Leave a comment down below and let me if you have tried removing the front baffle on your Exmark or Toro 30” mower and if you noticed a difference in mowing performance.
I have ran a commercial 30 for 3 years and never once thought about taking that baffle out. I am removing mine first thing tomorrow to see how it cuts. Thank you for this content.
@@LawnCareBusinessSuccess update. So I removed the baffle and WOW. Huge difference in not only the amount of stuff that stuck to the deck but also in the discharge. I don’t bag any of my yard. Either side discharge or mulch. I didn’t have nearly as much clumping of the grass as I normally do when side discharging. Thank you for opening my eyes to this.
@@CraigThurston2014 ok let me know how it goes. That will be interesting. I’m pretty sure that baffle is in their specifically for mulching so it might not perform good for that if removed.
Interesting experiment. Though I primarily mulch with my Commercial 30 (only discharge when grass is too tall and/or wet) this video was interesting to watch. And interesting tip to know as well. I guess it's good they bolt in the front baffle as opposed to welding it in so you can remove it. And bolt it back in later if you want to mulch.
Yes the fact that it is bolted on is proof it is meant to be removed for certain applications otherwise it would be welded like the one in the rear. Thanks for watching.
Yes it absolutely worked. You still get some build up but not as bad or as fast. Because I always bag clippings, I took it off and never put it back on again. Thanks for watching.
It’s been great. Very sturdy and versatile. I love of compact it is. What originally sold me on it was seeing the petite sales rep lady able to easily lift a large Exmark Lazer Z with it at the GIE expo in 2019. Thanks for watching.
Hello How are you, i have the same mower with the kohler command pro 200cc engine, Please help me, what oil filter and FUEL FILTER do i need? I looked online and instructions manual and i cannot find any info on what specific item i need, i dont want to ruin my mower, please help i would appreciate it
I had a 32” Exmark Staris for a few years. Fantastic machine. Did lots of videos on it. Ultimately being the wet Pacific Northwest I found it too heavy for the lawns I do. Especially with the narrower tires that 32” stand on utilize. I also have a 36” Turf tracer with sulky and that has been fantastic because I can get off and just walk behind it when lawns are too wet to ride. Thanks for watching.
Hey man, I’m on my 3rd year of business. The exmark 30 has caused a lot of fatigue walking all my properties about 15 a day. I got a gravely 36” gear drive with thw idea of using a sulky with so I’m not so fatigue. After using it only 2 days I have big buyers remorse as I think a hydro will be much better. Have you ever used a gear drive walk behind? Does it get better or is a hydro just so much better? Not being able to just go little reverse each turn is so tough.
I’ve never used a gear drive. I’m in the PNW so we get a lot of rain and belt driven machines don’t do well in wet weather so I’ve only used hydro drive. I think the hydro is the best. You can’t beat the versatility and if you put a swivel wheel sulky on it it is essentially like a stand on mower with the ability to reverse. Thanks for watching.
Yes good point. Especially if you start using it from new before the deck gets older and rusty. I know a popular one is called fluid film. Thanks for watching.
I mean baffles are usually designed to be easy to adjust or remove for the purpose of customizing what kind of mowing you are doing like he explains in the beginning
How has the 30 held up? We are looking for a larger walk behind, and didnt like the Ferris FW15 cut quality that we used to run. Scag is supposed to be terrible.
Love it. This is my fourth season with it. It’s been rock solid. Only thing I’ve had to do with it is change the the blade drive belt that goes from the left blade to motor for the first time at the start of this season. All other belts are original. I use this mower for the majority of my lawns each day. The cut quality is awesome. I always get compliments on it. Check out my Instagram account under the same name. Lots of photos of using this mower. Also I’ve done a bunch of videos on this particular mower in different conditions and showing different maintenance items. Thanks for watching.

I know right. Seems so obvious once you think of it. Thanks for watching.

@@Outdoorswiththeclines awesome. Glad you got good results as well. Thanks for following up.
I have the same problem with my exmark 30!
Thank you for the tips.
M going to taking that baffle out this weekend
Thank you for sharing
No problem. As shown in the video it does not completely prevent build up but it makes it much more manageable. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video, Julio! I'll try this next week.
No problem. Let me know if you find it helps bagging performance for you as well. Thanks for watching.
@@LawnCareBusinessSuccess I'm going to try it for mulching purposes

Do they make regular highlift blades for this mower?
Exmark does not make any but there are aftermarket high lifts available. Thanks for watching.
Interesting idea. For me I mulch a lot more than bag so may not make sense for me if the baffle is there for mulching capability.
Any update did it work. Or go back to old way.
Yes it absolutely worked. You still get some build up but not as bad or as fast. Because I always bag clippings, I took it off and never put it back on again. Thanks for watching.

Has anyone gone with a bigger fuel filter?

Have you ever thought about a small stander? Or do you have one already

What kind of blades are you running? Thanks for the content!
Just the stock Exmark gator style blades that came with the mower new. Thanks for watching.
Did it increase or decrease the amount of times you had to empty the bag?
my biggest complaint about it that it does clog too easy in think grass you either have to keep on it, or cut twice

So it performes better?
Thanks!! I’m doing this

Some kind of a silicone spray might help with grass sticking to the underneath of the deck.
Yes good point. Especially if you start using it from new before the deck gets older and rusty. I know a popular one is called fluid film. Thanks for watching.
This is also on my toro 30inch timemaster
Ok that makes sense. I believe it’s the same deck shell. Thanks for watching.
Buy a product call Slip plate..90% less grass sticking. Problem solve fella
Not gonna lie for 2500 I ain’t taking shit off it better do is job
