This kind of old school skill and precision is incredible, not many craftsmen like you left. Thank you for sharing your techniques and making them very entertaining to watch as well.
It never ceases to amaze me the way people abuse their belongings. Your repair was nothing short of amazing as usual. You truly are a master craftsman.🥰✨✨✨✨✨✨
I know right? My parents always took care of their things. When I was in school I remember raiding my dads closet for paisley Oxford shirts & old Fred Perry tennis stuff. He had cashmere sweaters from before they were married.
All I can think of at the moment, for some strange reason, is the Road Runner cartoon where the Coyote says "genius, pure genius" Always amazed Steve!! Awesome
Wow. Three new techniques that I picked up. Fixing original stitching by resewing the bobbin thread keeping the original top stitch. Cool. Using a heat gun to relax the 'fabric'. The filler you used still puzzles me. Super Glue and filler? I could not tell what you used. This is why I love watching. Seeing new ways to fix things. Thanks Steve!
Wow beautiful job as usual. I will never understand why people pay such outrageous prices for these plastic purses just because they have a name on them. I would rather have a beautiful leather purse without the advertising all over, but that's just my opinion for what it's worth. There is nothing more wonderful than a well loved, well worn leather purse.
There are a few of Louis Vuitton Speedy bags that have hand painting on them. Initials as well as hearts and such. Your customer could look into having an artist had paint over the damaged area. Great job by the way. You're getting very confident in designer bags.
Try pressing an off cut of your material into the nearly cured filler, to transfer the pattern/texture of the original. You could oil the off cut to prevent sticking.
@@spamham1976 Not sure if there are videos available. I've done it mostly with stucco/wood filler repairs. Makes them invisible. I can see it working for leather as well. The concept is the same. Experiment with your filler material to see what works best.
@@spamham1976 colourlock sells all the stuff you need to do this with leather. That said, I can find the stuff way cheaper elsewhere, but for some reason not all at one store. The price they charge for some of it is just the price of convenience, but the cooling blocks of metal for instance are highway robbery vs other suppliers.
The more I watch Steve work his magic on these LV products (and he is a feckin magician!) the more I’ve re-aligned my view of these “luxury” brands as just not cutting it in quality (anymore…)
@@tszailer I think back in the day they had some cool innovations and quality methods and quality materials. I suspect that ship has long since sailed. Pun intended.
You're both not wrong. I got my first Louie as a graduation gift from my godmother 1977. I got the Doctors Bag (Speedy) & she got herself the Feed Bag. Mine went thru the horrors of hell. Beach, sneaking beers into movies, commuting to NYC on mass transit etc. Needless to say 40 odd years later & hers looks the same. Mine? Replaced.
Looks great Steve as usual. I hope you’re doing well and I hope you have a good day thank you for the wonderful demo and video! You always make it great! Take care be safe and stay well sir.
I have a LV bag, that my friend let me keep. She was going to throw it away and I said "Nooo", she said "it's ruined, I can't sell it". So, she threw it at me! I wish that I could afford to get it repaired!
You can put Super Glue directly on the fabric and then sprinkle baking soda on it for an instant repair. Light sand it then dab on dye with a QTip. Watch Hans Anteler, a leather artisan. You'll enjoy his stuff.
Did the owner transport coal in their bag? What in the world is going on with all that filth all over the bag? Absolutely disgusting. You did what you could but my god, I can’t comprehend the state it came in.
You know it just amazes me how in the shoe world when you pay the big bucks you get the best of everything [as it should be]... welted construction, leather galore not only in the uppers but in the welt, the sole, the heel stacks, shanks for structure, top notch stitching, reinforcement in all the important places... the list goes on but in the handbag world you pay the big bucks to get this absolute garbage. unbelievable

It is true & to be valued. Was just telling my new neighbor about a cobbler near us.

The bag does not look abused. Just worn out. If you wear a bag or shoes every day, it will wear out sooner or later, no matter how you care about it.
Incredible! You are so talented!!! Not many men left who can do this!
I love these shorter videos because I have no attention span. Great job!

That patch on the outside body was awesome! If you didn't know it was there, you wouldn't see it.

Enjoyed that. I do enjoy your bag repairs. Looking forward to your next full length with talking bag repair!

I agree, an extremely well made item is far superior to a piece of fancy plastic, but to each his own I guess? Lol
