Bro - I ran past you in Sydney after you fell at 40km. On Sunday, the EXACT same thing happened to me. Collapsed and passed out at 40km going for a sub 2:50. Your experience sounds very similar to mine, scary shit. Your prep and hard work to get this done after what happened last time is motivating. Congrats bro, earned every second under that 2:50.
Damn bro that hectic and really unfortunate for you. It's a scary situation to be in! Hopefully with this video you can see theres always another shot at sub 2:50 just around the corner. Rest up then dial in on training again. No doubt sub 2:50 for you next marathon!
I remember watching the Sydney Marathon video and being so devastated for you Tommy! I have really loved watching your prep for the GC Marathon (even more so as I completed my first marathon there this year and got a lot of motivation watching your training block). Huge congratulations on the incredible prep and race! You should be so proud! 👏🏻👏🏻
You absolutely killed it brother! It was so good to see you absolutely flying through the course. So well deserved. Appreciate you coming over to chat after the race too. More big things to come!! 👊👊
Those km splits are so solid 👌 nice to know everyone's going through the same exact thoughts after going passed the finish line at 32km. Don't think you can every fully prepare for how tough those last 10kms are haha. Crazy time, sick video
Cravking effort mate. Super happy for you. All had wotk payed off. I unfortunately had to pull the pin at 15km 😢 That sub 2.50 will have to wait till melbourne now. Again congratulations, and has been a pleasure watching you evolve
Huge effort! I hit the cramps at 29km just before the bridge, never had them in all of my prep but wishing I carried a cramp fix shot, it killed the rest of my race as my pace was shot. Putting it down to gastro or food poisoning from the weekend before which was rough... Think I saw you as I was heading south & you were cruising back north
Good on you mate! I love your mentality of not giving up! Need more Aussie men like you showing the way to young men of the new generation. Your honesty and your hard work is a fresh of breath air. No BS with your editing or fancy camera work like some other ‘content creators’. It’s not the “video” that makes a good content creator, it’s your honesty, hard work, determination and grit. Well done mate.
Not a chance mate, if anything I felt like I didn't do much at all on race week. My body was feeling amazing and recovering so quick off 120-130km weeks. I feel I did the right amount on race week and was proud of how the race turned out.
