If you mount the red dot near the front sight, instead of the rear sight, you should be able to find the red dot as easy as finding an iron front sight. I think in the future, people will be mounting a Red Dot near the front sight if they can find a holster.

Interesting thought. Maybe you should mill out a slide of your own and try it to see how it works

@@RangeRulerz Empire has something called KAGE Compensator System for Colt Python. This adds a pic rail on top of the entire barrel. At first, I mounted a red dot at the rear end of the pic rail and I had a hard time finding the red dot consistently. Then, I moved the red dot way up front and realized that I do not need to make any special effort to find the red dot. I just point and it's right there. I decided to try this because I remembered seeing some people mounting a red dot way up front on a hunting revolver and I was wondering why they do that. The same logic should apply to semi-auto pistols.

Good tips but hard to take advice from someone who is bowing and swinging the gun up on the draw rather than pressing out. HSP has a good video on this, I'll link it if I can find it

I appreciate your input! I'm glad you found some value in the video. I would like to ask why you feel my credibility is judged solely by the presentation of my weapon? If my credibility is determined by how I present my handgun then I would argue that you are focusing too much on lesser important matters.
When it comes to shooting handgun the key fundamentals like trigger control, grip, stance, and sight alignment are the key elements that make the biggest difference in accuracy and effectiveness.
If you are referring to Haley Strategic, firstly I’m vaguely familiar with his brand. I do believe he has a background in the military if I’m not mistaken? With that in mind the way he presents may be what he was taught - but I could be wrong! Nevertheless, I believe one’s presentation comes down to personal preference. For my training purposes my focus is to get my gun up as quickly and efficiently as possible and ensure a consistent sight alignment. If I was trying to draw and shoot behind cover, that’s where I may switch things up.
In the end, it's about consistent, accurate results, and that's what I “aim” to help others achieve.

@@RangeRulerz Thanks for the reply. Yes, I'm referring to Haley Strategic Partners, but most instructors will teach this as well. When you swing the gun up from the bottom, they call it bowling, when it's swung from the top down (which is more old school and not seen a lot anymore, but people still do it) they call it fishing, like how you cast a rod. This isn't a huge deal on the flat range, but can be a big problem during a real life defensive situation when stress, adrenaline, and fine motor skills deteriorate, and every second counts. Think of your line of sight as a straight plane to the target, as you know you will be target/threat focused, and you bring your sights onto that plane in line with your eyes and the target. When you bowl or fish, especially during a time of stress like when your life is on the line and someone is trying to kill you, that swing motion is overdone, due to being scared, stressed, and in a hurry, and what happens is you swing above that line, don't see your sights, then swing down to try to correct, you swung too low, now you have to swing up again. So it creates a mini back and forth of trying to find your sights/dot, and can cost you time. Instead, when you bring the straight gun up to that plane and then push straight out, you have a sight picture well before your arms are pressed out. This helps you maintain a sight picture sooner, fine tune the alignment (if needed) on the press out, and gives you the option to even shoot sooner since your sights are already aligned on the plane. This will also speed up your shots on the range because you're getting your sight picture much sooner, and can start prepping the trigger as your arms are not even fully pressed out. So when you arms do reach full press out, the trigger breaks and you hit your target because you had a sight picture so early on in the process. I hope I'm making sense, I'll try to find the video and I'll share if I find it. You do have some good tips in the video, we can always improve our technique and learn from each other. Thank you for the video
edit: here's the video I was referring to, it's actually not HSP but from Magpul Dynamics back with Travis Haley taught for them. ruclips.net/video/GRCOi8IeLPI/видео.html

Got it. I’m assuming you’ve already been trying to zero it, I would make sure it’s holding zero even without it co witnessing with your sights & see how it performs. It could be just how the set up is designed or something could be wrong with your dot. If you’re not happy with it, maybe you could send it back & out your money towards a Holosun. I strongly recommended it if it’s compatible for your gun. I hope that helps you. If not let me know
