I was curious how bad Feebleking was, so i checked his videos.
Feebleking used same bad STARTING weapon for a WHOLE GAME, until NG+ apparently.
He finished game and all DLC with 6 estus +0 while still using broadsword +10 ONLY 2h.
His rings was Cat ring, Ring of blades +1, Golden Serpent Ring. Saw a couple times RTSR and Ring of Binding and thats it from icons.
So what i saw - his gameplan was buy 99 lifegems, then go to enemy and spam R1 until stamina is depleted, get hit - run away like headless chicken for 80% of stamina bar and lifegem spam - hit - repeat until you outheal and start R1 for full stamina again. No infusions, no other items on interface except lifegems and Estus Flask, no spells, no other weapons. Only unupgraded bow and million arrows, so he could snipe Alonne knights that not even archers.
He killed 1 invader in his videos, Jester Thomas which AI could be abused...which he did. Against all other invaders he always run away either to fog gate or to death.
He always skips like half enemies as soon his broadsword cant stagger them or kill fast.
Of course buying lifegems make his Soul Memory skyrocketing to orbit, so he never plays online. No pvp.
And because Feebleking using same boring broadsword his excuse for not killing enemies, its "because boring". No shit sherlock, try to use more then 1 weapon for multiple playthoughs next time, maybe suddenly combat becomes better.
His NG+ Scholar character looks like got multiple soul drops from probably friend, they he just spend 200+ lvls into random stats and choosed 2 from multiple max out random weapons that his friend gived to him and he get his SL 320-370ish for a unfair NG+ SotFS montage.
Even with 2 UGS he managed to die multiple times in heide tower, relatively easy zone at NG+ and he saw only one red phantom. Meaning he didnt even tried to kill red dragon.
And his last character with 2 powerstancing clubs(one of them are broken ofc) looks like max lvl without rings or items.
In summary - he spend eternity bashing head against the walls in SotFS, didnt learned combat at all, but actually got decent at avoiding enemies by movement, and after in vanilla playthough skipped like 70% of the game for glorified boss rush so he could flex his 31 death count against hundreds deaths in SotFS, making it worse in comparison.

You can trash Feebleking all you want but give the Broadsword some credit. It's like the 4th best straight sword in the game.
Edit for clarification: at 40/40 in Str/Dex only a handful of Straight Swords surpass it in damage and it has lower stamina costs to swing than most of those while also being lighter. The Red Rust Sword could be considered a stronger version of it, but it has the Hand Axe moveset, not a Straight Sword moveset.

@@765craven4 That would be the case if we talked about from normal player perspective or for pvp.
Feebleking ideal candidate for rapier R1 spammer, despite him never using it in the videos.
Broadsword is way better 1h, but he never does that.
If you use 2h R1 broadsword attacks only, you putting yourself at disadvantage of having dagger range and most likely to trade.
Add to that durability damage (2h R1 hit ground quite often and its counts as separate durability damage) and suddenly weapon isnt really that good.
Poke swords > slash swords im my opinion (unless pvp), i would pick short sword/fire longsword over broadsword any time.

    • @765craven4
      @765craven4 19 дней назад +1

@Edgariki I agree mostly. I personally prefer Longsword to Broadsword (poke over slash Heavy with only slightly lower AR) for PvE but calling the Broadsword outright bad is just plain untrue. The only 5 Straight Swords that can meet or surpass it's damage are Varangian Sword, Sun Sword, Drakekeeper Sword, Black Dragon Sword and Red Rust Sword. 1 of those is a Covenant Reward and 2 aren't available until one of the last areas of the game, and 1 doesn't even have a Straight Sword moveset. Varangian Sword is, for most purposes, just a slightly better version of the Broadsword, I'll concede that. That said, considering that with one exception the only weapons in its class that straight up outclass it in terms of damage (mind you, by only 7 AR) aren't available until very late in the game (or in 1 case, the Sun Sword, would require a ton of farming to obtain) it definitely has its niche. And it's a starting weapon.

In Shrine of Amana, here is the difference between Vanilla and Scholar for me: in Vanilla, I resorted to killing all of the enemies from a distance with a bow (and I normally went through areas pretty thoroughly so it's not like I was trying to run past them all before); in Scholar, it became a fun push-and-pull situation where I had to choose whether I used my greatshield for the enemies/blocking the magic attacks, or having my torch out so I could see where the deep water was. I swapped between both frequently, switching to the torch when I had cleared a section and lighting sconces along the way. Took me a couple of tries but it was a much more fun experience than Vanilla.
I will admit, my Vanilla playthrough was years ago when I was in high school and DS2 was my first Souls game, whereas by now I've played the Souls games a lot, but again, nowhere else made me feel like this was my only option during my Vanilla playthrough (except maybe Iron Keep, though that time I just grinded all the enemies out).

