welcome back Q. i would keep camponotus due to the diversity and weird tendences like tandem running, also they are really visually appealing (big and colourful) and are also relatively easy to care for with usually passive behavior
I would definitely keep pheidole since there are 1000+ species, and they are super diverse! So many different behavioral patterns and castes to observe :). Keep up the good work I love your videos!
i love the spanish pheidole phalidulla but they are in all places here in spain, during the nuptial flights the streets are almost floooded with queens and males, and it stays like that for a mont or two
I would choose Camponotus, there diversity makes them really interesting, some are giants, some are tiny some live in wood. They are just so incredible
Personally would love to keep bull ants for the rest of my life as their vision and intelligence are so marvelous. I've only ever seen them twice in the wild here in Sydney and both times they seemed so curious and interactive with me. No doubt I would keep them for life😎
I'd have to go for iridomyrmex, I had a colony of meat ants a couple of years ago and they definitely kept me on my toes. I just love all the little quirks they have while still being crazy energetic and eating everything I put in their enclosure. I gave them away when school got a bit intense but i'm looking to get back into it, awesome to see you posting again btw.
I have to agree with you bull ants would definitely have to be my pick. there behaviour and size is incredible but I also really enjoy it when there in the founding stage when you need to make sure the queen brings the insect back to the nest.
Camponotus all the way, they come in so many different shapes, sizes and colours while sporting so much unquie behavour throughout their genus such as tandem running, polymorphism, the size of some repletes. They are just so stunning of an ant genus. Plus the size of them makes them wonders to be enjoyed
The only genus I would keep if I had to would also be myrmecia as I believe they are the most interesting and fun ant to watch. Almost like you can see them thinking. And they look badass!
Q: Camponotus definitely. they're easy to house and their population can increase rapidly. They are also harmless (except to the environment in some cases!) Being the largest genus of ant, they are very diverse with some looking stunning (eg. Camponotus pennsylvanicus). 5:25
Well if I could only keep one species of ant it would definitely by myrmecia. They are solo hunters, (it is fun to watch them hunt live food), they are big in size, there are lots of different species and some that have rarely been documented or looked at ( it is cool discovering the ways the ants do things and being the first one to do so) and lastly almost all species are in Australia so it is like a special opportunity that not many people have.
Yes I am for Australia and my answer is probably the very popular answer: the Camponotus Genus. I like it because of its calm and curious personality, as well as the easy keeping generally speaking with that category of ants. Though it comes very close with other species I enjoy, like Iridomerymex Pupureus because of bold and territorial behaviour and all the Myrmecia ants for obvious reasons. My favourite is specifically banded sugar ants for their size and over all curious demeanour. PS: I hope I spelt all those names correctly.
I would keep Camponotus if I could only keep one genus, so many ants are beautiful however the variance in colour between the species of camponotus and the different casts of workers gives them such great personality. Plus their size allows for great viewing of tiny details that would go unnoticed with many other species
I'd keep camponotus as the only genus for the rest of my life since the genus camponotus has the largest amount of species compared with all other genus. Also the species of this genus are very variied. There are big ones, smaller ones, yellow ones, black ones, black ones with red pigmentation and many many more. (Btw i dont join the giveaway)
Ah I loved this! And for the question: I think I would have to go for the Camponotus, just because they are perhaps my favourite ants of them all. Although Formica wouldn’t be out of the question either, as I think the Black ants and Wood ants would both make really fun colonies to watch!
I caught a similar species on the 14th of November and got workers after more like 80 days lol, the 4th is gonna arrive any day now. I’m hoping to have 15 workers in about 2 months time, definitely the best colony I’ve kept so far.
for your question, I would choose Paratrechina umbra because they are native to my area because Some species of Paratrechina have been reported to engage in mutualistic association with caterpillars and I love caterpillars.
Question: amblyopone australis I just like how interesting they are they can snap there jaws really FAST, drink blood from brood and also have really cool mandibles. :)
Mate id have to agree with you. Im still yet to keep one but i do have one on the way. Nigrocincta would definatly have to be one of my faves. Buut in saying that im loving the look of suffuses atm. Got the hard questions man 😂😂
I dont know why they are so facinating, maybe its the dangers of having them, or if its just their sheer beauty. Either way im finally getting one this coming week
Some may find it strange but if I were to keep one ant species it would have to be rhytidoponera. I just love love love tending to them all the way from queen to colony, they are a joy to watch feed and an Aussie STAPLE. Thank you for the chance to win!
To answer your last question, I want to share about my love of Camponotus CA-02. It’s a really interesting ant, the biggest ant in North America, which is why I would keep it for the rest of my antkeeping career if it was the only Species, not genus.
I do not know much about an yet but i am interested in starting a colony so that prize would really help me in my journey to becoming an any kipper but if you must know I guess I would choose campanadas ants
enjoy this video love to see more from u Answer of the question: I will keep componotus as they r big and have different size workers and majors r massive they totally a tank and there queen r clastrual so tensionfree in founding stage
I always fail at keeping camponotus. So I would like to keep Camoponotus spp for the rest of my life, because Big and Easy to See and Keep, Lots of Different Types, more on the Friendly side, and these ants can Live for a really Long Time.
Yeah man, from what I've found, once they get going they seriously get going. This colony has easily tripled in size since recording them for this video!
Carpender ants because they take a while to grow, which gives time to set up new nest for them. They are very easy to care for when being a beginner and veteran in ant keeping.
Hello, fellow ant keeper. With a heavy hearth decision, I choose Messor Barbarus. Because I just love the way they store and manage their seed stock in nest. 😂
Myrmiecia pilosula myrmiecia Piliventris myrmica nigrocinta, so personally myrmiecia sp or polyrachis this is a tough one, but myrmiecia are jus so intelligent
I keep trap jaw ants because i have seen some trap jaw ant or queens in my home town i like to keep them because there very interesting but i have never kept them because some of them were not fertile or haven't mated
welcome back
Q. i would keep camponotus due to the diversity and weird tendences like tandem running, also they are really visually appealing (big and colourful) and are also relatively easy to care for with usually passive behavior
Aye I can get behind this! Camponotus have increasingly grown on me recently actually!
I would definitely keep pheidole since there are 1000+ species, and they are super diverse! So many different behavioral patterns and castes to observe :). Keep up the good work I love your videos!
I love Pheidole as well, good choice! Thanks for watching man I hope you liked it!

