I’m guilty of not looking at your eyes when you speak, sorry. I’m so distracted by your beautiful cat.
Same
if she was not beautiful you would not have cared about her .
A good vet goes nowhere without a good vet tech. So nice to see two professionals who are so good at their work, so gentle and caring.
Too true!
That was great!
Meanwhile, Pirate is licking his arm off 😄😄😄
Pirate giving you a "baff" is just too precious! 🐱❤
What a wonderful, gentle job he did with that rabbit. I’m amazed at how calm it stayed!
It was mostly in freeze from fear, we have to remember that these are prey animals. But it did well, and the vet tech was amazing. Calm, loving and efficient, so the scary times were over asap. Just wonderful.
The little head kiss.... I'm ded☠☠☠💖💖💖
Thank you so much! I know that (fully) bathing rabbits is usually very much discouraged due to them being so sensitive and also, if healthy, very much self cleaning, but learning this, and your additional advice around trimming, is very helpful.
I know your channel will probably take a hit because this is not a cat video, but just know that SO many of us are still grateful!
Greetings to all of you from my two freeroam bunners and me.
Only a cat person here but this man is so adorable I'll watch for rabbits too. (Like you said...we all appreciate him).
Question for you Pru-Pruh...
your bunners (too cute) are not in cages right? Does free roamer mean they run freely around your house?? If so...can rabbits be trained to use a litter box?
As a cat guardian, I can say I love bunnies and the only hits Dr. Burstyn will get from me and many like me is the hit of many views. :)
@@joannaedwards6325 yes! The vast majority of them are pretty easily litter trained, when neutered, which is very important. A few of them will have issues, but it is usually trainable even for them.
And yes, mine are freeroam in my whole appartment. They sleep under my bed at night, and hang out with me around the appartment by day.
They have water bowls and litter boxes upstairs and downstairs.
They are fun, but it should be noticed that they are a high maintenance and pretty expensive pet if kept best possible. They need vets trained in exotics, so the right vet can be hard to come by and more expensive than a regular cat/dog vet.
They can also be as destructive as a six month puppy, but that is very different from bun to bun.
But they are amazingly fun, just in another way than a cat.
I have 3 bunnies and they're not in a cage but an x-pen (well 2, I have the boys together and the girl separate). While cats like to scratch, bunnies like to chew, so you have to make sure every little thing can't be chewed, including cords. They can definitely make a lot of mess but they're great and sweet pets.

Thank you for your reply. Good info. Yeah they sound like a lot of work but if they respond to your affection and all that good care I bet it's all worth it. Think I'll stick to one cat. She's enough.
Happy bunnydom. 😊
Thank you for seeing rabbits. It can be really difficult to find a good vet for a rabbit.
I used to have cats growing up, but now I have a giant rabbit. More rabbit videos would be much appreciated.
I'll see what I can do. Always more video ideas than time, unfortunately :-)
Please please please do more bunny care videos! I'm a first-time caretaker of two buns and am always anxious to learn.
1:02 Mr. Pirate: *How to give a human a bath*
You made me smile so much!! Loved this comment 💞💞
He is an expert!
Is this the same vet tech that groomed Dr. Uri's cat? Super skilled and patient!
Oh my goodness when Mr Pirate was licking your arm I swear I could hear him purring
I have three bunnies, and it’s a very helpful video! I hope you’ll include more bunny themed videos in the future
It was great to see Mr. NJ in action, how gentle he is and how he comforted the bunny. It makes perfect sense that you two men work together. And I'm sure this applies to everyone else at the two clinics. Thanks for this video.
I really hope someday rabbits stop getting the "exotic" label and more clinics start accepting them; they're such common pets but it's SO HARD to get a vet to see them! and man, when a bunny needs to see a vet, they need to see a vet RIGHT hecking then. It's scary being a new bun owner! I really appreciate the useful rabbit care tips, even more so because I know that I might have to be their first line of defense in an emergency.
