Love small chatterbaits been using them for a few years now. ZMan also makes some even smaller ones which I have used to catch smallmouth and trout with. Havent had the best luck with the mini running true though it tends to want to roll over. The even smaller micro runs perfectly though.
I’ve been throwing the 3/8 Mini Max since late winter. It has caught me fish consistently of all sizes. Dinks and hogs will eat them. Great bait!
I've been throwing them since the first day my local tackle shop started selling them. I've caught one 2ish lb smallmouth so far....
I love the Mini Max it's by far my favorite chatterbait!
Great vid! I’ve been throwing the 1/4oz on my local river and getting tons of Smallmouth. One of my favourite new lures.
Right in my back yard!! Mad I missed ya
Virginia! James river…. The Chick my stomping grounds! Love the tips and tricks
I'm with you on the smaller presentation with the chatterbaits. I personally saw a few bass get spooked and run from a normal size jackhammer in super clear water.
wow i live in va didnt know this was going on , awesome .
I live in Richmond va , was out fishing Saturday and you came right passed me coming out of chippokes. I was hoping to meet you but didn’t end up working out I was at the weigh in Sunday. Love following you and seeing you do well. Good finish this weekend and if your ever back in town and wanna fish hit me up we find some juice!
Thank you for the tips. You have a loud truck. LOL.
Fish a long tidal river for smallies up here in Canada. Jackall makes a dera break. I use the 1/4 oz version. With a 3.5 inch spunk shad trailer, beats every other chatterbait on the market. If I get to the deep sections above the dam I'll toss on a 1/2 ounce jackhammer, but in the tidal portions, the dera break is the juice.
No worries B Lat I'm a plumber and my truck looks the same by weeks end. I clean her up on Monday morning.
Hope everyone reading this has a blessed day.
Another great video 👌
I don't fish chatter baits much but love the small ones Z-man makes.
Love the Mini Max..I do change out the snaps as I've had at least 2 open on the stock ones. I'll trim the skirt and use a baby goat. It's a killer river bait.
Very informative 💯
Great tips and bait expansions, trying to get back in to fishing. Love the videos
Hello Brian, Glad you are here in VA! I’ve been struggling with my fishing on the James and Chickahominy Lake. Would like some tips please. Thanks
I love the fact the mini max comes in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2oz! But I have noticed that the 3/8oz seems to run hight in the water column but with the 1/2oz you can run it high or low
Great job on the James last week. That riverfront park is okay. VA prides itself on its extensive public parks system. Some are great some are still improving. That Williamsburg area is nice in general. Next time you are in the area, try your fishing leisure at little creek. It's a huge reservoir but it does have it's share of trophy stripers. Bruh the humidity here in VA is the absolute worst!
Love your videos man! Got to meet you this weekend in Richmond you killed it on James River! Not easiest fishery out there.
Love the videos brian can't wait for the summer tournament!
Damn bro you right up the road from me! I live 15 mins from that place
Just ordered the micro version to try out. Good luck on the river
Chatterbait has always been my favorite. Just moved to Tampa and that’s what I’ve caught my last 2 PB’s off of. 3.13 and 4.24.
Where in Tampa ?
@@j10browngmail out in Brandon by the mall.
I have had really good luck with the zman grub tail on the mini max now they have just the mini that’s a rubber band skirt. The micro is awesome too I showed all the differences on a video on my channel. Also I wanted to say blat you are easily my favorite on the major league circuit. Thanks for the videos bro.
What kind do you use for the minis you think 12lb would work for Lanier
I’ve been throwing the mini max consistently for the last few months! 3/8 is my go to size but I’ve been absolutely slaying on it. I have more confidence in it than the jackhammer
Great lil bait,it straight catches em,loving the new hair doo hommie, keep up the good work 👊
Hey blat, what rod are you throwing and what gear ratio ? I’m on Lanier and I believe the spots will tear that up. I have all of your rods, all the pro series as well.
Y’all were so close to my house and I was super bummed because I’m a truck driver and I didn’t make it home this weekend, I was planning to come out and see y’all, but unfortunately that didn’t happen!!
I’m glad that I’m not only one not organized with tackle after tournament.
“I had a couple good ones and a couple not good ones” had me rolling
You look tired brother I hope you have the best year yet. Thank you for the tips.
Looks my gear!!! Go out super organized and looking like BLat on cleanroids!!! Come home looking like that every time!!!! Just shows that BLat is one of us common folk... which is why I follow you!
BLat when are you gonna have a tackle boat/garage sale 😂!
