Proud to say Cajun blood ,both sides of my French relatives.grand mother was a true kanuck.rock on Joel! Harminicapete 35 years plus blues harmonica player.
this cajun now lives in California but I'm still in Louisiana. It is my dying wish to return to Louisiana and buried in Abbeville. Thanks for remembering our blood is still strong!
I'm not a Cajun but the the accordion makes it sound so much like Tejano. It's a comfortable sound. It's about life and love. Thank you for this version. The first Cajun I met was in the Army. This song is so appropriate for that memory.
Where can I get the original CD of this? I remember something around 2000 or so that was released as part of a (believe it or not) blood drive. Thank you again for the reminder of this great song!
New verse: "Don't rattle the cages of Cajuns In fact just don't rattle a Cajun period (especially one that actually IS in a cage already??"🤣🤣 Full disclosure: I'm not Cajun myself, just a run of the mill WASP🤣🤣
Amen, we bow our knees to King Jesus only✝️💜
I did the full research on ACADIANS... BEYOND France. We were originally Jews ✡️ from Spain.
I have tons of free info to share.

Believe it or not Mexico was introduced to the accordion by France.
Merci beaucoup! From Chambly, QC.
Es-tu Acadienne?
Je suis de LONGUEUIL 😊
One of my all time favorite songs. I cry when I listen to it. I have Cajun blood from my Grandmother.
Love Jo-El!❤❤❤
I don't know maybe it's what I'm going through but this is making me tear up.
Love this. Thank you for sharing it
Let it run forever

I found it on Back roads and beyond. The original is Randy boudreaux
I should say writer. Seems Jo-el is the original. Pardon any ignorance. I'm just sharing my hours long journey conclusions.

On my bucket list, meet Joel in new Orleans, play harmonica with him and his band...pete
Can someone post the original. I can’t find it anywhere

Does anyone have the version released around 2000 on a CD by itself iirc
