Half-Life players don’t have dynamic accuracy penalties (they can move around and spam fire and still have the same accuracy). They also have a hitscan crossbow that acts like a broken Schmidt Scout when scoped, and a revolver that serves as the CS Deagle’s counterpart. CS players have to stand completely still to hit targets, making them vulnerable to unguided rockets, snarks, MP5 grenades and well-placed Tau Cannon/crossbow/357 headshots.
Sentry guns would be broken except for HL players spamming SMG grenades CS Shields could be also broken since they block any bullet damage from the front but are weak to explosives I would love to see DMC players in the mix too but those are just HL players with Quake weapons.
Such a clever idea to combine both games into one and bring a different experience because in the past, you could only play CS1.6 monster mod (a mod that adds Half-Life enemies into CS) and the so called Counter-Life (a mod that let's you play the HL campaign with CS weapons). If there's more to be done with this project, is to work in game balance due the craziness of the Half-Life weapons and the wallbanging power of the CS weapons.

This is literally whats its like combining 2 of your favorite flavors of an Icee slushie. You then get to enjoy 2 of your favorite things at the same time. And I gotta admit, this client is pretty neat with GoldSRC crossovers.
by any chance, does this server do any "packet translation" or "protocol translation"? it reminds me a lot of the GeyserMC plugin for Minecraft, which translates between the bedrock and java versions of the game.

The dev instead made it so that any half-life mod is able to connect. I'm guessing you're using a CS 1.6 server with reHLDS and reGameDLL_CS, clearly modified to allow both HL and CS weapons in it. The idea of not being able to buy weapons is interesting, but I think it will lead to frustration that you as a player are getting some crap instead of a weapon (like a shotgun vs a vacuum cleaner). Is it possible to make a class choice at the beginning of a round? And maybe even link the class to the player’s appearance?

I mean, maybe to balance it out, you should follow the hl spawn rules, you start with just the pistol and you have to pick up the weapons that appear on the map in random positions, except for the most powerful ones that would always have a predetermined spawn point
Actually, ZP can be considered a "prototype" of this, because weapons like the Gauss Cannon, the MP5 Grenade Launcher and the Snarks are available through plugins in ZP
How this game would play put in actually match CS players will spam the wall banging and flashes and smokes and be more campy then the HL players therefore you would never want them to take a site and setup their defense while HL players will be rushing with their faster movement speed and more accurate and powerful weapons in defense they would spam chokes making it impossible for CS players to get in some weapons in the HL will be outright overpowered like SMG with it's grenades or the tau canon that would kill everyone in clustered environments or by shooting door frames and boxes making everyone on CS team run away from cover whenever they hear the sound of tau canon charging guess jumping will also make it more difficult for the CS to hold a bomb site because they will be forced to deal with the jumper that will land behind them or starts picking them off mid air therefore if you gonna make this mode you have to do some balance changes like making the tau charge slower or making the jumping weaker and for CS some the M249 should have it's magazine shorted to 50 bullets to avoid spam or a general fix is to set a weapon limit so only one players get a tau or only 3 players get AKs

probably not, a temporary fix could be designating shops in mapping on cs you can either choose cts, tts or both teams to be able to buy or not, this through an entity in the map if the entity isn't placed both teams will have shops in their spawn this is a modified fdg or modified build, so i don't know if it still works

hl side gets better movement and the ability to run and gun
cs side gets smaller hitboxes and ridiculously high damage
