Plus it's a status symbol for some reason and it appeals to some people like my family. We've always been fans of diamonds and it wouldn't hurt to add some on the watches :)
Well, I'd skip a bunch of countries in the Middle East and the general neighborhood, such as Northern Africa and Southern Asia. For $25K and higher, there are world cruises that last many months and you can visit nearly a hundred ports of call. Perhaps when I retire my mortgage and I withdraw from my 401K two decades from now ...
+Nathaniel Sebastian I totally agree. These watches are just to flash your money. I would rather buy a plain steel black rolex sub than any of these ones.
Erik Ternsjö Love your reviews Erik, very well made and descibed + thanks again for taking the time to go to all the effort of travelling, videoing and uploading. Much appreciated by all of us here.
Erik Ternsjö Great stuff, can't wait young man and have a great Christmas there, maybe someone will put a Patek under your tree :);). Ho Ho Ho or maybe Ha Ha Ha........
Slight correction around 3:50 a turbillion is not the most complicated mechanism to implement in a wristwatch, most in the industry would contend the minute repeater complication is far more difficult to produce.
If I had the money, I'd most definitely pay a million dollars for a watch. I already collect watches, and have at least 10k invested in watches already. The craftsmanship on a fine, Swiss-made watch is something you just have to experience with your own eyes, and touch. It's amazing.
they probably had sold a lot of cheaper ones but its like in the car market where so many people buy toyotas than lamborghinis. people buy a lot of cheap stuff but only a certain amount of people can buy or afford the high end stuff so thats why it sits around
***** If the video was flipped, the crown would be on the left side. In fact, the crown is still on the right side. But the video could have been turned backwards.
They should sell Patek Philippe. It doesn't have any diamonds, but it has rich history and the movement is exquisite. I can't own a Patek, but i got a Panerai, which i really love wearing it anytime.
You can buy these exact same watches in Shenzhen China for $300/each and only the experts can tell the difference. I know because I own a few that are surprisingly high quality, 8 years never broken.
Because having a timepiece on my wrist is more convenient than digging through my pockets. Besides, mobile phone batteries drain pretty darn quick - if I used my mobile phone as my only timekeeper, when the batteries run dead I will be stuck. At least my watch can keep time and date, even when my iPhone has run dry. My watch is an automatic mechanical, meaning no batteries to run dead / wear out AND it's got a power reserve of 42 hours. THAT is why people still use watches.
All of those are gaudy as hell. No AP, JLC, PP or Lange, even the VC watches were nasty. It's a crap selection for people who only care about having something shiny on their wrist. Hardly surprised though considering the owner was wearing a solid gold sub.
Strange you say that because I've just posted a comment here to that exact statement without even looking at your comment. Evidently you know your timepieces and the real people that attract such interest in real craftsmanship. Thank you for validating my point, may you one day own a Roger Smith sir!
Could she have shown any more clevage? And those watches piss me the fuck off "Lets cover it in diamonds.... wait then there's no passion or thought in the design and you can barley tell time... WHO CARES, DIAMONDS!" Sickening.
The names are incorrect on some of these. In the screen text it says "Vacheron Constantine" when in fact it is Vacheron Constantin, and it says "Zenith Columbus" when it is really Zenith Christopher Colomb.
That quarter alarm sounded like a bus bell. Imagine someone wearing that shit at a meeting, and every quarter of the hour that shit goes off and creates some awkward looks across the room. "Can you turn your watches off please"
To do that Vacheron Constantin justice, it is a perpetual calendar, a tourbillon, and a minute repeater. When a watchmaker combines those three complications together, it will be worth a heck lot of money due to the high demand of knowledge for designing and craftsmanship. The resulted final product is one of the most complicated timepieces ever conceived.
superIB97 Dude, if you can't tell the difference, then you probably don't know about watches. Just the proper ETA movement cost $300 (there are a bunch of ETA movements and there are fake ETA movements). Also, probably it looks similar when new, but give it a year and you will see.
I can tell a fake by looking the vessel. Rolex are the easiest as the date is always waaay to small in fake ones. Also, you can tell someone has been buying replica merchandise in China because they look like a billboard showing of the most cheesy brands with giant logos.
He mentioned "having a face" after wearing these watches. ....well, if somebody knew I had spent $700K on a watch (that is only guaranteed to work for 2 years), I'd be too ashamed and embarrassed to show my face any longer.
Life out of balance. If you spend this much on a watch, or on jewelry or a car, there is something not right in your one and only life. Use your excess to seek spiritual counsel and work on loving yourself. A complicated diamond watch does not love you! Nobody will REALLY love you because you have a million dollar watch. Figure out the way to be FREE from your concern of what others think of you. You do not need these things. Nobody will love you, really LOVE you, because you have crazy expensive items.
:42 seconds in an put the video in slow-motion. Anyone else notice the second hand moving backwards....? Please tell me the film was edited to play backwards...
Uhhhmm why at 0:45 is the Rolex sweeping counterclockwise? The video is playing backwards obviously, because this certainly isn't a Rolex complication.
they looks like on eBay you can buy for £10 of course fake I don`t understand those people what is the point to have a very expensive watch? just show off/?
+WE ARE ALL THE SAME I don't understand the point of having a fake watch of an expensive brand? Just save up and buy the real deal (as a I've earned it piece for a special occasion) or go vintage/pre-owned. You can easily buy a pre-owned piece of a decent high end Swiss brand at reasonable prices on the web. Just go look for them. Otherwise, you can easily get good quality mid tier Swiss watches (or others) which won't cost $1000's of dollars.
I think someone made a mistake in translation... Instead of "time piece", watch became "WATCH THIS THING ON MY WRIST"... Oh well, at least they're keeping the Swiss watchmakers happy.
the nice thing about watches is that they never really need to be thrown away, watchmakers spend a lot of time repairing these expensive watches to keep them running forever. Still a bit ridiculous, but better than an expensive car which will be out of date and/or broken in a few years.
I'm a watch person. People like chains, rings and other bling as some would called it. But me I'm a watch man i dont have alot i have only two and both are nowhere near expensive or pass 400 dollars mark but I still find it fascinating how we have a time in our wrist
on what basis patek is better?? do you actually realised that vacheron constantin is just as revered and highly regarded as patek and considered one of the holy trinity of ultra luxury watch brands?????
robbyjai My friend these watches are very stupid. They are only expensive because they are covered in diamonds. The designs are ugly. Nothing special about these watches, Except for they are covered in diamonds. Patek has a better design and looks much better.
John Silent In my honest opinion, Patek is much overated brand. Design looks like seiko, and it can be broke too. Once you broke you sended to patek and you wait for 6-9 months. the repair is really long. your money has died 6 months. compare to seiko and rolex, it can be strongger watch. In my opinion, blancpain, vacheron and breguet are the true watchmaker, they are exist in 17s. vacheron exist in 1775. while patek is 18s. the patek nautilus date just is very ugly watch. is dull and for my grandpa. breguet is the founder of tourbillon, and now all watch including patek follows. the patek tourbillon located at the back, thats stupid. when you have something beautiful you put them in front, but patek put them in the back. buying patek tourbillon is just like buying gold INSIDE THE EARTH. you need to dig them first if you want to see gold. only some patek that i like, most of them are watch for grandpa.
John Silent also, patek have the one with full of diamonds its PATEK 5719. let me quote your words. "My friend PATEK 5710 watch is very stupid. They are only expensive because they are covered in diamonds. The designs are ugly. Nothing special about patek watches, Except for they are covered in diamonds."
They're overdone. I'd honestly much rather buy a nice, stylish watch that costs from 1-400 dollars, rather than spend the GDP of a country for watch just to show off.
I loved listening to the chinese vendor! It is fantastic to hear him say why a chinese would want to buy this.He doesn't even realize that this shallow objectionable, materialistic, way to assess someone's status, value and worth as a person is disgusting.chinese people actually believe that one's level of moral "goodness"can be assessed by their wealth and that your status compared to your neighbour's is only important thing in life. This is being exported through emigration from asia. Values.
It's called "conspicuous consumption". The new rich seem to go for that a lot more than those that have had money for a while. Just like the rap musicians in the US, they cover themselves with shiny objects.
A good watch is built to never "Fuck up" my watch is 70 years old and has never "Fucked up". These watches are works of art, masterpieces so to speak, would you make your masterpiece faulty just for money? And if you would, then you don't understand what watch making is all about.
I don't think these are professional watch sellers. The way they handle and hold these watches is just like holding any other low cost watch. No gloves, no respect.
I was in Hong Kong buying one bracelet and the person sitting next to me bought a dozen of diamond rings. Hard to imagine this until you see it in person. Oh, btw people were lining up outside of jewelry stores and brand name stores around 9pm trying to get in, like waiting in line outside a night club. It is insane!
It would cost millions alone just to fly planes there. These watches are made by some of the finest watchmaking houses in the world, with some of the most complicated movements available. If you don't want to look at these timepieces, why are you commenting on this video?
The high price of luxury wrist watches should come down to complication of movement, build materials, quality of construction, and total quantity produced. There is a lot of tradition and prestige associated with holy grail brands like Patek Phillippe, Vacheron Constatine, and Audemars piguet, but the underlying principle should be stressed on a love of horology, not on a gaudy expression of wealth. I feel the rich Chinese customers are no different in their tastes to rappers who choose a Jacob and Company watch adorned with diamonds, yet only having an ordinary ETA movement running the watch. Both customers totally miss the point of owning a rare and beautifully hand built timepiece and are more driven by what is going to be noticed and look expensive.
I read this story where a guy in Hong Kong threw a lavish party, and in walked what looked like a beggar and said to the host that he needed a rather large sum to start a business, and the host, to the astonishment of the guests, wrote him a check. And the guests at that party asked him, Why?, afterwards. And he said that the man walked with confidence, and spoke well - though he was shabbily dressed his attitude said that he was obviously going to be successful. So, it was not a risky bet.
There ya go; absolutely! The Lux-O-Brand names USED to be worth big money. But to-day, with mass production so good and so cheap, there is nothing Lux-O-Brand can do that Timex can't do better - and cheaper.
It seems to me that the less a country is developed in terms of social equality the more popular such things were. In east-north europe this was the case 10 and more years ago.
So tired of people putting diamond and gold on watches to raise the price. I wanna buy a watch, not a freaking bracelet.
When they have money but don't know what to do.....if i were them, i would spend on life time vacation in every country
I love watches. I owned a few expensive watches worthy of a collector but I have to say most of those super expensive watch are ugly as shit.
+Nathaniel Sebastian I totally agree. These watches are just to flash your money. I would rather buy a plain steel black rolex sub than any of these ones.
3:50 ..That is much better view than all presented watches.
Some of the ugliest watches i've ever seen.
Kani Fuker I agree with you. What do you think of the watch reviews on my channel? Let me know, thanks!
+Kani Fuker I like the chinese inspired one... that's the only one I liked...

