I drove this in Italy on track a few weeks back. Does a very good job especially being a grand tourer and not a pure sport car. This is where people get it wrong. You can’t compare against sport cars that don’t actually fit 4 adults in it. A Roma can’t and won’t fit 4 adults , a db12 won’t and neither will a 911 , so they actually can’t compete against the Granturismo. Speed is only one factor and it’s not slow by all means. It’s comfortable, steers well, feels premium, goes fast enough for the roads and looks a lot more special than some other cars our there in this price range. Should have it gotten a v8? Probably and I know we all would have loved that but the nettuno v6 is very strong and is now a 100% Maserati powered car bringing it back to its roots. This car will do extremely well in the market.
@martinsimek: I'm owning the previous model from 2018 (faceliftmodel with camera and Touchscreen with Apple CarPlay) with the glorious sounding 4.7 V8 from Ferrari. In Italy there are hundreds of design students, not to mention established designers, who are able to create a more intriguing and current design than the one created by the German designer.

No thanks, seen this and decided to pick up the V8 GT. I don’t like the front end or that V6. The only thing that’s better is the interior and the rear. But the V8 is timeless and that what counts the most.
I wonder the pay check to say this car is worth this much and is somehow better than an M8 competition, it may look better on the outside to some people but the M8 has it beat in every other category luxury, power, usability etc….
I honestly think this car is severely overpriced for the performance it offers. I understand that if they made it more powerful then it would be approaching the flagship MC 20. The modena should've started at about 145k with the trofeo starting at maybe 170k. A fully optioned trofeo shouldn't break 200k. I feel like this car will be a slow seller for Maserati because they're better cars in the price range. I actually own a Maserati myself so I'm not hating on the brand or anything but this car is overpriced in my opinion and I feel like they will spend some time sitting on dealership lots
Nah I’ll pass the new Maserati gran turismo is a disappointment especially more expensive for 1200hp electric version folgore😂 the interior is same as grecale suv. I know cause I work at Maserati dealer and seen cars in person. HP wise im I’m happy but design wise is the same. Only thing that change drastically is technology. I rather buy a 2018 masearti and pay to change the display with Apple CarPlay🤷🏽♀️
I think if I was to roll up in Yorkville (ritzy part of Downtown Toronto) I'd get more looks in a GranTurismo Trofeo than an M8. People aint buying it to race a semi-mainstream German sport coupe. This car is a statement, its a status piece, its a Gucci bag in the arms of your blonde supermodel leaving a fancy restaurant. But I digress....
@@jimwallace4164 agree on the POTENTIAL exclusivity. But I'd bet you'd end up seeing more of them than an M8. I drive a '20 M5 competition here in northern Virginia/DC metro area and people have money. I don't see many current generation M cars at all.
Destroyed? The gt trofeo is lighter than the m8 at 4,072 pounds compared to 4,295 to almost 4,560 pounds for the m8. Not only that, it has a higher top speed and bc the engine is front mid mounted as opposed to front mounted, it handles better, due to the better weight distribution and lower weight. Not only that it looks better and is recognized by more ppl and the top speed is higher at 199 mph, and opposed to the 190 mph top speed of the m8. And the driving experience is probably better than that of the m8. You do the math. If I cared a lot about 0-60, I'd choose the m8 and agree with you, but i don't care all that much about the 0-60. I care about everything else. If everything else isn't good, then I ain't buying it. It's like buying a house or an apartment. If it isn't good on the inside, then I'm good. Infact, the performance of the gt trofeo is closer to the Ferrari Roma than anything. Is it overpriced too? Anyways I'm done with my little rant. If you are so confused about what I'm talking about, watch the top gear comparison of the 1st gen R8 V10 and C6 Corvette ZR1. At the end he chooses the R8 over the Corvette, even though on paper it's kills the R8 in terms of performance. Find out why. In short, yes the M8 beats the Granturismo trofeo in terms of power and 0-60, but that's it. I'd say the granturismo is more well-rounded than the M8. More intuitive, easier to live with, better looking, easier to drive, and in real life, faster (it's speed, not 0-60 time), not quicker(its 0-60 time, not speed). All I have to say is: you do the math? This or the M8? Again, you decide. Not my choice to make.
@@nkonghonyoranyangwe2996 I've seen that episode of Top Gear and under why he chose the R8. However, the interior difference between that generation R8 and the C6 Z06 is far more than between this Maserati and the M8. The M8 coupe is the lighter end of that range with the convertible and grand coupe coming in at 4500. But yeah, it would probably take close to a mile for that Maserati to catch up with and overtake the M8. I have a 20 M5 competition and the thing dynos 660 at the wheels, and about 640 ft/lbs at the wheels STOCK . BMW lies about power, and the cars weigh less than advertised. 340hp/ton all day. Looks are subjective, performance is not. The M8 would dog walk that car throughout any performance envelope except 9mph on the Autobahn, which we don't have. In my M5, pretty much no matter what speed, what gear, you're going to double your speed in mere seconds. Please, go drive one and see how that power train moves those cars. It wouldn't even be close. And do you think that Maserati really handles better? The M8 pulls 1.03 and has a high of 1.15 on U drag. Hell, my M5 will most likely out handle that car. It's a grand tourer with a nice engine. But it won't be able to touch an M8, GUARANTEED.