Man I think that smaller Chatterbait will be killer in creeks and river for some smallmouth fun. Even bigger lakes for them as well.
I just took that same color of jack hammer out on Sunday and was catching decent fish on it until my line snapped and lost the bait
I still have a few unopened zman ChatterFrog 1/8oz Micro series
Never understood why they never expanded on the smaller chatters..
There’s also micro chatter bait I think 1/8 oz it’s a little bigger than the size of a quarter
Been selling these at my shop like crazy!!!
Good video. Thanks for posting. Question: To be honest, I think almost all of us carry too much gear out on the water. Also, I wonder how much time (something none of us have enough of) we waste trying to decide what we think we HAVE to have, what we MAY need, what we carry JUST IN CASE, etc. So, lets say you've went through the whole process and are done stocking the boat. Now if you unloaded everything after you've decided on, what percentage of everything if you divided it out, would your total work out to be. Say, you went back through everything and layed it all out and found out 15% was what you think you really need. 45% of the total would account for what you might need. 35% would be a just in case. The remainder would end up being things you knew you weren't going to use, but put in there anyway. Then, AFTER you fished the tournament, you go back through and look at what you ACTUALLY used. I think this would make an interesting video break down. Normally, the way most pros break it down is that they end up showing you only about 4-6 baits that they actually used. What are your thoughts on making a video like that????
Good point. Try it in a kayak 😜.
I haven’t tried it yet but I have 2
Of them that I bought try it this spring
First…best of luck in this tournament. Just keep fishing.
Just a squirrel tryin to find a nut 🤣
Became a chatterbait friend after it saved the day while fishing for reds.
Caught my PB on a micro chatterbait.
I been trying to pair down my tackle for years...I keep finding tackle boxes I forgot about.
Need to pick up some of those. Been using the original Chatterbait and keep getting shook off by bigger bass. Think the gap is too wide on the hook and the barb is set too far back. The Jackhammer has a smaller hook with better barb. They really could just fix the barb and make the original way better. Shouldn’t have to spend so much more for a better barb.
👋
Damm wish I came out to fish the chick so I could of saw B-Lat in my neck of the woods
For those guys looking to get into tournament fishing, I wonder whT one of THOSE homes cost to rent for a few , 2-4 days?
Anyone know?
Under docks at hartwell with a jerk Shadz is really good
Hey, why are you mad at me? LOL Just kidding.
House ain't clean, boat ain't clean, thank God hair is looking very clean bobby lee
Brain have an question to ask just based on your tackle
Skillful editing, better photography; you're doing good!
If I lose a fish, 90% of the time AT LEAST I am on a chatter bait and it's because of the oversized thick hook.. I am absolutely swapping to this, I cannot stand how many come off on a standard size.
You pop any snakehead!?!?!!
The mini I love because I can skip it a little better
Thats some funny shit! spend half a day getting tackle out the boat then get a 400lb dude for the event
They should have made a smaller Jackhammer instead of a beefed up Mini....
They've been making these for a while. Years. Might be a new pro model, but these have been catching fish
Nah definitely not for years . It’s new for the 22’
Trays and cubbies.
That's some old school English right there. My grand parents would tell me to tidy up the cubby. For chores for pocket money. That's a word that was really old. Not as much of the old vocabulary used these days. Clearly, the impact of settlement generations, and history of places. In north America. Feeds into the vocabulary and English used. In different parts. Often I hear anglers use some phrase. The has a Gaelic Irish origin too. And it surprises me. That word for a storage space, is something I have not heard since I was a child.
I was looking up the origin of the phrase. A cubby hole was a tiny enclosure, made into the depth of the masonry structure of a castle. Where they would rest the infant children into. Hence the name cubby hole I guess. Kind of like bears as animals hibernate for winter in caves etc. It's really an old medieval word though (I always thought my folks had just made up the term). Apparently not, even BLat uses it.
The Germans actual build timber houses in that way too. In agriculture regions, even in modern houses. There's a kind of depression sunk into walls. In particular in living areas and around things like fire hearth areas. Where family members would rest temporarily for a while. While being required to milk dairy animals early. Later on, being up to do other labours. They'd get rest in these enclosures for a while (and still be within shouting distance, if they were yelled at for work). Kind of like fire men or first responders on duty.
Ya man ! Cleaning a house or RV * After people leave is a given ? That's why you check out early ! They want to charge you to stay ! Homie dont go for those dirty places ! Peace !
So BLAT so your giving away some cranks send them to me trying to get at your level