alZiiHardstylez I agree with you! What do you think of the watches I've reviewed on my channel?
alZiiHardstylez I'm no hater, everyone has their own style. But a lot of high end watches are just too flamboyant and very tacky. Would not wear / 10.
+Erik Ternsjö no one gives a fuck about your channel
Tony Kim haha, ok, thanks for your feedback :)
British or Swiss wristwatches are truly premium and prestigious.
guy's mind be like "must maintain eye contact. maintain eye contact..."
why is the second hand on the rolex at 0:44 going anti-clockwise?
She's got some "big boy toys" herself :D
What's her name? For science.
they probably had sold a lot of cheaper ones but its like in the car market where so many people buy toyotas than lamborghinis. people buy a lot of cheap stuff but only a certain amount of people can buy or afford the high end stuff so thats why it sits around
I think whoever put that rolex at 0:45 together really fucked it up >.>
THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO, NEVER GETS OLD. THANKS FOR SHARING.
A bunch of tasteless watches.
mundotaku Agree! Thoughts on the watches I've reviewed on my channel?
they look disgusting and tasteless, like something that should be sitting on a wrist of a African warlord or Russian mafia boss
No matter how much money you have unless you are a rapper you have no business wearing ugly watches like that. As they say money can't buy taste...
you mean: _''money can't buy you _*_good_*_ taste''_ *
great salesman, how can i even tell the time with these watches...."check your phone"
nice, tell the person that the 1.1m watch is useless
But exactly. The retards that spend 1.1 million on the useless watches and the watch bands themselves are laughing themselves to the bank.
+Ewen Kahr Yu wouldn't call people that can afford 1.1m watches "retards"
+Sam Lewis its obvious that people dont buy 1.1m watches to tell the time, he knows his customers arent stupid
+Sam Lewis its a status symbol, not a time telling device
Bearcats 087 exactly, but to be fair, unlike women, men simply dont have any other proper jewelry
the only watch that caught my attention was Vacheron Constantin Patrimony. Truly beautiful
You Sir have great taste !
that gyro tourbillon was awesome

