...smh

@@madeiraforte it depends on the tour.. in this clip I used a preset based on the jt17 tour, so it has about 4-5 repeats.

This is great! Now I realize I’ve been playing it wrong all along, this strumming pattern is different from what I always thought.
Can you discuss the delay effects some? And verb? Sounds like about 8-10 repeats but they aren’t as big in mix as I figured.

fishmank27 depends on the tour, this one is based on the jt17 tour, so 50% wet with 4-5 repeats. Older tours used less mix with more repeats

Hi Edo, great sound, great playing and superb tutorial once again. Thank you very much for that. I have however one small doubt with your version and that is the strumming pattern you use starting at 1:15. It sounds ok, so I would'nt say it's wrong, but to me it certainly sounds different from what the Edge does. When I compare your tutorial to the version on U2 GuitarTutorials part 6, it seems to me that Michael plays different accents here and the result sounds more like what the Edge does. Any thoughts on this from your side? Or anybody else here?
If you're referring to the 1st 4/4 bar, I just watched Michael's video and we are playing the exact same accent, the only difference is that I play all downstrokes and he plays down / up / down. @@EdoFaiella Thx for your reaction. Yes, my remark is about the 4/4 strumming pattern. With all due respect for the great musician you are, I have listened to the versions you indicated and it still sounds different from what I hear in your video. Asked a friend, also a wellknown U2 guitarist, and he heard the same. Because my knowledge of music theory is somewhat limited I find it difficult to explain in words what I think is the difference, but I think it's the first two notes of the strumming pattern. Think Michael plays two eighth notes in a row and it seems you take an extra 1/16 pause for the second note. Anyways, I am going to work with your tutorial. Tried this song many times and gave up as many times, but now, with your tutorial I'm quite sure I'm going to nail it 😉. Keep the good works going! Greetings from the Paesi Bassi, Rob/CheapEdge.
For all clarity, I am referring to the part that lasts from approximately 1:15 to 1:45 in your video. So, not exactly the first 4/4 quarter notes after the 6/8 part. Hope this helps.

I've always played the streets riff alterning 2 different patterns, but I just noticed that for some reason in this clip I'm always playing the same pattern instead! And yes, it has a sincopation on the "2 and" beat and I think that's the part that does not sound right to you. I'll try and update the tuto with the corrected part