In regards to using the bow:
In Vanilla the Priestesses have an aggro range of 40 units, which is higher then the 35 unit range of some ranged weapons like the Shortbow and Light Crossbow.
In Scholar their aggro range is only 30, so you can start shooting at them before they do so with every ranged weapon, and there's less damage drop off.

The fact is that DS2: Scholar is actually a well put together game, and it's also not that hard if you actually take your time. omg i finally get to hear the legend's real voice!
I'm very glad that you're finally comfortable enough in your english to share your voice with us.
here's some honest feedback from a native english speaker (USA): you have a noticeable accent, but you are entirely intelligible.
in other words, i could understand everything you said.
aside from that, you've got basically perfect grammar and everything else, no other criticisms.
when i was learning other languages, something that vastly improved my accent was a technique called "masking":
you watch your favorite english show with english subtitles multiple times, pick the character with your favorite voice, and then try to say all their words out loud at the same time as them.
try to say the line and copy the sound exactly. if you missed it, then rewind five seconds and try again.
that technique skyrocketed my accuracy with mandarin pronunciation in a very short period of time, and it even helped me with the vowel intonation (which is a totally foreign concept to a native english speaker).
i have had multiple people in china ask me if i was second generation (someone who was born in china to immigrant parents), because they had never seen a foreigner actually nail intonation.
it took me just like 20 minutes of masking 3-4 times a week for a month or two, and it was a dramatic difference.
something about being a part of the tv show and talking in the language, being able to instantly hear the differences and try again, it sinks the correct pronunciation into your subconscious.
if you'd like some recommendations of english language shows, here's a few of my favorites, very popular and entertaining shows that you can probably find online:
    USA:
    - always sunny in philadelphia
    - parks and recreation
    - wheel of fortune
    - family feud
    - friends
    - the office
    - bob's burgers
    - bojack horseman
    UK:
    - idiot abroad
    - peep show
    - cunk on earth
    - 8 out of 10 cats
    - citation needed (youtuber tom scott)

      @adamkisiel799 21 день назад +7

@@saysalla How is Dark Souls 3 worse? I liked it more since it was more fun than DS2 for me.
Besides that, Dark Souls 3 is an entire game that is not Dark Souls 2 so obviously some things will be different, for better (weapon arts yay :3) or for worse (no power stance). Also we can't just say that it was deliberately made worse than Dark Souls 2, because it just wasn't. It's a stupid thing to say. At most one could say that Dark Souls 3 is different, because it is.
And even besides that. Why go trough the trouble of re-coding and re-designing already existing areas and enemies just to deliberately sabotage your own game and then release it as a definitive edition? This also sounds dumb.
By the way, even if Dark Souls 3 was deliberately made worse than Dark Souls 2, it would not mean that Scholar of The First Sin was deliberately made worse than vanilla. (and also Dark Souls 3 was released later so maybe in this hypothetical unrealistic scenario FromSoftware only started sabotaging their own games after DS 2, who would hypothetically know).
The idea of a game studio deliberately sabotaging their own games is outlandish.

ive been saying it one the first video by feeble king and im gonna say it here again. Im convinced that he is just making these for rage/engagement bait. there is no other reasonable excuse in my mind for why he would literally state things as the opposite of the clear and observable facts

honestly its rly just preference. i can understand points of both videos. I myself want DS sometimes force me into encounters where I feel overwhelmed, bc it just feels so good when you finally master them. It also gives you weapon choice way more weight. If you always just fight 1-3 enemies at once you can just thrust them to death with your ultra dps thrust sword of your choice. but once you HAVE to think about crowd control it looks different.

Iron Keep is just too metal for me to hate, no matter how much it frustrates me sometimes.

I've played vanilla only because my laptop couldn't run scholar (i own both btw), i've played DS2 on an average of 24 fps (it could drop randomly and let me tell you, Fume Knight or the Ivory King ain't easy with less frames to react with) and passed ALL the DLC and did NG+2 on every section (some reached NG+29 due farming... Like the giant king kek), and I can say this to Feeble and every single one of those people that complain about DS2 "GIT GUD". Seriously, the game ain't that hard nor aRtIFiCiAlLy DiFfiCuLt.

I almost have to wonder if he accidentally attributed everything he hated/liked to the wrong version.
