I've made an easy and reasonable 2-in-1 Circular saw slide guide.
It works in two ways : Circular saw slide jig" and "Panel Saw:"

Since this circular saw is fixed with a linear shaft, it's very rigid and safe.
It works as a panel saw once you place it on the wall, saving your precious workshop space!
I've used cheap stainless pipes in this video, but this can be easily upgraded by using linear shafts, turning this into a high-precision and performance jig.

@@jtcmlt1 I think you may have misinterpreted his concern. He’s not concerned about someone making this tool, he’s concerned about the copyright on video.
JSK-koubou is one of about 6 to 12 channels who consistently produce good, well-produced, well-filmed, detailed, no-nonsense/no BS videos of very useful and/or elegantly designed tools, items, furniture, etc. I heartily recommend this channel to any artists, woodworkers, or makers of any kind out there.
A perfect example of how to produce top-notch videos for fellow makers, as well as to showcase their own creativity, talents and work, minus any obnoxious music intros, no exasperating non-sequitur personal monologues about their lives/businesses/dogs/etc. Clear and to-the-point.

JSK-koubou and a few others who create videos without all the face-time chat really are doing us a favor by not talking.
Finally completed my own and it's amazingly accurate! Some pointers for those who might be interested in building one. I ran into a few issues on the build, I tried the stainless pipe option but couldn't find pipe that fitted well into the bearing blocks. I finally settled on chrome solid shafts with bearing supports. One thing to note is the saw you will be using, be aware of the blade cut depth, and the saw (left or right handed) both were different from the Makita used in the JSK build. I had to make adjustments for my Dewalt saw. Now its done I'm delighted with it!
Update: To add a bit more flexibility to the mitre cutting I've fitted a 30mm t-track with slider bar with an adjustable mitre gauge making it possible to cut more angles.

@@fabrice5057 Hi there, I'd say definitely, but use solid shafts and bearing supports, only drawback is the weight. Those solid shafts make it heavy, if you're not planning on moving it around it should be just fine.
16:47 The fine adjustment is a clever idea. I watched a few times to understand and finally realised that was the simplest way way to adjust the blade direction. Well done
Could you please shed some light on what's actually being done there? I saw this couple times and still no idea what was it for?
@@endriupj Sorry for the late response. This is to ensure the saw traverses parallel to the guides(rails). If this isn't done properly getting squares can be tricky

Zum einen findet sich das bei allen japanischen Handwerken, dass das (minimalistische und rationale) Design der Werkzeuge und Vorrichtungen einen wesentlichen Aspekt eines ganzheitlichen Selbstverständnisses von Handwerker, Arbeitsprozess und Endprodukt darstellt und zum anderen ist das eine Komponente modernen Designs: Weglassen mach klarer, einfacher, billiger und sicherer. Das ganze "grobstollige" Gedöns an unseren Akkuschraubern und Gartengeräten rührt nur aus der "bling-bling" Denke vertriebsgesteuerter Maketingabteilungen her... die könnten hier was lernen ;-)

Great idea to use hollow pipe instead of costly solid shafts.
Why go to all this trouble. The bearings are designed to use the shafts that are precision ground to exacting tollerances. I doubt that the shafts were. His workmanship is top notch. I would have spent the money on the shafts. I have seen this done with rollers and pipe and they work great too. Back in the 80s i had a cabinet shop and i set up many jigs with these bearings and shafts and they are machine grade...very nice to work with.
@@jeffreyhill3960 Current pricing of those linear bushings is around $136.00 (USD) times 4. $550.00 just for the bushings. The whole set up is cost-prohibitive.
@@murrayhill9000 Those 20mm linear bushings cost only $ 16 for 4. Buy them on Aliexpress.
@@murrayhill9000 People use dirt cheap chinese lm20uus in diy CNC mills. I think it's good enough for something like this. Misumi, a brand name with a US branch that does machining in the US, shouldn't be much more expensive
@@murrayhill9000 I found them on UK eBay, £24 for 4, £28 on Amazon, so certainly not prohibitively expensive. Stainless steel tube is also inexpensive, and the aluminium extrusions are all fairly easy to find and also inexpensive.
Another great build. A panel saw that will not cost you a lot of money to build. Brilliant!