The amount of satisfaction you get after receiving your first Myrmecia workers is like nothing else!
@@ant.invasion yeah I recently got my first ever Myrmecia works
i really love these types of videos all the satisfaction of watching 10 update videos on the colony with a 2/20th of the time.

Any species in particular too? Also I like the timestamp aha!
I love watching the beginning stages of an ant colony, the growth is always so satisfying
Me too, I absolutely loved filming it all, plus seeing their progress in one video!
Well if I could only keep one species of ant it would definitely by myrmecia. BTW I wrote this before I watch ant invasion say what his favourite species would be. I just realised that it sounds almost exactly like what he said.
Ok
Yes! I have been waiting for another video of yours and I can not wait for what is to come!
i would also choose myrmecia. they always seem so intelligent. i love watching them solve problems and track things with their large eyes

Thanks Hayden, more on the way!
He's back! Love too see these vids mate! and some verys cool sugar ants
Thanks man I'm glad you enjoyed! I've actually grown to love these little guys so much :)

for your question, I would choose Paratrechina umbra because they are native to my area because Some species of Paratrechina have been reported to engage in mutualistic association with caterpillars and I love caterpillars.
and also, I am new to your channel
Carebara diversa are definitely my favourite ants to keep it is sad that they aren’t native to Australia
Yeah I've always been interested in these guys, have you heard of Pheidole antipodem?
Question: amblyopone australis I just like how interesting they are they can snap there jaws really FAST, drink blood from brood and also have really cool mandibles. :)
Yes what a great species!
messor barbarus easy to care for and fascinating to watch dig and make ant bread
Yes I love this!
Same with Pogonomyrmex
Mate id have to agree with you. Im still yet to keep one but i do have one on the way. Nigrocincta would definatly have to be one of my faves. Buut in saying that im loving the look of suffuses atm. Got the hard questions man 😂😂
Yeah man nigrocincta’s are so bloody sick, proper little pumped up ants 💀
I dont know why they are so facinating, maybe its the dangers of having them, or if its just their sheer beauty. Either way im finally getting one this coming week
Think I would go for Messor because I love watching them bringing there seeds back to there nest. And I love there majors 😍
irido as they were the first ants that got me interested in them
Can’t go wrong with iridomyrmex I reckon, that was my second choice!
Some may find it strange but if I were to keep one ant species it would have to be rhytidoponera. I just love love love tending to them all the way from queen to colony, they are a joy to watch feed and an Aussie STAPLE. Thank you for the chance to win!
I watch every second of these lad!
Ahh thank you kind sir, very much appreciated ;)

Answer of the question: I will keep componotus as they r big and have different size workers and majors r massive they totally a tank and there queen r clastrual so tensionfree in founding stage
Love to see the Camponotus colony doing well
i would keep solenopsis, they’re very fast growers and are always very active , especially when fed.
They are very strong also. They grow faster then the speed of light!
You have to be good at ant keeping to keep such a fast growing ant species
@@Arielle-e6u true
Saw 2 queens in my pool, but sadly I’m not staying in America for long and in Australia, the fire ants are running rampant

FINALLY UPLOAD AFTER A YEAR :)
Yessir, been a while aye!
Carpender ants because they take a while to grow, which gives time to set up new nest for them. They are very easy to care for when being a beginner and veteran in ant keeping.
W vid and i would chose suger ants cuz i love how they store the food
I have 5 queens of the same species and 1 queen what should I do with them the 5 queens can grow a huge brood within a month
Bruh thats just honey you can see it through thier bodies 3:37
Awesome video as well.
Lasius flavus cause they are yellow, not too aggressive, Polygyn (so the colony can't die) and cute. Greetings from germany
Great Video!
Thanks bro!
YOUR BACK!!!! :D
I am! :)
Genus camponotus because I really like sugar ants
I would keep fire ants because they are very common in my hometown and would already have adapted to the temperatures.
Hello, fellow ant keeper. With a heavy hearth decision, I choose Messor Barbarus. Because I just love the way they store and manage their seed stock in nest. 😂
i would choose formica fusca or black garden ants
Camponotus Pennsylvanicus because they are the most native ants in my area
as an new ant lover i would like reccomendations for how i can sustain a colony
I would keep Camponotus do to their size and easy to keep
carebara diversa, they are amazing
camponotus, very easy to keep
Myrmiecia pilosula myrmiecia Piliventris myrmica nigrocinta, so personally myrmiecia sp or polyrachis this is a tough one, but myrmiecia are jus so intelligent
