    One of Lynch's most melodic solo's, that and the Hunter (IMO) that descending legato tapped run at the end is absolute sorcery. Makes the fur stand every time. Yoy nailed the whole thing. Bravo👏👏🎸

      Thanks, yet again, PJ…
      That tap run is a little tricky with the double tap notes and the large interval skip at the end.

    That little sweep vibrato you do at around 0:11 is great. That's one of those things I've seen George do that is absent from a lot of the covers I see. Great work! Keep shredding!

    • @gbalulis
      @gbalulis  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@licecestep9411 the original “mom” was actually scalloped from the 10th up. This was due to the carve of the “thumb bone” around the treble bout, which limited George’s access to the upper frets. Another countermeasure taken was flattening the portion of the top of the thumb bone inside of the treble bout.
      Thanks for watching!

    Where did you find his Skull n Bones guitar? 😮

    • @gbalulis
      @gbalulis  9 месяцев назад +1

      It was a custom build involving Craig Rundels, Christopher Woods, Warmoth, Pat Wilkins, a motorcycle shop in Austin and a hardware contribution from George Lynch himself.

    Was the original scalloped? nice work. I hear this guitar is every uncomfortable to play as in the body.

    • @gbalulis
      @gbalulis  8 месяцев назад

      The temporary neck that first adorned the guitar was not. It did not have a reverse headstock.
      This guitar will sit a bit awkwardly on your leg, and the treble cutaway is tricky to navigate - especially at higher speeds. I would not characterize the guitar as outright uncomfortable to play, however.
      Thanks for watching! I appreciate those kind words.

      @@gbalulis I noticed the regular neck in It's not love video and the back of the headstock and neck were painted black.
      The reversed one in Dream Warriors in natural wood. But the neck wasn't scalloped.
      When did GL scallop the reverse headstock neck?

      Hey Frank,
      I’ll bet that Gerard Ganaden (he’s an admin of one of the FB Lynch groups) knows.
      I believe that, by 1987, it was showing up in guitar magazine photos scalloped. I wouldn’t swear to it in a court of law, though. Want to emphasize/disclaim that.
      Fun, isn’t it?

      Just did a quick search: When Lynch and Billy Sheehan appeared on the cover of GftPM in ‘87, Mom was scalloped.

    Where did you get that guitar

    • @gbalulis
      @gbalulis  9 месяцев назад

      It was a collaboration between Craig Rundels (body detail carving and airbrushing) and Christopher Woods (made body blank and CNC’ed the body carve at medium resolution). George Lynch supplied the bridge, Warmoth made the neck, Pat Wilkins finished the neck. Craig and I assembled it and set it up.

    Is that CWG Guitar?

    • @gbalulis
      @gbalulis  11 месяцев назад

      Not exactly…
      Chris is a good friend and had a significant hand in the build. He made the body blank from maple that Craig and I bought, then ran the carve on his CNC.
      The machine can only get so close, though. Craig spent dozens of hours hand carving to enhance the details. He also air brushed it. A motor cycle shop in Austin, TX (where Craig lived at the time) did the body clear coat. Craig and I assembled it at his house.
      Neck is custom spec Warmoth and finished by Pat Wilkins. George Lynch got the bridge for us.
      Cheers!