Neat and clean, not forgotten his accuracy but for us who are a hobbyist don't know how the part called that makes us difficult to buy online. The beautiful art of work. Thank you.
The shafts look like 20mm and are supported by linear bearing shafts or blocks SC20UU, the tracks are most likely 19mm t-tracks (also come in 30mm), the metal close to the black end block is a T-Slot Aluminum Profile Extrusion Frame. These come in different sizes 20x40mm, 40x80mm etc.. All these are generally available on Amazon, Aliexpress etc.
How lucky you are, when having such a fully equipped work shop with famous tools brands.

just a planing sled. you can buy em cheap or make one, there are a ton of videos on u tube for slab jigs for routers
THIS. This is EXACTLY what I need. I don't have money nor room for table saw, but I needed something that gives me versatility and precision. And I'm frankly intimidated by a blade running in your face and having fingers close to it (even with using these pushing things). I know there a safty guards for table saws, but still.
The tranquility, the ease/easiness, the precision -could add more- is just an art for itself. Gr8 1 √√
For panel saw attatch hinge at top. Then install a murphy type hinged leg on the back. Pull bottom out away from wall fold out hinged leg on back. It will prop bottom of panel out slightly. Very good work! Nice video!

@@SigmaOnWork ))) это направляющие к ЛЮБОМУ ЧПУ станку. для 3D прнтера они слишком толстые, там используются 8 мм а тут 25 мм, для более сильных нагрузок.

Great videos - thanks so much for the detail. One suggestion, when drilling aluminium I always use a little dish-washing liquid on the bit. Same would go for the tap. It always makes the job a lot easier with less tendency to melt the ali, causing it to "grab" the bit, often leading to breakage. Same applies to drilling lead, though people do that less often. Please keep the great work coming. Regards, Steve.
Most of my drills will grab some aluminium and have to bel cleaned out. I'll try some dish washing liquid though it can be corrosive. Silicone grease is also worth a try.
I've learned that aluminium should be cooled with alcohol. We drill a lot of faceplates and two things are important. Don't use "standard" drills to prevent the melting effect. The "G" type bits are needed. And then cool with alcohol. This works perfekt. G-Type drill bits have an different shaped tip. The good thing: No cleaning needed after drilling. It's a very clean process. :-)
Super cool. This could easily replace the need of a table saw in lots of use cases, maybe not all, but definitely a bunch for sure!

I wish I had half your talent. I saw this a few times in your other videos and at first I thought it was too complicated compared to a table saw, too many extra hold downs and whatnot, but the more I watch the more I realize how much worth there is in this machine. The fact alone that it can replace most things a tablesaw can do and it takes up no floor space at all makes it a very handy tool indeed. I would have to take it off the wall for panel cutting however, because I just can't dedicate that much wall space. Perhaps I could mount it to a bench though.. Anyway, I definitely came around with this tool. Although I doubt I'll be making one. I can enjoy the craftsmanship none the less.
I ask myself if this jig can actually replace a table saw and/or a miter saw. I think it is a fantastic jig with the ability to be very precise. I am in the same position
as many other viewers: We are all wondering were to purchase the parts and the name and size of each part. You did such a good job with the tutorial why not provide a link to amazon.com or whatever so people could buy the parts ( Amazon will pay you a small commission ). If that can not be done at least a list all the names of all
parts and the size. That would enable to let the viewer buy the parts on the net. Without the purchasing assistance your tutorials could be viewed as a frustrating tease. You have thought it out this far, makes complete fair and convenient to the viewer. Best Regards Dirk

He's using saw blade: Circular Saw, Universal Blade (ARB-190) - Motoyuki Co- 190mm, thickness 1.5mm, 56T, using for wood, plastic, aluminium and steel.

eu tbm estou no mesmo caminho tenho uma serra Bosch GKS 20-65 2000W e já comprei 2 eixos retificados 20mm de 1.200 mm c/ furos m8 nas pontas + 4 pillow block 20mm c/ rolamentos na PRADO AUTOMAÇÃO.
Só não estou conseguindo achar esses 4 trilhos ( 4:33) p/ fixar as peças c/ porca T/ martelo na mesa

@@limafot é só procurar no mercadolivre, pillow block, suporte para barra retificada ou eixo linear, e chapa aluminio de 5mm. Isto tudo tem no mercadolivre. Só os trilhos T-track que nao tem, só no bangood e aliexpress.

Tip for viewers: It's very risky to tap hole using a regular drill. You risk either stripping the thread or breaking the tap.
Always do it by hand, especially when tapping soft materials like aluminium.
He knows what's he's doing, why people always focusing on the bad. If u have nothing constructive to comment just don't.