I have a bunny and it was really helpful and reassuring to check my technique against an expert! I recently took a comb to rake out some of the hair that had accumulated around the upper rump (no waste had built up) and I think my senior rabbit feels a lot more comfortable.
Hey Yuri, I thought I'd post this on a lower traffic video to hopefully grab your attention :) (this is adorable by the way and if I ever get a bunny I'll definitely refer to this!)
But I was wondering if you would consider doing a video on first aid for cats. I just had a random thought and I realised I don't know what to do if my cat starts choking - I did google the cat heimlich manoeuvre but little tidbits like that would be invaluable!
thank you so much for everything you do. lots of love from australia
There are a lot of resources online that describe first aid for pets. Its definitely a good video topic, and I appreciate the suggestions so will add it to my video 'to do' list.
@@HelpfulVancouverVet thanks for the response Yuri! Would be a great video 😊
> If you don’t know what flystrike is, consider yourself lucky.
Of course I had to Google it once you said that. You were not wrong - one look at the dictionary definition and I noped out of there
I had a beautiful harlequin rabbit as a teenager. I loved her so much, her favorite fruit was cantaloupe (she would get one small cube of it a few times each summer). Even tho I'm not currently taking care of a bun I'd love to see more rabbit care content!!
This was so wholesome❤
I admire Dr Uri since a long time. Saw his assistant first time here, and he is very competent as well!
This skill should be useful to me as the companion of an arthritic cat.
Absolutely!
Never would i know about rabbits and their delicate skin and of course their bum that needs to be clean at all times so i learned something !
I don’t own a rabbit, but I used to. And boy does he make it look easy to handle a rabbit and put them in a tub. I couldn’t don that with my rabbit back then. Cute video though 🥰
Would like to see more rabbit content :D
Aww Mr. Pirate showing love.
Sure love Dr. Uri, Mr. Pirate and Clawdia! ❤🐾💛🐾💙Interesting video! The vet tech was super sweet and gentle with the rabbit.
How gentle and wholesome! I wish i knew that when I had bunnies, but will be very helpful if I get any sometime again :)
I just watched a rabbit get a bidet, totally worth my time 😂
Me who doesn't have a rabbit: hmmm interesting 🤔
Lovely 👍🏻💐🌻 thank you! The bunny looked quite happy after being cleaned so gently. Heartwarming.
Thanks for making this video. So much important information was given and the bath was done so gently. The bunny seemed to understand that it was good for her. I love how you all give so much love. ❤
This is how I do mine, but I use dermaveen too. The most successful thing I've found that works on urine burn is coconut oil. It clears it up so well and leaves the area well moisturised.
What a cute bunny. Thanks for the helpful video.
I did not hea anything too busy watching Pirate licking your hand
Poor bun! I can’t even pick mine up at all without a very stressful (for both of us) 45 minutes
Wabbit season! Duck season! Wabbit season! Duck season! Wabbit season! Duck season! …. BATH SEASON!!!! 😉
😅😅😅
That bunny seemed so chill about the whole thing. Pretty great!
Mr. NJ! ❤
I don't know why I watch this. I bathed my Bunny like that. He passed away last month. I'm still struggling.
I am so sorry for your loss.
It is heartbreaking when we have to say goodbye, especially if they are young and fit.
@@Finkeldinken Thank you! My Bunny died of old age. But I still ask myself many "what-if" questions every day. The pain just won't go away.
@@maggieincanada2062 So sorry, Maggie. When a pet is gone, all the time we used to spend taking care of them and enjoying them gets filled up with the thoughts and questions and just missing them. Take care.
@@louiseolivo-kier6632 Thank you!
I wish he had described more of what to do and what NOT to do when holding/handling
I love bunnies!!! I had pet house rabbits for over 2 decades. They are awesome.
Just adorable!!! Thank you for the great information!
I complete trust you, based on how your cats react to you.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Such a cutie!
I was just about to ask if you also squish the rabbit and theeere it is by the end of the video, squishing the rabbit's paws!
I think I would call that gently squeezing the water out of each hind paw, not so much "squishing".
