Jimmy carter is a amazing geniune person who helps people in need and is a great person. I hope he lives to see the age of 100. He deserved everything he got in life. From peanut farmer to president to retired former president his life and legacy have been something amazing. And i hope it is remembered for hundreds of thousands of years.

I wasn't thrilled with him as a president, but I TOTALLY respect the man himself. That is a life well lived, and in service. :-) I heard him speak about some of it once, and it was incredibly interesting. He accomplished some incredible goals, one of the most major being the eradication of the Guinea worm, which caused unimaginable human suffering up to that point.

Jimmy Carter is the longest living US president in history. He outlived a lot of other famous people such as George H.W. Bush, Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, Walter Mondale, Betty White, Queen Elizabeth II, John McCain, Ruth Ginsburg.
Also Roberta mccain (1912-2020), Krik Douglas (1916-2020) and Anne Douglas (1919-2021).
Not Betty White. Betty was just a few weeks shy of her 100th birthday. While Jimmy is just a few weeks shy of his 99th birthday.

I was able to shake President Jimmy Carter's hand when he arrived at Fairchild AFB after the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in May of 1980, I was a part of the 92d Security Police Squadron at the base and was hand picked by the Division Commander to secure the air control tower as Air Force One arrived. I was given a direct order from one of the Secret Service agents to shoot first, ask questions later if anyone other than him tired to enter the tower. No one tried, He then took me and placed me in the reception line to greet the President and I still had both of my firearms!