No thanks, seen this and decided to pick up the V8 GT. I don’t like the front end or that V6. The only thing that’s better is the interior and the rear. But the V8 is timeless and that what counts the most.
wonderful machine , sexy attractive look
Couldn’t agree more
I'd rather buy the Lexus LC500 & a condo.
Top assoluto
I wonder what the reliability is like for 200k
6 minutes in and we’re still talking about water bottles and hats
The prestige isn’t worth the price tag. Performance on other much cheaper cars is worth it.
Pretty sure it's sold out for the next 2 years
Why is a v6 coupe 4,500 lbs? I don't understand maserati performance.
It’s a long car
It's 4,072 pounds, not 4,500 pounds. Hope this helps😊
I’ll take the M8 comp
95k vs 225k ... but now mercedes has new coupe cle450 or some kind was because c and E coupe maybe were stopped
@@namename1 95k ??
This man has never played tennis in his life! 😀
I have :)
For that money this car should have 600hp at least
This probably is a combined clone of Porsche 911 and Jaguar F-Type
Probably front is total copy of F-Type
For that money it needed more premium features, glass roof, massage seats
Glass roof on that size of roof not a good idea. Massage seats yes that would be a nice touch
It is sport oriented gt, so from that point isn't really necessary, but I got you
@@SamCarLegion i had glass roof on my f-type r
I wonder the pay check to say this car is worth this much and is somehow better than an M8 competition, it may look better on the outside to some people but the M8 has it beat in every other category luxury, power, usability etc….
Sam, enjoy your videos... To me, this car at $200k USD is a joke.
Thank you. The SL63 is 200k usd too. Joke too?
@@SamCarLegion for what I can get from bmw or Audi, yes.
Beauty❤
I honestly think this car is severely overpriced for the performance it offers. I understand that if they made it more powerful then it would be approaching the flagship MC 20. The modena should've started at about 145k with the trofeo starting at maybe 170k. A fully optioned trofeo shouldn't break 200k.
I feel like this car will be a slow seller for Maserati because they're better cars in the price range. I actually own a Maserati myself so I'm not hating on the brand or anything but this car is overpriced in my opinion and I feel like they will spend some time sitting on dealership lots
Every time you say the word Maserati I have to laugh the way you pronounce it 😂😂
It’s the right way to pronounce it :) no bastardized like Americans do.
I can get an Oldsmobile Trofeo for a lot cheaper lolololol
Underrated comment. LOL well played!
@@jimwallace4164 😉
has a weight from 4500 lbs, really ? It´s only a 2 door Coupe with a 6 Cyl. engine.
Take a shot every time he says Maserati
Nah I’ll pass the new Maserati gran turismo is a disappointment especially more expensive for 1200hp electric version folgore😂 the interior is same as grecale suv. I know cause I work at Maserati dealer and seen cars in person. HP wise im I’m happy but design wise is the same. Only thing that change drastically is technology. I rather buy a 2018 masearti and pay to change the display with Apple CarPlay🤷🏽♀️
I dont understand why its called sport car high price but no power i raced one with a 300c srt8 😂😂😂
Not a coupe but the e63 will smoke this thing for 100k less
200k for a Maserati
A brand I recommend to my enemy.
2 minutes of nothing happening before praise
It is Ferrari Roma money for something that is inferior in like every way
Lol, I thought this was at max $150k
💯👍🏻 🇮🇹🍕
I like this what time would be delivery date my address
$200k just to get abused and ultimately destroyed by a BMW M8. I mean destroyed.

But it won't be able to touch an M8, GUARANTEED.
not impressed 🙅🏾♂️, ijs
looks bad
Not a boyfriend that's beautiful
man i wanna love this car but the truth is aside from losing the v8 the styling is just such a miss compared to the outgoing model, it looks like the retarded cousin of the previous one. the headlights that maserati are doing rn just do not work especially on this car, the mc20 may be stunning but this is a mix that does not work. the side profile is fantastic and the rear end also is gorgeous but the front is just not a good looking face. luckily the interior is genuinely fantastic and im sure it still will be a top tier grand tourer
Over priced garbage compared to competitors, especially that of Mercedes and Lexus.
200k 😂😂😂
