Fred is probably one of the most likeable and underrated F1 Team Principals on the current grid
Shame their car is so slow right now, they're low key one of my favorite teams at the moment
As long as you dont have long hair MAYBE 🤣
Likable? Sure. But he's massively overrated? At least by the media. I assume the people in the paddock know better. As a race boss he's probably really good. He has an impressive background in the feeder series. But him cancelling the Honda deal testifies his lack of organizational insights. They lost independence (Ferrari can pull everything back they want, like Simone Resta last year who was Alfa's main designer), identity (everyone speaks Italian there now instead of Swiss-German because all of the Ferrari people), financially they are weak and their infrastructure is probably outdated for a huge part now.
With Honda they might not have had the performance in the beginning, but after a while they would. We've seen the steps they made with STR/RBR. And they would've brought the money, probably even bought the team, invest in the infrastructure, etc. etc. The point about the gearbox is not a strong one. I mean, surely Honda could've designed/made a gearbox within a year? And since they are talking about customer gearboxes, how terrible would that gearbox be? Vasseur outsourced as much as possible to Ferrari so that he didn't have to deal with the related responsibilities and could run the team like a feeder series-team.
Honda could've been their way out of financial misery. Now they still have financial misery but also gave out independence and identity and all potential to grow is out the door.
Yes, like now with Giovinazzi 😂😂😂
That laugh at the end when TC suggests Fred to step up as the FIA president... Gold.
Mr. Vasseur
Still remember the "Grill the grid"
Mikhel Schumakhueueuer....
But I really respect this man
Incredible person, his sense of humour is so good
sebastian veteeeeell
That episode was wholesome
@FoulPrinceRomero 😂😂😂😂😂
Fred looks similar to Ron Dennis for me xD
Ron : Ron
Fred : The Cooler Ron
Yes, I am almost taken aback by the similarity
fred is like the nice version
Same
Haha, we got ourselves a comedian here. Seriously, never knew Fred had such deep connections to all these drivers, what a guy! Great podcast, probably the funniest one yet.
Definitely one of the chillest and most likeable bosses♥️
Fred should be next Ferrari team principal.
He's too pure for that.
He wouldn't be able to run such an organization. He can't even to it at a smaller team like Alfa and at Renault he thought everything was in place to start winning.
@@adithyamahesh6961 True, in an interview he said that if Sauber(now Alfa Romeo) cheated a little bit more they could be a lot faster.
I mean... 2 years after you left this comment it could happen...
Well well well...

- Do you have any time for hobbies ?
- If I tell you fitness, you won't trust me ! *epic laughter*
Finally a non-online spoken podcast... so good to listen to
Fred has trademark "granddad wheeze after dirty joke" thing going on :D
I've always loved this guy, such a comedian xD
Thank you Tom this was an amazing interview.. What a nice man Fred is and what a great job you did, thank you ...
His perspective about drivers are great. I never thought he is such a fun guy. Good job Beyond the Grid team👍.
This is a great interview. I did not know well Mr. Vasseur but i was pleasant surprised. Great humor and open talking about everything. This kind of insight is great for us F1 fans. Thank you guys.
Real fans of F1 will watch the entire Video because this is incredible!
I can't agree more!
His laugh is so contagious. Really enjoyed this one :)
Such a nice guy :-) Amazing interview, thank you :-)
I think I will never forget the "let B team testing the engine first" joke
what a nice guy! can’t wait to learn their driver lineup for 2021
Fred Vasseur is one of the F1 team bosses that I'd so like to have a chat and a beer with. So brilliant !
Who is here after ferrari announcement?
16:57 he almost exploded from inside
Thanks for the podcast, such a character Fred 😃
great piece, thanks
Closest to first I've ever been 😂. I love these podcasts so much!!
His laugh is so infectious 😂
There's always an air of being drunk in his laughs
Gio holding up the bulk of the midfield last year in Australia on worn out soft tires was a highlight and a funny..oh and th P5 in Brazil was awesome too
I like Fred Vasseur, he's a chill guy
A true comedian
A very nice guy to listen to . did not know him and he is someone I'd like to have dinner with . Must have so many funny and interesting stories.
last time i was this early mercedes was already 11 seconds ahead
Only last week then. You must be a regular here.
