today in the sims 4 we are building a house but every room is a different random kit! as the smallest and most specific pieces of dlc for the sims, i thought it would be fun to see if we can make entire rooms using only the kits and a bit of base game! let me know what your favorite room is!

i have a challenge idea ! basically it’s kinda like every item is a different pack. so every surface object (ie. table, desk etc.) is a random pack. every comfort item (beds, sofas etc.), every plant, wallpapers, and so on. it might be a lot of rolling though for the packs lol

You should do that challenge where you make a room *look like* another pack without using it but with kits. I feel like it would be fun because the kits have super cool and fun and specific vibes.

I love this. It makes me think of someone’s eccentric great aunt who raised her niece and now her grand nieces come over in the summer. The party room is definitely her nieces room, untouched since the mid 2000s when she moved out. The aunt is very eclectic and LIVES for Facebook marketplace.

I live in a desert. That outdoor furniture would be fine. It only rains like 5 or less times a year for a very short time, and you normally get an alert in advance. You'd be able to cover it or pull it in. It's not the most practical solution, but hey. You gotta do what you gotta do, lol

That ceiling glitch has been happening to everyone, it’s because there’s a roof on top of the room which is annoying

She should build a house using chat GTP. I did it and I had to build a gun store……. the sims don’t have guns…… so my imagination REALLY came in handy (also debug). But it’s a perfect challenge for her because it’s random and usually is chaotic. Also ChatGTP is really detailed down to the floor plan to the lot size
Here is an Idea, combine the coloring book challenge however changing the swatch color is determined with the roll of a six sided die so if you roll a four you have to click the random button 4 times. However you can match the multiples of the same item. For example in the dining room you can match the dining chairs. but the table swatch has to be randomized. The walls and floors are randomized for each room in the same way. There might be houses with all white swatches on the gallery so you really don't know what to expect.

📚 this was fun and chaotic, as usual. And you find a way to make it work... well, as good as to be expected with the limitations.
Build idea: only use packs that had early purchase items (so, most of the newer expansions). And you must use all of the early purchase items, and try to make the build cohesive. No Base Game items as an extra challenge.
For me, that would mean I would only have Cottage Living, Horse Ranch and Lovestruck to build and furnish with...
oooh this could be fun since they've been doing the early purchase incentives more recently!
for the party bedroom there's some kind of woohoo pun there with woohoo also being like hooray. idk

You could try for a challenge every room is a different material e.g. wood, metal, brick, plastic, tile, fabric, stone.

I would like to say I enjoy the walkthroughs after each room is finished, but it'd be nice to see a final like "first person" walkthrough after you're done with each build :)

backyard: Riviera Retreat or Little Campers
Kitchen: Country Kitchen kit or Industrial Loft
Bathroom: the Bathroom Clutter kit
Bedroom/office: Pastel Pop
Bedroom 2: Modern Luxe
Bedroom 3: Industrial Loft
Bedroom 4/ Kids room: Little Campers
Living room: Decor to the Max or Book Nook or Basement Treasures
Basement/attic/spare room: Basement Treasures or Greenhouse Haven or Blooming Rooms (bc honestly those two could’ve been in the same kit)
Entryway: Everyday Clutter

waitttt but the tv dinner area gives me the idea for like a bachelor pad type situation, like maybe they're in college and moved out of the dorms, and they stole the fish fountain from campus!

actually a few other people have asked me to do it again more recently so I think I probably will! i'm not sure exactly when but it's definitely higher on my list now :)

What if it’s so weird bc a bunch of siblings inherited the house from their grandma or something and so they all took a part of the house to renovate and none of them collaborated on what the look was gonna be. So now it looks really random and out of place bc again, none of them talked about what to do with the house.
Also the reason the dinning room is so bare is bc no one wanted to renovate it, so no one touched it until the last minute and by then they were tired so they just shoved some chairs in their and called it a day.
