- Day 5 on my own, so only a short episode this time. The surface slowly improves as I inch my way northwards. Better tracks and easier navigation this time, but the weather turns grey, though very enjoyable none-the-less.
I went through that field as well! What a nightmare! A mudfest extravaganza! Roll on summer!
Thoroughly enjoying the Great North Trail videos, I'm currently making a plan to do it myself. I'll be section riding like yourself, and need to work on the fitness a little too...several years of not enough riding and a recently broken shoulder (now thankfully well on the way to being better) have knocked the fitness on the head a little.
Hi Mr. Overland (😋), thanks for your encouragement. With an old busted scapula the pounding on the trails may take a toll. So please take it steady on the early sections before planning the later sections. But, go for it Old Bean, it was a much bigger box ticked for me than pedalling Lands End to Johnny Groats. (Having said that, I’ve just invested in an eMTB so I can complete the trip!)

Again, thanks for making video and sharing. ('Faffing', a Lincolnshire word?) :)

Fab. Where to next boss?
Ha, stay with it Ian, I know I’m slow, but I WILL get there, (eventually)
(Probably next year)