@@le_th_ hmmm.... how about.... squeezhing? :D
my rabbit loves baths. He sits down in the water with his head out of water. he's weirddd.
I have a rabbit niece and nephew, and it made me consider having rabbits as pets. I appreciated the bunny content. Even though I like your cat videos, I would love to see more bunny content.
Can you do a video on how to clean a cats bum area. After my cat poops in the litter box, there are still little pieces of poop stuck to her fur around her bum. Thanks. Cheers from Abbotsford
I find that a bit of wet paper towel does the trick. If your cat has long hair, you may consider just keeping the bum area shaved (by your veterinarian) to keep the poops from sticking. I suggest using the baby carry for this delicate procedure.
very cute bun! thank you Mr NJ!
I wish I knew this when I had a bunny as a kid, it had health issues where this advice would have greatly helped!
Love to see videos with your vet tech!
Oh so wholesome!!!
Squish that... uh... rabbit?
Bunnies are soft
Great video thanks for share best greetings from Thailand Korat👍.🤟🙂
Off topic, sorry, but I think my little midget cat - female - one year old - has allergies. She has basically had a runny nose and watery eyes incessantly since we rescued her a year ago at age 4 weeks. She has had 2 courses of antibiotics with no improvement. So I am thinking allergies. Is there anything natural we can give her or any nutritional direction we should go in or any supplements you can recommend?
It is not allergies. You should ask your vet to research cat flu (treatment is not antibiotics).
If you would like my help, I invite you to sign up to second opinion tier of my patreon and I'll be happy to review your cat's medical records and help you out with a treatment plan.
@@HelpfulVancouverVet Thank you so much, I will have to save up for that!
Hopefully your vet will be able to help you once you put some pressure on them to do a hit of reading.
Fly strike is seriously the most horrible thing😰🙈
Thank you, very important video!❤️🩹
It really is!
great tutorial
Thank you for a bunny video!
Thank you sir for sharing this information ♥️
I might be crazy but I feel like I can hear Mr. Pirate licking.
Hi Mr Pirate.
0:42 Mr. Pirate showing how to bathe a human.😉
thank you so much for this video
Birds are more popular than rabbits, actually.
Squish that rabbit
can you have a rabbit and a cat? or will the cat attack the rabbit
They should be around the same size the cat should get enough playtime so they wont chase the bunny they shouldn't be alone together untill you can be sure they're fine also look up how to properly introduce the two if the introduction goes wrong it'll likely never work they'll either be bonded or just coexist and ignore each other
Generally you can. You need to be careful with introducing them to each other and watching over them in the beginning. If the cat has everything it needs it will not attack the rabbit.
@Nina Cast You certainly can. I find rabbits usually bully cats though, so if you have a really small living space, you may have to pick one or the other. Like with any other pet relationship, personalities generally trump species.
@@HelpfulVancouverVet thank you for the info! I can 100% imagine my cat getting bullied by a bunny haha
I never managed to give my bunny a bath. He hated the water and would freak out.
They usually do. It can be a huge help to have an extra person there, especially the first couple of times.
If he doesn't squish that bunny I want a refund.
meow
Raymond Chen made good on his promise to Tyler.
I feel sorry for bunny, sore botty
3:48 this part would be better with a cat
Can this work alligators?
LOL. LOL. LOL.
😄😄😄😄
oh thank you for this laugh
Yes, if you're brave enough
You give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Excuse me? I thought you not supposed to bathe a bunny ever , in fact they can get hypothermia . GI issues and gastric stasis and bloating is more of an issue and can kill the bunny early…brushing their fur so they digest less hair but bathing is an absolute no no especially in the United States. Bathing is also extremely stressful for the bunny . Never pick a bunny up without supporting their feet or bottom. Rabbits are only picked picked up by predators so holding them like his is presenting mortal danger to them.
Well, now you know none of that is true!
Little Squiggles! 💖🐰💖
There’s so much contrasting information though.. I was told by other bunny parents to never ever wash them for no reason whatsoever 🥲
