Emily, you are amazing. Finally Luna videos from you 🙂...I always love the way you explain things. What would I love you to do more of in Luna? Vocal recordings, unmasking so the vocal sit in the mix. For me it is still a mystery how much instruments you have to be ducking to get a vocal sound like a radio ready song. When I use spitfire orchestra and write a song and add a vocal in Luna (using your template) do I need to duck all the instruments, or only the busses, to get the vocal sound one with the orchestra instead of above it, or that it is dominated by the orchestra. Still, can't get that right. So, I know this is a piece of cake for you 🙂so please share your secret - Another question about something you did in this video is that I button you activated during recording. I never used that before during vocal recording, should I? Does the recorded audio sound less when it is not enabled?
The midi section - I saw you also enabled that - I have my piano connected but the midi boxes in and out are unchecked by default. Should these by checked?
Sorry for the many questions, but I thought why not ask them all in 1 go 🙂

I love the questions! I will incorporate these into some video for sure. I don't ever use the ducking technique like that. I will sometimes use it on FXs.
The "I" is the input monitoring button. It allows you to hear the input of that track. So you can turn it on and hear the source you are going to record. Or use it to hear the input of other tracks too. I'm not sure I understand the question about MIDI. I just went through showing the workflow mode for it.
      Thanks for commenting, friend!

@@emily_bowie Hi Emily, thanks for the fast reply. Looking forward to the video. About the midi - in the settings under midi I see two bars, input and under I see output coming from the same midi cable that goes from my piano to my computer. Those two bars are unchecked by default, however, when you click it it shows a yellow marker like in your video. I was just wondering if these midi channels should be yellow or just leave it unmarked.

Just good to remember that LUNA only works if you own UA hardware, despite UA's marketing claims that it supports other interfaces, LUNA will not launch the first time without the presence of a UA hardware interface. It is effectively a piece of hardware specific software. UA is playing very fast and loose claiming it will do core audio and support other interfaces and neglecting to mention LUNA will never open the first time without a UA interface.

It's crazy now it doesn't need hardware

On the UA site it says you no longer need UA hardware?

I’ve been experimenting with Luna for a little while. One thing I’m unsure of the correct approach is “bouncing in place”. The best way to commit a MIDI/Audio instrument track with Inserts to audio. You could Export the track and then Import. Other DAWs like Logic have a bounce in place option. Does KUNA have a similar feature?
