I was going to take my M4 to a scooter repair shop (we have a couple in Manchester) to diagnose the fault, but now not so sure. Excellent video - just what I needed to see. After over 500km travelled on the same streets that destroyed the Kirin S1, the M4 has finally started playing up. It throttles up, then dies in a bit, then it won't throttle, then I try again and it's fine. Basically can cut out at any point so doesn't inspire confidence for road use, so needs addressing. You mentioned in the video that the controller isn't secure or even cushioned, so I think the movement/vibration is working with a recently worked loose connection to cause the fault, somewhere in the controller. There's no error code or anything. Battery full and everything else working normally. I was a bit wary of opening it up, not wanting to screw it up but you've given me the confidence to do just that and now I know what the innards look like. Once done I'll fit some neoprene in somewhere to stop it rattling. All this bloody time I've been wondering what the rattle was. If I mess up, there will probably be another comment later with much cussing, gnashing of teeth and begging for competent electrical skills. Thanks for showing the way
And then the throttling fault returned before total back end death with the wheel whirring loudly when I try and turn it. So I figured it must be the motor (right?) so bought the only one that I could find close to what I wanted. Turns out to be nigh on impossible to get your mits on a genuine replacement motor so I went to a company called Funbikes, who sell their "Halo" M4 and the spares to go with it. The Halo looks like the Kugoo but it turns out there are some fun differences. Such as the brake disc and the power cables now being on different sides and it doesn't quite fit so had to add some washers as spacers to get the caliper to sit nicely on the disc. Reconnected the wires and ... Error fucking 003. Any ideas?
I had this problem with mine. The batteries now died so think it may have been a battery issue. Just got a replacement battery and will see how it goes
@@ChArLie360115 After all the stress I abandoned the project and bought something called The Black Knight from a local company that's basically the same as a G2 Pro. A much more rugged machine with better range and speed. Anyway, I intend to get the M4 back to being roadworthy at some point so would be interested in buying a replacement battery. Could you let me know how you get on with it?
Great job Mt. Couldn't beleive the stats of the wiring literally 2 wires twisted together and insulated raped up so rough I could slide the tape up the wire and I bought this brand new... Long story cut all the wires and shrunk wrapped them and yes the fault was in the brain.. It wad like a bar crossing totally come of and was in the casing. But job done great
One tutorial in English, finally. Thanks for the tutorial. Please change the title saying somewhere there e-6 kugoo because I didn’t want to watch the video because of the title.
Its always good to see anyone repair a component rather than buy a New Part though you shouldn't attempt electrical repairs unless you have some experience. Ive bought a 37v 7Ah VICI scooter for £20 to see if I can get it repaired after what I assumed was water damage (it was). At worst I should get a decent battery that can be used as a supplemetary on my ebike but I'd really like to have a working e-scooter, that could be very handy locally.
Maybe someone can help me on here pls. I have the m4 kugoo with a full battery, I pull away and the voltage drops and fades out and all turns off , and when I turn it on the voltage goes to where it should and instantly drops and Tues off . Any ideas or in the bin ? Tia .Sean
@dominic Swan - great video, My scooter seems to keep cutting out not sure what the issue is as I have fully charged it.. Someone did say to me its the battery, however, the battery cost the same price as the scooter. lol any suggestions
hello please you can tell me the exact name of the resistor and the value that you had welded on the control of the scooter kugoo m4 or put me the link or I can buy this resistor I thank you in advance
Can you fix my m4 pro? I bought a new light switch but it comes with 3 small plugs at the end of the cable, none of which actually have anywhere to plug them in.
Dude this guide was great, but I really needed to see the controller going back in the scooter as that's where I am stuck, any chance of a video on showing this ? Many thanks in advance
I've got an error 05 on an m4 pro im working on, cant get my head around it, turns off whenever i try to draw power through orange vcc wire for the lights and is has after a bit of riding it shows E-005 and loses 90% of the torque
Hi have a cugoo m4 pro with error code 5 I belive it low battery I've google it but my battery full the scooter won't drive has power just won't accelerate really appreciate if you could tell me what part it might be thank kindly
Hi mate I’ve just bought the same scooter as spares or repair and was wondering if you had any ideas on how I maybe Abel to fix it I gave it a full charge and it all seams to be working until you pull on the throttle and then it makes a click the wheel tries to turn then it turns itself off If you have any thoughts I’d love to hear them Thanks Steve
Great videos. Would you be able to help with an error 10 on a Kirin S1, no clue where to start. If I knew where the issue comes from i’d stand a chance of fixing it. Thanks in advance. Wayne
The S1 is a lot less fixable than the M4. I previously had (and trashed) the S1, and tried ordering spares to fix it. The spares didn't fit and I ended up giving it to my brother-in-law who might find some use for the 36v battery. The lesson learned was to buy a scooter capable of being safely ridden on the road, which in my case meant buying the M4. I've done over 500km on it and something's started playing up in the throttle ... so I'll be commenting on that below.
Good video 👍 I've got a problem with mine but no error code. The left brake light on the deck is flashing when I power it on and it's also making a constant bleeping sound. Any ideas what this could be?

Hey dude this is a great video, I tried the same thing however the resistor does not look like it’s blown, I still have error code 6, what do you think I can do for this. Many thanks👍🏽
Hey dude, you need to move the resistor to see if this has come away from the board. They Dont really blow, more the snap off at the base because they are mounted too closely..
