When it comes to great stories, Team Gray is the story to read about. They finished 4th overall about 30 minutes or so out of 1st place. Hurricane Katrina displaced the team's headquarters from Metairie to Hammond, La. during preparation. The Gray brothers saw an article about the Darpa Challenge in a Popular Science, asked guys around the office if they were interested and it took off from there. The head programmer wrote software for actuarial tables for Gray Insurance Co. He got a bunch of books on simulation game software and went from there. These were guys from an insurance company that I've raced sailboats against over the years. I'm really proud of them.

Its crazy how technology evolves rapidly. You never know in the future these kind of cars will drive us to work and drop off kids to school. Can't wait for the future :D

This happened in 2005. It is 2013. Has anyone considered the impact besides me and Google?

It is 2019 and the whole industry is dreaming about autopilots in stock cars. It's expensive yet, but I'm sure in future it will not only be affordable but even kill taxi drivers and truckers as professions.

Sucks that Ensco got a flat tire!!! What a stupid thing to take you out of a competition like this. I love when the underdogs win.
