    Excellent review, as always.
I got to try out one of the early Klōs ukes at their factory about 5 years ago. They make them about an hour south of me. They were super nice back then, but the new full carbon fiber models are even more intriguing to me. I love the engineering effort and their strength. The tenor version is definitely on my “grail list”.

I think it is great that you had a chance to visit them when they came out. My friend Steve bought one of their early crowdfunded unit, and gave them a lot of feedback, which I think they incorporated. I love it when companies listen to the feedback of players. I imagine you had some feedback for them, too!

I got the chance to play this very ukulele for an hour when Mr. UkeStuff brought it to a local jam last week. It is every bit as impressive as he says it is. I'm more of a tenor guy, owning both one of the original Klos Hybrid tenor ukes, and a Blackbird Farallon Tenor uke. Even though this Klos concert wasn't "my size" I loved playing it. The setup and build quality were as good as any uke I have played, including my Farallon. And the tone, while not as warm as my Farallon, was excellent.
Not everyone can afford to spend over $1000 on a uke. But if you are in the market for something in that range, the Klos Full Carbon Concert is worth considering. This particular uke is a keeper, and I would have a very hard time sending it back.

Excellent review. Thank you. Superb instrument. I have asked Klos if they're going to produce a soprano version. I'm not sure if they will venture into that territory. Best wishes.

I would guess they need to do a study in the market share of $1000+ ukuleles that are soprano versus other models. My guess is that the market for sopranos in that price range is dominated by Martin (5K), and the sopranos made by the K brands. Perhaps Klōs could do it less expensively?

Happy New Year Chris. Hope it is a happy healthy one for you and yours. A very balanced and fair review of an interesting Instrument. I am always interested in ukuleles not made of wood. My experience with solid wood models in our very dry winter climate has not been so good.
I have a Martin OXK soprano, Enya Nova Pro tenor, Nova U concert and a solid wood Enya concert. The solid wood Enya has stood up very well but two other from other brands had splits in their bodies, one on arrival and one a few months after arriving even in proper storage. Storing one for 4 months is also crazy. What is the point of having it then?
There are plenty of great solid wood ukuleles some of which can run in the $thousands$ but not a lot of high spec good sounding ones made from other materials. This makes the Klos particularly interesting. Enya’s Nova Pro tenor has a lot going for it and its price is far less than this Klos. I wish that they made a Nova U Pro concert as their biggest fault is the use of not so durable plastic frets. But it’s priced well under $100.
For a better comparison though, you have reviewed the Martin HPL concert and an Enya HPL concert. Given the big price differences with the Klos that would be an interesting comparison.
I find this concert very attractive though especially, as you said, that it would be a good choice if one wanted only one ukulele. Like you though the choice of this active pick up was a poor one aesthetically and one can get a well made grey Kmise/Aklot gig bag for $25. Why can’t Klos bundle one like that….

I haven’t reviewed the C1K yet, and I need to, as I want to replace the tuners. It did show up in a blind comparison of many ukuleles last year, and was my choice out of all of the models I played.
I don’t have the Enya any more-I still have a lot of ukuleles to review that I haven’t had time (or the drive) to review, but once I bought the Clara, many models were immediately placed in the “To sell” category. The C1K fits safely in a not-cheap but not Blackbird expensive category as a good sounding great playing HPL ukulele.
I can do a comparison between the Enya Nova and the C1K and the Klōs…which means that I’ll have to do that soon, as the Concert will be going back soon.
I agree about metal frets on the concert Enya…I need to bother Enya about that again.

Through my headphones it sounds a bit better than the enya ukes I've played. Certainly not $900 better. Pretty close to the Populele 2 and Lava sounds. All subjective I guess. KLOS should copy the Lava U neck. I was surprised to see how sloppy the interior adjoining seams appeared on the endoscopic view. Looked like melted plastic beads dripping out, unless that was an optical illusion? When you said "baritone" my ears perked up. Would love to see that review. I guess this one is for the "carbon fiber" purist. But that price is out of my acceptable leap of faith I'm willing to take on a plastic or carbon fiber uke. I dislike the trend of the included gadgetry on many uke brands. Please, just give us a passive pick up and leave the rest alone. We don't need tuners. We don't need wires flapping around inside. We don't need more batteries to charge. We don't need more screens to interact with. We don't need the weight of attaching a brick to the uke. Musicians want quality construction and excellent sound from the instrument. That's it. Everything else is putting lipstick on a pig. Everyone I know uses their phones to tune nowadays anyway. It's a nice instrument. Unfortunately, it's overpriced to the extent that it will probably cost the company in the long term, IMHO. They'll zero in on their target demographic. But probably won't make many sales outside of that. I hope they have success with this one. It's been out for a while now. Labeling a uke gig bag with guitar is not minor. It says to the everyday uke player that KLOS is primarily a guitar company and ukes are an afterthought that doesn't get it's own branded gig bag. Excellent review video. Thanks.

The danger of our internal cameras is that we see things that no one was ever really intended to see. They must make the body, then add the neck, then add the top…and the top is the last piece (other than the headstock). So there’s probably no way to take care of excess glue or whatever they use to bond the top with without having enough to make sure the bond is true.
They do offer a non-electric option as a base model, and I would bet that if you reached out to the company and asked for something like the Artec passive pickup, they could do that. I’m hoping they hear my suggestion for a Mi-Si, particularly on this model.
Thanks for your thoughts on the gig bag, too!
