My aunt introduced me to Garrison Keilor in 1983. I used to listen to him on the radio and cassette tapes. Fast forward I'm now 46 and still listen to ALL of his stories.

Thank you for posting this. As you watch you can see what a vast imagination Mr. Keillor has to create his stories. I am a fan since about 1988. I never saw these interviews. Thank you!! ♥

I thank my Dad for introducing me to his Lake Wobegon cassette tapes as a kid in the 80s.

He couldn't keep up that pace much longer.

What a beautiful mind - I am amazed at his memory - his memory of everything! His memory on display here in the recitation of the counties of Minnesota!

A fellow Minnesotan! I wonder how many MN counties Rainn can name. 🤔

If you know the writings of Richard Brautigan, Read Keillor's "Ten Stories for Mr. Richard Brautigan" in Happy to Be Here. I haven't read the book in 30+ years but just thinking of that particular one still makes me laugh.

The early-1980’s was still like the 1970’s in some ways. GK almost always seemed tastefully weird outside of PHC.

Man, 30 years ago I had to produce / panel / drive the console of a radio show which ran for 3 hours, was nothing but back 2 back GK albums, oh boy oh boy, as a then 17 year old, I wanted nothing more than to t0p mys3lf when the show finished.
All because the presenter had no idea how to run the studio equipment by himself, man, that was an EXTREMELY painful day.
