Dingers are fine but I would prefer a bunch of doubles. These guys over-swinging was what in part ruined the last few years. Just meet the ball your strength and wrist action will do the rest.

So I was not directly talking about Soto but the team in general. However if the batting glove fits wear it. A main failure last year was the inability for this team to hit with runners on base and piling a bunch of Ks with runners on. They were all too interested in exit velocity over contact. Look at the record generally when a player got to the Yankees their BA gies down their Ks go up and the homers increase while the clutch BA craters and I hope Soto is immune to that virus, but “ chicks love the long ball” and homers make the highlight reels, and the team’s run production is not as efficient. I fear this guy will catch “Yankee bat fever ” and try to turn into Mr. Long Ball, I hope I am wrong as he is an excellent all around hitter. Finally remember pitching rules in October and November, you have to be able to maximize your at bats, move runners, play situational baseball and eke out runs and score any way you can. Few teams can slug their way through to the Series we sure has heck have proven that over the last decade.
I can’t wait to see Juan Soto play. I hope we keep him. Man… Soto and Judge. What a nightmare for opposing pitchers.
