  • Day 4 on the epic journey North along The Great North Trail. Mountainbiking between Hebden Bridge and Barnoldswick. This time on my own.

    I stayed at the Old Stone Trough a few weeks ago, riding from Long Preston down to Hebden Bridge. For the time of year and with luggage on the bike I found some of the tracks quite hard. Very muddy and difficult to get traction on some of the off road bits. Still a very enjoyable ride. Thanks for sharing.

      Hi Graham, yeah, the Yorkshire/Lancashire sections are much more of a summer ride.

    Looked like tough rise today. Are you following the OS Maps version of the GNT?

      Hi Ian, yeah, quite tough but very enjoyable. I use Open Street Maps filtered for use as mtb maps by openmtbmap.org (a German guy I reckon).Don

    Nope, not my terrain cycle on. However pretty it might be.