What a character. Funny guy!
he sounds pretty much like Arsene Wenger...
actually yeah
Please keep kimi for another year...
What a guy!
I love the video of him on Grill The Grid hahaha
When the fans come back i want these tracks packeddddd to the brimmm
Be on the grid is so long I know you have it as an image of a person for like an hour and a half
Fred is great . Ron is another level . It’s clear that Ron went through some horrible things when he was young . Things he has never spoken about . He’s a good man a great man .
Fred is fantastic :)
He is called the French Ron Dennis.
The best Team Principal on the grid.
Nope Toto Wolff is by far the best team principal
Wolff and Szafnauer are that. And Vasseur is one of the worst looking at what opportunities he poured down the drain with cancelling the Honda deal while becoming a Ferrari B/C team with all the disadvantages and few of the possible perks (basically none after Ferrari got found out). And at Renault, where he thought everything was in place to start winning, he already showed not to be in level in terms of understanding infrastructure.
@@djoetma look the honda engine deal had it's own pros and cons look at that time honda was not that much good and he didn't thought that Ferrari would create a shite engine
Also we know that every single team on the grid is waiting for new regulations.
I have feeling that during the interview he had bigger and bigger transition from English to French 😂
Vidal Sassoon is Fred Vasseur's hair stylist.
Kimi Räikkönen goes Hiking on a rainy day.
True stories..
I want Carlos Reutemann on this podcast
Legendary driver!
he's not dead?
He passed away yesterday :(

I'd love to see a breakdown by country of this channel's subscribers to see how relevant that F1TV plug is.
My Rooooonnnnnn
Yeeeessssss!
Anyone after the rumors?🙄
Those rumors are without foundation
People with no sound be like: Why an hour of diiis, A?
in case alpha tauri / aston martin is looking for an idea(s) which will result in podiums, I just may have one (or two)
He said that the budget for a f2 tean is about 20 milion. What's that for f3, fregional europe and eurocup fRenault 2.0?
Monsieur
Vasseur
Lol. The F1 RUclips channel advertising VPN if you know what I mean. Hint hint, nudge, nudge. A winks as good as a nod to a blind man. Say no more.
Does sauber still have their super computer albert?
Need to get to know him better
Last time I was this early, Albon was still in Red Bull.
Come back after the Spanish gp
lekha sudish idk maybe he knows something we dont
@@cbe4008 It's a joke dude
@@avinashanish3350
We shall see...
Avinash Anish I was joking aswell 😂
Ron Dennis with a French accent
Hopefully Kimi stays
Why? He's not been on level for years and is even behind f-ing Giovinazzi.
@@djoetma On race pace he is still better than gio, last year kimi was also the better driver for the team considering points wise
@@KownKR7 Gio is a low bar though and shouldn't even be in F1, yet he's ahead of Kimi. Kimi is over the hill, has been for years. Didn't stand a chance against Vettel either, while Vettel never was the top driver he was in the non-hybrid era. Kimi had the best car
I loved this! What a character.
soy el español al que estas buscando xddddddddd
57:49 Hulkenberg
2 mins in. One like for the french accent.
Michael Schumaheueheuerrrrr
Hello new boss
bruh i would say first but there is about 20 other people before me lol close enough
My guy fred here is about to de throne and ascend to ferrari,we might actually see ferrari try for championship, though having binotto head the engineering department would be much better,if ferrari corrects something by compromising other aspects,it’s of no use, binotto should still oversee the development ,any one new will bring room for errors ultimately serving no affect to the changes made.
Vasseur should be Ferrari Team Principal, not Binotto.also his laugh is facinating
Vasseur messed up at Alfa because he outsourced everything to Ferrart, but he will do well at Ferrari? How do you figure?
Ron Dennis' lost twin
hi
1:10:00
NOTICE ME DANIEL
Its one of the 2 french clowns 🤣 looking forward to this one and thanks tc i dont realise how awesome this podcast series is
Fred.. future Ferrari Team Principal?