nope. "ROLEX" is still the right way around.
nope it's not wrong. it's the watch's function to let you go back in time.
They should sell Patek Philippe. It doesn't have any diamonds, but it has rich history and the movement is exquisite. I can't own a Patek, but i got a Panerai, which i really love wearing it anytime.
A two year warranty for a million dollar watch?
Omega just upped their warranty to 4 years for the new coaxial movements. But Rolex has always just had a 2 year warranty.
SerialQiller Rolex has upped their warranty to a class leading 5 years if you purchased your watch after June 1st 2015
Rolex_enforcer interesting. Seems the battle is ramping up.
SerialQiller yessir ... That only benefits the consumer !!
Rolex_enforcer Totes!

Never back Hot ≠ professional.
Why do you need to be professional when buying or talking about watches?
Not when her breasts are worth more than many of those crapy watches!
Bladed Those watches are worth 50 bucks, she wont even get a worthy lingerie with that!

Also in Macau, luxury goods are at duty-free prices.

Totally agree. If someone can afford a 700K watch, means he already has 1 million dollars sport car, 5 million yacht and maybe 20 million house.
Way to compare apples with oranges. Why not suggest an LED plastic watch for 2 dollars that has an alarm, timer and date?

there was only 1, single, million-dollar watch -- so why is this labeled as if it were showcasing more?
where u go to skoo? i wanna come someday
The Chinese gentleman is incredibly astute to his customer.
perfect video, thank you.
There ya go; absolutely! The Lux-O-Brand names USED to be worth big money. But to-day, with mass production so good and so cheap, there is nothing Lux-O-Brand can do that Timex can't do better - and cheaper.
this is an advertisement for promoting ostentatious wealth, which is diametrically opposed to style ,elegance and connoiseurship.
It seems to me that the less a country is developed in terms of social equality the more popular such things were. In east-north europe this was the case 10 and more years ago.
Awesome comment man, I hate it when people expect the rich to donate all of their wealth yet the people who complain, don't do it in the first place.
